Unfortunately, Constantine's plan could not be realized because Lucifer had already stated that he could not stop Fang Yuan's Time-stop state.
However, the fact that Satan could sense the Time-stop was enough to surprise Fang Yuan.
Fortunately, the System Panel was still more powerful.
"Lu?" Fang Yuan gave Constantine a strange look. "You're calling him that a bit too intimately."
"Starting to suck up to your new boss already?"
Constantine turned his head away, not wanting to deal with Fang Yuan, who had utterly screwed him over.
"Mammon wanted to descend to the Human World. What exactly are you trying to do?" Satan asked.
Fang Yuan shrugged. "Saving the World, obviously."
"Trading with Mammon to save the World?"
Lucifer chuckled. Reaching out, he pulled the inverted cross necklace from Fang Yuan's Sling Ring.
"I can't believe Mammon gave this to you," Lucifer said with interest. "I was the one who gave it to him."
"Uh..." Fang Yuan felt a bit awkward.
It was like he had tricked a child, and now the parent had come knocking on his door.
But then he said righteously, "Mammon gave this to me of his own accord. I didn't help him cause any trouble."
Fang Yuan's meaning was clear: Mammon gave it voluntarily, so he couldn't pull any of that 'minor refund' nonsense.
Fortunately, Satan didn't care about such things. He tossed the inverted cross necklace back to Fang Yuan.
He didn't care for the treasure, but the more he looked at Fang Yuan, the more interesting he found him.
"Are you interested in working for me?" Satan invited.
Fang Yuan remained unmoved and waved his hand. "I still prefer the Human World. Hell is too monotonous."
With so many pretty girls in the Human World, who would want to suffer in that post-nuclear wasteland of Hell?
Only demons, whose aesthetics differed from normal people, would miss the environment of Hell.
Lucifer was clearly very disappointed.
But since Fang Yuan could escape, Satan had no way to forcibly take him away.
"Fine, my invitation remains open indefinitely." He could only shake his head helplessly.
But when Lucifer saw Constantine, his mood brightened again.
Regardless, claiming Constantine was something to be happy about. He couldn't wait to toy with Constantine's soul.
Of course, before that, he had to discipline the disobedient child of the family.
Lucifer walked over to the edge of the pool, pulled up Isabel, who was possessed by Mammon, and then restored the flow of time.
*Clang!*
The lance of longinus in Gabriel's hand stabbed straight into the ground, only to find nothing there. Surprised, she looked up and immediately felt a surge of dark aura rushing at her, causing her to stagger.
"Lucifer!" Gabriel looked over in sheer amazement, not knowing why Satan would suddenly descend.
There was a barrier between Heaven and Hell, and neither Angels nor demons could enter the Human World at will, but Satan naturally ignored such seals.
"What is it, Gabriel?" Lucifer chuckled. "Are you getting anxious?"
"Have you realized that the Human World will one day be mine?" Satan asked.
"Son of Perdition, Little Horn, Most Foul!" Gabriel repeated Lucifer's former titles, growing more indignant with every word.
Satan, however, was delighted to hear them. "I truly do miss those old titles."
"However, it's time to go home, child," he said to Mammon, who had been incredibly well-behaved and hadn't dared to make a sound since he appeared.
The ground beneath their feet suddenly turned into a sea of Hellfire. Lucifer let go, and Mammon, still possessing Isabel, was cast back into Hell.
Seeing her plan fail, Gabriel immediately summoned all her strength, flapped her wings, and charged at Lucifer.
"In His name, I shall punish you!"
She was like a child seeking justice for a parent, wanting to teach a lesson to the big bad Satan who had repeatedly provoked her father.
But Gabriel's swinging fist stopped a centimeter from Lucifer's nose, unable to move any further.
She glared at Satan, thinking he was the one behind it, but Lucifer knew he hadn't done a thing.
"Hahaha!"
Satan burst out laughing, his eyes darting around. "It seems someone no longer supports you!"
Suddenly, a violent wind whipped up, and as it blew against Gabriel's wings, sparks began to fly.
"Father?" Gabriel's expression changed drastically.
She closed her eyes, trying to sense God's presence, but she could feel nothing—God had abandoned her!
At least, that's how it seemed to Gabriel.
In an instant, her entire wings were ignited. Gabriel was powerless as her wings were burned to ashes, leaving only bare stumps.
"What a waste!" Fang Yuan sighed as he slowly walked over. "Such good roasted bird wings."
Roasted Angel wings, just like those of mythical creatures, would surely be incredibly nourishing with just one bite.
Gabriel immediately shot a resentful look at Fang Yuan. Even if she was no longer an Angel, she still believed in God and would not allow Fang Yuan to disparage Angels.
However, neither Fang Yuan nor Lucifer was paying attention to her anymore.
After settling things here, Lucifer tossed Isabel aside; Fang Yuan hurried over to catch her and let her land gently.
In passing, he also pocketed the lance of longinus from the ground.
Who has so little civic-mindedness?
Throwing such a dangerous thing around—what if it hurt a child? Even if not, it wouldn't be good if it damaged the flowers and grass.
Better to let Fang Yuan take care of it.
Then, Lucifer skipped over to Constantine.
"Time to go, John!" he said happily.
Constantine didn't reply; he just stubbed out his burnt-out cigarette in the bloody water on the ground.
Things had come to this, and he had given up resisting.
At least the Human World had been saved.
Lucifer grabbed Constantine's arm and began dragging him across the ground. As he passed Fang Yuan, he blew him a kiss.
"I'll be waiting for you!" Lucifer said enthusiastically.
But his smile soon froze because, suddenly, Lucifer couldn't budge Constantine no matter how hard he pulled.
He looked back and saw holy light descending from the sky. Constantine's body was slowly rising, heading toward the Heaven that everyone dreamed of!
"Sacrifice?"
Lucifer's expression instantly darkened as he finally realized the problem.
Constantine had sacrificed his life to save the Human World, thereby earning the right to enter Heaven!
"No, he's mine!"
With a twisted expression, Lucifer was unwilling to let his prey fly away. He immediately rushed forward. Since Constantine could go to Heaven by dying for the World, then he simply wouldn't let him die!
Just then, Fang Yuan's voice suddenly rang out.
"Uh... I'm curious." Fang Yuan rubbed his chin. "I want to know, if you don't heal Constantine, would God actually take him?"
Upon hearing Fang Yuan's question, Lucifer's face stiffened for a moment, and then he suddenly burst into laughter.
That's true. A scourge like Constantine was loathed by everyone everywhere, except for Hell, which found him amusing.
Even this more heroic version of Constantine was the same. Would God really allow such a filthy thing to pollute Heaven?
"You old rascal, I almost fell for your trick," Lucifer grumbled toward the sky.
Then, he brought over two small stools and sat side-by-side with Fang Yuan, looking at the sky with curiosity to see if God would actually accept Constantine into Heaven.
They watched as the slowly ascending Constantine suddenly stopped in mid-air.
