The scene opens to a shot of Beacon Academy's courtyard at dusk, with Weiss, Ruby and Nick running up the main avenue towards the docking bays.
Ruby: (running to catch up with her partner) "Weiss! What is the big deal!? Who is it? Who is she!?"
Weiss: (as she stops and smiles at the sight of...) "Winter."
The scene then cuts behind Nick, Ruby and Weiss watching Winter Schnee, escorted by crimson-colored Atlas Soldiers and Atlesian Knight-200's as she exits her airship.
Ruby: "Wait...Your sister?"
Weiss: (cups mouth) "Winter!"
The three then run up to the elder Schnee as she turns to see them.
Weiss: "Winter! I'm so happy to see you! Oh... (suddenly curtsies) Your presence honors us."
Winter: (looks around as she approaches them) "Beacon...It's been a long time. The air feels...different."
Ruby: "I mean it is fall, so, eh, it's probably colder."
It's actually snowing outside as I'm writing this chapter. That's life in Canada for you.
Nick: "But, it's probably still a bit warmer then Atlas."
Weiss punches Ruby in the shoulder, causing her to gasp in pain before turning back to her sibling.
Weiss: "So, what are you doing here?"
Winter: "Classified."
Nick: (thought) 'She was most likely ordered by her idiot-of-a-boss to come here for security reasons. I'm gonna punch that guy in the face.'
Weiss: "Oh, right. Well, how long are you staying?"
Winter: "Classified."
Nick: (thought) 'She'll probably be here until that moron-of-a-general tells her to head back to atlas.'
Weiss: "Of course." (nods and smiles in understanding)
Ruby: (looks pensively around in the silence) "Well...this is nice...I think."
Weiss: (excitedly) "You're going to love it here! I know you travel a lot, but so much of Beacon is different from Atlas! (discreetly whispers) Vale, too. The government and school are completely separate! Can you believe it!? I-"
Winter: "I'm more than familiar with how this kingdom handles its...bureaucracy. That is not why I came."
Weiss: "Right! I'm sorry!"
Winter: "Nor did I come here to watch my own blood fail so miserably in battle. But it appears that I have no choice in the matter."
Weiss: (puzzled) "But, we won!"
Winter: "Only a novice would refer to that as a victory. I counted at least three strikes missed."
Nick: "Like that matters?"
Winter: "Pardon?"
Nick: "So Weiss didn't land a few attacks on an opponent, what matters is that she and her teammates won the match. Besides, it was only the first round. And you shouldn't criticize your own sister for a few mistakes. I doubt you never made any mistakes, or had opponents who managed to avoid a few strikes."
The camera then cuts to a side view of the group as Winter turns to her security.
Winter: "Leave us."
The AK-200s obey, walking two steps backwards into formation as she sighs and smiles a little more warmly at Weiss.
Winter: "How have you been?"
Weiss: "Oh, splendid! Thank you for asking. I'm actually in the very top ranking of our sparring class! And the rest of my studies are going wonderfully, too! I'm-"
The camera cuts to Winter's hand as she slaps Weiss, leaving a massive bump on her head.
Winter: "Silence, you boob! I don't recall asking about your ranking, I'm asking how you've been. Are you eating properly? Have you taken up any hobbies? Are you making new friends?"
Weiss: "Well, there's Ruby, and Nick."
Ruby: (giggles as she pushes the lump back into Weiss' head) "Heh, boob."
Winter: "I see. So these two of the people you wrote of in your letter. How appropriately...underwhelming."
Ruby: "Uh...Thank you!"
Nick: "I don't think it was a compliment, Rubes."
Ruby: "oh."
Nick: "And, it's like the saying goes Winter, never judge a book by its cover."
Winter: "Mmm, I suppose that is true. Either way...greetings, Ruby Rose, and Nick Brown. I wish to thank you both for taking an interest in my sister."
Ruby: "Oh! Uh, yes, of course! (attempts to salute and curtsy) The honor is in my...court!"
She nearly losing her balance with this gesture, waving her arms until she can get back up with help from Nick.
Nick: "No probs, Winter. (leans over to Weiss, and whispers in her ear) So, does this mean that I already have your sister's approval?"
Weiss: (blushes, and whispers back at him) "Please not in front of Winter. And...I haven't told her yet."
Winter looks at the two, and has a look of confusion about what they're talking about, but decides to shrug it off, for the time being.
Winter: "I have business with the General and your Headmaster."
Nick: "That's funny, I actually have business with Iron-brain as well."
Winter: "It's Ironwood."
Nick: "No one gives a crap."
Winter: "...What Business do you have with the General."
Nick: "Well, it mostly involves my fist, and his face."
Winter: "...Anyways, seeing as I'm early, why don't you take me to your quarters?"
Weiss: "Really?"
Winter and Weiss begin walking towards the Academy, followed by the androids.
Winter: "Yes. I wish to inspect them and make sure that they are up to my personal standards."
Weiss: "Of course. Just so you're aware, the bunk beds only look unstable."
Winter: "Bunk beds?"
Ruby: (waves goodbye behind them) "I'll catch up- I mean, I will... reconvene with you both...at a later... (she pauses with her hand on her head, wracking her brain for the right word) juncture! (she raises her finger, before stepping out of sight to the left) At a juncture. Yeah."
Nick then grabs Ruby, and goes to catch up with the Schnee sisters.
Nick: "Come on, Strawberry. You'll gonna want to come too."
They then catch up with Winter and Weiss.
Nick: "And, Winter, shouldn't the dorm room be by Weiss' personal standards? Also, the room houses eight people."
Winter: (confused) "Don't you mean four people?"
Nick: "Uh, no."
Winter: "...Why are you joining us, anyways?"
Nick: "Just give it a few seconds."
The scene cuts to behind Nick, Ruby, Weiss, Winter and the androids walking towards the courtyard, before shifting to first-person view, where a certain someone dizzily sneaks up behind the AK-200s and promptly decapitates one, before kicking its head towards the group.
Drunk: "Hey!"
Nick: (smirks) "Yup, right on que. I love being able to do that."
The group turns around to see the man who was previously seen in the Crow Bar.
Drunk: "Yeah, I'm talking to you, Ice Queen!" (tosses the decapitated machine aside)
Winter: (as one of her automated soldiers advances, rifle raised) "Halt!"
Weiss: (angrily walks up to the offender's face) "Excuse me! Do you have any idea who you are talking to!?"
Nick then grabs Weiss' hand, and ballerina twirls her between him and Ruby.
Nick: "Not you, Snowflake. You were promoted to "Snow Princess", remember?"
Winter looks at Nick, Ruby and Weiss with confusion once again, especially about Nick calling Weiss "Snowflake", and "Snow Princes".
Weiss: "Oh, right. Better then "Ice Queen". But...then who-"
Nick: "Dude was talking to Winter. And, Qrow, did you have to trash the Robo-Trooper? They're hunks of junk, sure, but still a bit uncalled for, don't you think."
Drunk (now known as Qrow): "Whatever, kid. (thought) 'Still find it hard to believe that's really him.' "Anyways... (points at Winter) You."
A raven is seen perched on a lamp post, and seemed to...shake its head, while having a look of annoyance and disappointment on its face for some reason, before flying off and circling past the group.
Qrow: "Saw that gaudy ship of yours in town. I guess you're here, too."
Winter: "I'm standing right before you."
Qrow: (squints through his hazy state of mind) "So it would seem."
Winter: "You realize you just destroyed Atlas Military property."
Nick: "It's not like he gives a crap."
Qrow: (sarcastically apologizes as he looks at his surroundings) "Oh, oh I'm so sorry. See, I mistook this for some sort of...sentient garbage."
Nick: "See? Told ya."
Winter: (walks over to face Qrow) "I don't have time for your immature games, Qrow."
Weiss: "Wait, you two know each other?"
Nick: "They always have this type of interaction between each other every time they're in the same room."
Qrow: "Geez, you Atlas Specialists think you're so special, don't you?"
Winter: "It's in the title."
Qrow: "Well, you know what you really are? A bunch of sellouts. Just like your boss."
Nick: "He's not wrong. You can't really argue with him on that." (thought) 'But, at least Winter is good at doing her job. She's better at it then Iron-brain, at least.'
Winter: "I'm not sure what you think you're implying, but I've heard enough."
Qrow: "Oh I heard, too. I heard ol' Ironwood finally turned his back on Ozpin."
Nick: "Unsurprisingly."
Weiss & Ruby: "Ozpin?"
Winter: (shoves Weiss aside) "Weiss, it's time for you to go."
Weiss: "What-"
Qrow: "Listen to your big sister, Weiss. She'll protect you. Just like Atlas is going to protect all of us, huh? Even though they're nothing compared to the Kamen Rider, in any way."
Winter: "If you won't hold your tongue, then I will gladly remove it for you!" (draws her sword)
Nick: (sighs) "Oh boy. Here they go again."
Qrow: "Alright then... (slicks back hair) Come take it."
The square clears before Winter charges at Qrow, starting a fight, only for the two to be blocked by a riot shield-like energy construct suddenly appearing between them.
Qrow: (startled) "What the heck?!"
Nick: (while holding a golden ring with the image of a black, white, and red vehicle, a red jet in the background, and the number 43 on the bottom of the ring) "Alright, you two. Knock it off."
Weiss: "One of the abilities of one of your Rings?"
Nick: "Yup. The Patranger Sentai Ring. Gives me a Ring Ability called "Shield", which allows me to generate a riot shield-like energy construct."
Ruby: "That's a pretty good defense ability. And it's kind of like each Sentai Ring gives you a different Semblance."
Nick: "I guess so, in a way. Anyways...Qrow, Winter, cut it out, alright?"
Winter: "It would be appreciated if you did not interfere."
Qrow: "Yeah, kid. This is between me, and the Ice Queen here."
Nick: (sighs) "Don't say I didn't at least try to stop you two peacefully."
Nick then puts the Patranger Ring away, as the riot shield fades, and pulls out another Sentai Ring. This one having the number 48 on the bottom, and an image of a red Stag Beetle and a black castle in the background. Nick then turns the Ring's dial, replacing the black castle with a Red Ranger with a Stag Beetle on their helmet, as the TegaSword Morpher appears on Nick's right hand.
TegaSword Morpher: TegaSword Morpher!
Nick: (as he places the Ring in the Morpher) "Engage!"
TegaSword Morpher: Sentai Ring!
Nick then raises his right hand up next to his head and claps twice, before moving his right hand to his left side, and claps once. He then gets covered by a golden energy cocoon, as a red energy Stag Beetle flies around, before charging at Nick from behind, as both the Beetle and cocoon shatter on impact, revealing Nick now transformed as the 48th Red Ranger, while also wearing the torso armor from his GozyuWolf form.
TegaSword Morpher: (techno music) King-Ohger! Kuwagata Ohger!
Winter: (in complete shock by what she had just witnessed) "What in the world?!"
Qrow: (thought) 'So, the kid really is the Kamen Rider.'
Kuwagata Ohger: "Alright, guys. Now knock, it, off. We're in a public space, with a lot of people around. So just stop before someone gets hurt, okay?"
Winter: "I do not know how you just did that, but do not interfere."
Qrow: "Yeah, I'm actually with the Ice Queen on this one. Sorry, Kamen Rider."
Winter: "Wait...what did you just call him?"
Qrow: "Actually...seeing as you're here, why not join in on the-"
Before Qrow could finish, Kuwagata Ohger used his Ring Ability, Solid, to stretch his Ohsa Mantle, as it wraps around Qrow's right leg.
Qrow: "What the-?"
Kuwagata Ohger then pulls on his Ohsa Mantle, causing Qrow to be pulled with it, as he falls onto his back, and drops his weapon.
Ruby: "The fight was over, before it even began. And...I'm sorry about my uncle, Weiss."
Weiss: "It's fine, Ru-wait, what?"
Ruby: "Yeah, the man who just picked a fight with your sister is my uncle Qrow. Well, he's Yang's uncle, and my honorary uncle, since he and I aren't biologically related.
Kuwagata Ohger then walks over to the defeated Qrow.
Qrow: (groans) "Ow..."
Kuwagata Ohger: (squats down to his knees) "So...are you going to behave now?"
Qrow: (sighs) "...Fine."
Kuwagata Ohger: (stands up, and helps Qrow back up) "Thank you. And, was that so hard?"
He then stretches his Ohsa Mantle to grab Qrow's weapon, and gives it back to him.
Qrow: (puts his weapon away) "Thanks. And, what the heck are you even doing here? And as a student of all things?"
Nick: (de-morphs) "That's been the No.1 question on everybody's mind, since the start of the school year."
Get the reference Nick just made there with the "No.1" thing?
Winter: (walks over to them) "Now I remember who you are...you're the Kamen Rider, correct?"
Nick: "Yup, bingo. Are you just now figuring that out? It's common knowledge all over Remnant now."
Just then...
Ironwood: "SCHNEE!"
Winter looks behind her to see General Ironwood standing behind her, with Penny behind him.
Nick: "Oh brother."
Winter: (addresses Ironwood at about face) "General Ironwood, sir!"
Ironwood: (approaches Winter with Penny by his side) "What in the world do you think you're doing?"
Winter: "He started an altercation, sir!"
Qrow: (puts his hands behind his head in a relaxed stance) "That's actually not true. She attacked first."
Nick: "Qrow, you provoked her, don't even try to play innocent here."
Ironwood: "Is that right? And you. (Qrow points to himself in mock confusion) What are you doing here?"
Qrow: "I could be asking both you, and the Kamen Rider the same thing."
Ironwood: "I-"
Ozpin: "Now, now, everyone. (intervenes beside Glynda Goodwitch) There is a sanctioned fight happening just around the corner at the Colosseum, that I can assure you has better seats...and popcorn." (swirls his cocoa)
Goodwitch: "Break it up, everyone! We will take care of this mess." (glares at Nick, Qrow and Winter)
Ironwood: "Let's go."
As Ironwood and Winter leave, Penny notices Ruby and quietly waves to her, while Ruby waves back.
Nick: "Penny...how about you go hang out with Ruby. And don't worry, Iron-brain doesn't get a say in it. Unless he wants to get punched in the face."
Penny happily nods and walks over to Ruby, who then leaps giddily onto Qrow's arm, shaking her legs in delight.
Ruby: "Uncle Qrow!!! (as she hangs on Qrow's outstretched arm) Hi. It's so good to see you! Did you miss me? Did you miss me?!"
Qrow: "Nope."
They share a grin as he pats his niece's head.
Ozpin: "Qrow!"
The Huntsman turns to look at the Headmaster as Ruby gets dropped.
Ozpin: "A word, please."
Qrow: (to Ruby, discreetly) "I think I'm in trouble."
Ruby: "You did almost tear up our courtyard, if Nick hadn't stopped you."
Qrow: "Yeah, I guess so. (winks and gives her a fist bump) Catch ya later, kid."
He walks off to join the others, as Weiss walks up beside Ruby, arms crossed.
Weiss: "And suddenly, your recklessness makes sense."
Time Skip...
The scene shifts to Ozpin's office late at night. Ironwood is waiting with his arms crossed while Winter is impatiently pacing about. Suddenly, a smirking Qrow, accompanied by Goodwitch, Ozpin, Nick and Rossweisse, arrive in the elevator.
Winter: "What were you thinking!?"
Ironwood: "If you were one of my men, I would have you shot!"
Qrow: (pulls out flask at the three enter the room) "If I was one of your men, I'd shoot myself."
Nick: "I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case for all of his men."
Goodwitch: "While I wouldn't condone his behavior, retaliating like you did certainly wouldn't have helped the situation, Winter."
Rossweisse: "I agree."
Winter: "He was drunk!"
Goodwitch: "He's always drunk!"
The six turn to Qrow to see him drinking from a flask. His eyes widen when he notices them staring, and he holds the flask out to the side, looking at it awkwardly before grimacing.
Nick: "She's got 'cha there, Winter."
Ozpin: (stares at Qrow in shock, then sighs and sits down) "Qrow, why are you here?"
Ironwood: "You've been out of contact for weeks! You can't just go dark like that in the field!"
Qrow: "I'm not one of your special operatives, Jimmy!"
Winter: "General."
Qrow & Nick: "Whatever."
Qrow: "You sent me to get intel on our enemy, and I'm telling you, our enemy is here."
Ironwood: (leans against Ozpin's desk) "We know."
Qrow: "Oh! Oh, you know! Well, thank goodness I'm out there risking my life to keep you all informed!"
Ironwood: (exhales) "Qrow-"
Qrow: "Communication's a two-way street, pal. You see this? (pulls out his Scroll and points to it) That's the SEND button."
Winter: "They had reason to assume you'd been compromised."
Qrow: "And I have reason to assume you don't need to be here. (points to Winter) Seriously, who invited her?"
Ironwood: (after a moment of silence, without looking at her) "Schnee, we'll discuss this incident back at my ship."
Winter: (looks surprised) "But sir!"
Ironwood: "Winter. Leave."
Winter: (salutes Ironwood) "Yes sir."
She turns on her heel and gives the winking Qrow a dirty look as she exits via the elevator.
Nick: "For your information, Iron-brain, you won't be discussing anything with Winter. What happened in courtyard was avoided, you're welcome by the way, and nobody was hurt, and, like I said before, Qrow was the one who provoced Winter."
Qrow: "C'mon, man. I thought we were buds."
Ironwood: (gestures to Qrow) "Go on."
Qrow: "Your two little infiltrators aren't just other pawns. They're most likely with the ones who attacked Autumn." (takes a drink from his flask once more)
Goodwitch: "What?"
Qrow: "Despite what the world thinks, we're not just teachers, or Generals, or Headmasters. The people in this room, The leaders of the other two academies, we're the ones that keep the world safe from the evils that threaten to destroy everything! (getting up in Ironwood's face) It's why we meet behind closed doors, why we work in the shadows. So you tell me, James, when you brought your army to Vale, did you think you were being discreet, or did you just not give a damn!?"
Nick: "It's definitely the second one."
Ironwood: (stares down at Qrow as he places his Scroll on Ozpin's desk) "Discreet wasn't working."
The center of the room projects a hologram of Vale, Beacon Academy, the Amity Colosseum and Ironwood's fleet of Atlesian Airships, which he gestures to.
Ironwood: "I'm here because this is what was necessary."
Qrow: "You're here because Ozpin wanted you here! He made you a part of this inner circle and opened your eyes to the real fight that's in front of us!"
Ironwood: "And I am grateful."
Qrow: "Oh, well, you've got a real funny way of showing it."
Nick: "Yeah, no kidding."
Ironwood: "The people of Vale needed someone to protect them; someone who would act. When they look to the sky and see my fleet, they feel safe, and our enemies will feel our strength."
Qrow: (starts laughing) "You...You think they're scared of your little ships? I've been out there and I've seen the things she's made, and let me tell you - they are fear."
Ozpin: (standing up) "And fear will bring the Grimm. A guardian is a symbol of comfort. But an army is a symbol of conflict. There's an energy in the air now, a question in the back of everyone's minds... (gestures to the display) "If this is the size of our defenses, then what is it we're expecting to fight?"."
Ironwood glares at them before sighing and walking forward, picking up his Scroll.
Ironwood: "So then, what would you suggest we do?"
Nick: "...We get ready for the fight that's about to come."
Everyone else in the room look at Nick in confusion.
Ozpin: "What do you mean, Nick?"
Nick: "...The day Vale is destroyed...is in a few days."
Hearing this make everyone else shocked.
Rossweisse: "WHAT?! Vale will be destroyed in a few days?!"
Nick: "It'll be happening during the Singles Round in the Tournament. A full-scale invasion, much bigger then the Breach a while ago. Both Grimm, and the Black Fang. Most likely those two mysterious Kamen Riders as well."
Ironwood: "And you're just telling us this, NOW?! If we only have a few days, then we must act now!!"
Nick: "I already did! Why do you think I started Project Remnant Riders? I already gave the candidates their new Rider Gear a while ago, and they're ready. Here's the thing, Iron-brain...unlike you...I've been at the climax, from the very beginning."
Time Skip...
The next morning, the crowd sees the rigged match-up on the screen at the Amity Colosseum.
Port: (over the announcement system) "The randomization process is complete! Ladies and gentlemen, your doubles tournament line-up!"
As the announcement is heard, RWBY (Ruby) and NAAE (Unimaginable) cheer with arms raised, JNPR (Juniper) is seen providing applause, and SSSN (Sun) is shown sitting in front row seats. Bolin and Nolan are seen talking to each other behind RWBY (Ruby) and NAAE (Unimaginable). The camera shifts to Cinder and Neo, now watching her teammates in the seats as they both smile and cheer for Emerald and Mercury.
