"I hope Lord Azaria is not wishing us bad by saying this?" Lady Arguala commented.
"Hmph! What do you know? If I was wishing you bad I'd have done it long ago." Lord Azaria harrumphed.
"Oh! I heard your daughter got hooked with the Young Duke of Spring City. Maybe you want to borrow the power of Spring City to deal with us." Lady Bexen added.
"Lord Xuel will release four hundred elite troops to lead two thousand soldiers to Sun faction. Two days from today. It takes effect immediately after the court is dismissed." I commanded.
"Thank you Sovereign." Lord Justice expresses his gratitude.
The after thoughts we had after Azaria spoke, no one said anything but we all had our own speculations.
I took another parchment, it was delivered by Lord Yanis. He was the minister in charge of keeping us on tabs about the other races in the immortal land.
"Sovereign, the current wolf Prince says he wants to make a deal with you. He's aware of the destruction of the Source Tree in the Goddess Temple."
The Source Tree was the foundation of the Goddess Temple. It has been there since the beginning of Lunadom.
The Goddess Temple was our place of refuge. Whenever there is an unrest in Lunadom, all the vulnerable are hidden there. The temple also serves as a link between us and the Goddess Selene.
From generation after generation, we were made to believe that Selene, the Goddess of the moon and our creator lived somewhere in the temple. The generation that will destroy the temple will be the sinners of our race. As the Sovereign of the current generation, I had to make sure the Source Tree will be healthy.
A hundred years ago, the war in which my predecessor died affected the source tree. We've been trying to nourish it with the water from the spirit pond but lately it has been getting worse by the day.
"Lord Yanis, convey my message. He should tell me what he has that can repair the temple and I shall consider if it's worth the deal." I said with excitement in my tone.
" But Sovereign, he says he doesn't want to talk about it until he is permitted into the land. Lord Yanis complained.
"Hm. I was wondering, the problem with the source tree is an insiders thing how did a wolf hear of it?" Lady Estel asked.
That was the exact same thing I was thinking.
Even for the common citizens of Lunadom, it will be a course of fear so I kept the news to the confinement of the court and the elders that participated in that devastating battle.
Though Lunadom held no animosity with the wolves, we still kept them at arms length.
" There is no information that can be held unto. It'll someday e exposed. The Sovereign should be more clear about this." Lord Justice quipped.
This guy will never change. And I wonder if he'll ever get a partner.
We discussed more issues and tried to find solutions to them. Some, we decided to wait and see what'll happen next before we decide.
For the meeting with the Wolf Prince, Lord Yanis will handle that.
Finally, the court was dismissed and all the ministers left. I was left alone on my throne and planning what to do next. I had to play two roles now.
I had to be a teacher to Argent and a Sovereign to my subjects.
Argent was important so was the source tree. I'll focus on Argent till the wolf prince arrive.
I sent for Argent and walked outside the courtroom.
"Sovereign!" He smiled and walked faster towards me. I petted his head. "Call me Serena." I requested.
"You're behaving like a young girl." He pouted and looked unwilling. He was so cute. I wanted to pinch his cheeks so I did.
"Don't forget I'm a young girl before my duty." I reminded him.
"So how was the court today?" He asked
"There are a lot of things to handle but don't worry, I'm capable and won't be overwhelmed. So did you meet the younger generation of the Courtiers?" I asked shifting his attention from my meeting.
"Yes! They don't look harmonious but they have a way of getting along without fighting." He held his chin as if in deep thought.
"I hope they didn't find any trouble for you?" "What trouble can they bring me?" He said cheekily with his hands on his waist and his head held high as if he was a little Lord. It amused me so I laughed.
