30 The First Knight of the Round Table
"Seriously, brother? So, can I smell your ass right now?"
The monster paused to think before speaking again.
"Brother, what if... what if I tie your ass to my face? Do you think I'll become smarter faster?"
"Of course. Look at me! I've had this ass since I was created by the queen, and look how smart I am."
"True, brother. The cave and your ass... it must be so."
A spider monster interrupted their conversation, pointing at Alex.
"Look, brother, the human is running. Shouldn't we take him to the queen?"
"Really?"
"Yes, let's do it."
With that, they all leaped onto the trees, shooting webs, and in just a few seconds, the monsters intercepted Alex.
"Hey, human, do you think you can hurt us so easily?"
Alex didn't respond. With a single thought, Excalibur appeared in his hands, his black hair glimmering with a faint purple light as electricity snaked across his body.

With a single step, Alex used Lightning Step Lv.2 to its fullest. Excalibur descended in an arc at the same instant Alex closed the distance between himself and his opponent.
The enemy's reaction was formidable. The humanoid spider controlled time itself, but Alex wouldn't let it escape. He used Gravitational Control to prevent the spider from fleeing.
Excalibur came down, and one of the enemy's arms fell off, making the spider let out a piercing shriek.
"What have you done? You barbarian! How dare you harm our brother?"
Saying this, two others lunged forward with their claws raised, crossing their strikes in a coordinated attack. Alex spun, combining his agility with his high Agility attribute, and the sword in his hands cut off the arms of the other two.
"Look, brother, how irritating! He controls gravity! How irritating!"
The spiders changed their approach to long-range attacks. Silver webs shaped like blades shot toward Alex.
Swordsman Lv.2!
The skill was used to repel the combined assault.
Alex stared intently at what seemed to be their leader. He was in a hurry and didn't want to waste time.
"Where is your boss?"
Alex asked in a commanding tone. He couldn't waste his MP. He wanted to deal with the boss and clear the dungeon.
The spiders didn't answer. They would never obey anyone other than their queen.
"You stupid human! Do you think you can command us? Think again!"
"Since you refuse to show me, I'll cut off your heads and look for her myself."
"I'd like to see you try that! Brothers, let's attack him together!"
One of the queens said this with a morbid sneer.
The spiders attacked with even greater ferocity, their hands holding silver swords and spears made from the web fluid they themselves produced as they charged in a fierce assault.
Alex raised his aura to its limit; his speed more than doubled.
Excalibur danced in his hands as heads rolled. In just a few moves, two heads fell to the ground.
His swordsmanship was even more refined than before. Thanks to his Dexterity, he could read his opponents' movement patterns more clearly, exposing their openings. Thus, with just a few more exchanges, three more heads rolled, and the battle was over.
And then something happened, something that hadn't occurred for some time.
Alex was pleasantly surprised when a system window opened before his eyes.
System Notice:
You have leveled up.
You have leveled up.
You have leveled up.
He hadn't leveled up during the undead dungeon raid, and he wondered why. What Alex knew was that for hunters to level up, they had to clear dungeons, but it had to be the first dungeon.
Yet even beyond that, some things weren't well explained. All that was known was that some monsters gave experience while others did not.
Alex then looked at another section of the system.
System Notice:
Congratulations to the user.
The skill Call of the Round Table Lv.1 can now be used.
Alex was pleasantly surprised. This was one of his class skills that he hadn't been able to use before.
Before testing his abilities, he decided to assign his attribute points.
Automatically, all attributes gained two points upon leveling up. He then decided to increase his MP, since Excalibur consumed a lot of MP, and when he leveled up, it was as if his body had awakened.

Alex seemed quite pleased with his new attribute window; his mood had improved a little. He was still worried, but also happy to have leveled up.
Alex clicked on the active skill and opened its description. The system responded without delay.
Call of the Round Table Lv1
The Round Table counted twelve knights serving under King Arthur. The user can summon the same number of knights corresponding to the skill's level.
Alex's eyes shone as he read the skill description, and then he used Call of the Round Table Lv1.
Something happened next.
Long white hair was tied in a ponytail so long that it touched the ground. A slender figure with skin glowing a pure, vibrant purple stood before him, clad in full black armor.
Finally, she had a sheathed sword at her waist.
The female figure knelt, her head bowed.
"Stand," Alex commanded.
The figure rose to her feet.
"Haven't I seen you somewhere before?"
Alex looked at the figure, and something clicked in his mind.
"You are the woman I fought in the test chamber in the land of 2035, aren't you?" Alex asked, but the figure merely continued to stare at him with an expressionless face.
"You can't speak, can you?"
She kept looking at him and said nothing.
"What can you do?"
Again, the figure did nothing and spoke no words.
Alex thought for a moment, then pointed to a tree and gave a command.
"Destroy those trees."
The figure raised her hand, and a bolt of lightning shot from her palm, carbonizing the tree entirely.
Alex smiled, but he was in a hurry and postponed the other tests until later.
