"You kid, you really dare to think about it, but it is indeed possible."
Onyx Orchid appeared beside Ethan, arms folded, expression somewhere between mockery and approval. His ethereal robes fluttered though there was no wind, his presence ancient and unfathomable.
"Being born without spiritual roots is a congenital deficiency, but it is not a terminal disease. Without innate spiritual roots, one can have acquired spiritual roots."
Ethan's eyes narrowed, thoughts racing.
"The acquired spiritual roots… what is the difference?"
"Acquired means taking a spiritual root from another cultivator," Onyx Orchid said slowly.
"But this method is extremely difficult. Once a spiritual root is separated from its body, it rapidly dries up. By the time it is transplanted into you, it will be in a half-dead state."
