Thousands of people in the castle watched the skies rumble and brighten. Explosions thundered in the distance, and they could only imagine what it would feel like to be close to such a battle. It was as though the very laws of nature were colliding in a brutal struggle.
The earth beneath their feet trembled continuously. Chu Ran could already hear people whispering about a possible earthquake. Fear was spreading among them, especially since they had watched the generals leave the castle, followed not long afterwards by troops of knights.
Something was coming. Something dangerous. And though Chu Ran didn't want to admit it, whatever it was seemed to be drawing closer despite the forces sent out to stop it. People murmured prayers while others tried to encourage those around them, but dread was evident on every face.
If the Unknown King and his forces fell, the horrors awaiting them under the Authorities would be unimaginable.
