Chapter 140 - The Results of a Few

Saitama was shocked when he saw the results. Weren't they supposed to be unlocking spiritual power? King was just an ordinary human, after all—the only difference being his unusually loud heartbeat. How could he possibly achieve such a score?

"This is your talent. It has nothing to do with my exam paper. It seems you could pursue this path, aim for a 90, and your future achievements won't be inferior to Tornado's," Han Yu said with a smile.

This set of papers, if he himself took it, would be a piece of cake due to his own spiritual power. But for others, scoring 80 was already impressive.

Now, King had achieved 91 points—a truly remarkable feat.

"Is… this real?" King couldn't believe it. "This exam isn't supposed to give higher scores the harder it is?"

Han Yu laughed. "No. The higher your spiritual power, the easier the questions appear. If I were taking this test, the questions I see would be at the level of '1+1=2.'"

"Really? I thought it was my lack of talent. That's why it seemed so easy, and I agonized over every question for so long."

King twisted the corner of his mouth. All that worrying, carefully considering every question to avoid a trap, only to find out the simplicity was genuine.

"This set of papers will cost you ten million yen—a friendship price," Han Yu said. Ten million yen sounds like a lot, but it's just under $100,000 USD—a trivial amount for Han Yu.

Genos and Fubuki didn't hesitate and asked him for his bank account info. Han Yu gave them the "Wanjie Tong Bank" account used for his general store—perfect for occasions like this.

King, on the other hand, planned to pay in two installments. Giving the full amount now was impossible, and Han Yu didn't refuse; King's credit was good.

Han Yu took the three sets of papers and, using his spiritual power, wrote some rules on them. He said:

"The method to increase spiritual power is simple. Take these papers home and write on them repeatedly. The markings can be erased. The more frequently you write, the faster your spiritual power will increase. After each attempt, it will automatically display your score. Once you all reach 100 points, you can try moving small objects with your mind, gradually moving on to larger ones."

He looked at Genos and continued, "For example, if you want to learn fire control, once your score reaches 100, you can start with a lighter. Practice controlling the flame first, then gradually increase the size of the fire."

Genos looked hesitant. "If I don't understand something, can I still ask you?"

Han Yu stroked his chin, a good idea coming to mind. He said to Genos and Fubuki:

"I can see you're interested in spiritual power, but I can't always be available to guide you. How about this: I have an academy with many children who have superpowers. You two can go there as teachers. Teach them how to control their abilities. I can occasionally instruct you on improving your spiritual power. How does that sound?"

Han Yu was naturally referring to the mutant school he ran. Although he usually had little time to manage it, if there was a chance to make the academy better, he would take it.

"Is it… far?" Fubuki hesitated. She remembered Han Yu had said he came from another world. Going to his academy meant traveling to another world.

"Don't worry. I can set the spatial gate coordinates wherever you want. Just choose a convenient and hidden location," Han Yu replied, sensing her concern. He added, "The work hours aren't long. You just need to spend about an hour and a half each day teaching."

The mutant school wasn't a regular school. It didn't follow a rigid schedule like ordinary schools. It was more like a vocational school, offering a flexible curriculum. Both students and teachers had plenty of time for extracurricular activities.

"I have no problem. Let's go!" Fubuki said, relieved that the distance issue was solved.

"I don't have a problem either," Genos raised his hand.

Seeing them both agree, Han Yu was delighted. With one S-class hero and one B-class hero as teachers, the school would be in excellent hands.

"What about Saitama? Consider it. You don't really have anything to do normally, and hero work is just a hobby, right? You can be a teacher too—I'll pay you a salary," Han Yu suggested.

If Saitama joined, although his strength in the Marvel world was uncertain, he would undoubtedly be powerful, at least on Thor's level.

Saitama blinked his monotonous eyes. Becoming a teacher hadn't crossed his mind, but Han Yu's idea sounded somewhat interesting. "I think I can give it a try. Just as long as it's not the kind of class that makes you fall asleep."

Han Yu smiled. "Of course not. The curriculum can be whatever you decide. You can teach academics or take them on practical exercises—it's all fine."

With Saitama, Han Yu felt even more confident about the school's future. Three teachers were enough, and one could even act as the school's guardian. His role as principal wouldn't be in vain.

Five people were in the room. Besides Han Yu, he had recruited three: Genos, Fubuki, and Saitama. He didn't include King, since King had no abilities and was just an ordinary person. Making him a teacher wouldn't work—he wouldn't be able to teach anything.

Han Yu was considering how to tell King this, not wanting him to feel left out.

Before he could speak, King raised his hand:

"Can I go to that school… as a student?"

Both Saitama and Han Yu were surprised; they hadn't expected this. Fubuki and Genos, meanwhile, had a different reaction.

Fubuki said, "King, you're the seventh S-class hero—going to be a student?"

Genos also looked puzzled.

The truth was, King couldn't fight at all. Only Han Yu and Saitama knew. Genos often saw King, but assumed his power was due to his own teacher's influence. No one thought King had any real ability.

Besides the always-hidden S-class #1 hero, King had the highest rating in the Hero Association.
