The last phase of their journey began. Godfrey and Ken sat in the boat as it traversed the Black Sea. As the land slightly faded into the distance, they were welcomed by a grayish-black fog.
Godfrey looked around. Right now, the fog around them was light, so he could still see, and the sun was just setting, but up ahead was a massive, endless fog looming with such oppressive might.
They slowly grew closer and closer until they were beneath the fog. At that moment, there was no more sun. Darkness engulfed the entire place, and the lantern at the front of the boat became their only source of light.
Ken stood up, staring at the fog that looked like the clouds were just above their heads. He leaped, vanishing into the fog, then landed.
When Godfrey saw Ken shaking his head, he frowned. "I can see it wasn't a good experience."
"I felt lost," Ken responded. "I even forgot that I jumped. It's like being in a dream. It all seems real to you until you're out. That's…" Ken sat down.
