Chapter 160 - One Against Five

Under Jangsen's protection, Pasfield retreated again and again. Now Jangerson finally understood what Ur had meant before the battle began. That warning hadn't been about guarding against the enemy at all—it had been a reminder to watch out for Ur's own attacks.

Pasfield felt immensely relieved. It was worth every price he had paid to hire Ur. Without him today, there was no way Pasfield would be leaving this icy island anytime soon.

In contrast, Diana's mood was far from pleasant.

Ur's sudden outburst had completely derailed her plans. Her expression was ice-cold as she stared at Ur, who was holding his own against five opponents without falling behind. Hatred flickered in her eyes from time to time.

A bunch of useless trash, Diana fumed inwardly.

The battle raged on.

Facing five enemies alone, Ur controlled the two giant claws as though they were demonic hands, unleashing unparalleled destructive force. Even Jelka and the others dared not confront the claws head-on, let alone the remaining cannon fodder from the hunters' guild.

"Raging Wave!"

"Starfire!"

Sico and Sipa cast their spells once more. But to Ur in his current state, the two, whose magic power hadn't even reached S-Class, posed far too little threat.

With a flick of his will, the black-and-crimson giant claw smashed down toward them.

Boom!

The ground trembled.

Their magic was crushed in a single slap. A massive palm-shaped crater was blasted into the ice. Fortunately, the twins had fled quickly; otherwise, their graves would have been conveniently prepared on the spot.

Their faces turned pale green with fright.

Damn it!

Why hadn't anyone told them beforehand that their opponent was such a monster?!

Boom!

Another slap descended.

This time, Ur targeted Jelka and Dio.

They narrowly evaded. The claw struck the ground, instantly fracturing the ice into spreading cracks. When the claw lifted, large amounts of water began seeping up from beneath the shattered layer.

Ur's Molten Giant Claw possessed dual attributes. Though the "flame" aspect was suppressed in this environment, his overwhelming magical reserves easily compensated.

Smack! Smack! Smack!

Ur's method of attack was simple, almost crude. He merely controlled the two giant claws and slammed them down at whoever he saw. Yet even so, Jelka and the others struggled to withstand it.

This was absolute power suppression. In such circumstances, unless one of the four possessed some bizarre, game-changing magic, any thought of turning the tide was pure fantasy.

Faced with this reality, where every attack was effortlessly neutralized, Jelka had no choice but to acknowledge the gap between herself and Ur.

At last, she revealed her trump card.

"Take-Over, Angel's Soul!" A golden pillar of light descended from the heavens, enveloping Jelka entirely.

Ur could clearly feel her aura surging upward in waves, her magic fluctuations growing stronger and stronger.

When the golden radiance faded, Jelka's entire presence had transformed. Her eyes gleamed pale gold, her expression solemn and majestic, as though she had become a completely different person.

Ur's expression turned serious as well. He had seen this technique before. He knew exactly how powerful Jelka became in this state. Though he didn't know whether she still possessed only a single decisive strike in this form, he couldn't afford to be careless.

Ding!

After Angel's Soul possessed her, another golden magic array appeared behind Jelka. It seemed like only one additional array. But in truth, the power of her spells would increase geometrically.

"Holy Light, Hexagram Formation!" Jelka tapped her staff lightly. Magic gathered within her, and in an instant, the six arrays behind her blazed with golden brilliance.

The next second, the six magic arrays shifted into an intricate formation. Bound together by magic, their power fused into one, continuously feeding back into Jelka's body and driving her magical energy even higher, until it reached a peak.

Suddenly, hundreds of small golden magic arrays materialized wildly in the sky above Ur's head. Before each array, a tiny point of light had already condensed.

"Holy Light, Meteor Shower!"

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

At Jelka's command, the arrays flared brilliantly, and golden beams rained down like a storm. Each streak carried astonishing destructive power.

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!

The spell posed a genuine threat to Ur. Immediately, he commanded the two giant claws to interlock their fingers, forming a shield that protected him beneath.

Those that struck the ground pulverized the ice into powder. Before long, even the rock beneath the frozen surface was exposed.

Thanks to the restorative effect of the Hexagram Formation, the golden rain lasted several full minutes before finally subsiding. When the Meteor Shower ended, the area was reduced to utter ruin. Ice fragments and powdered rock mixed, shaving an entire layer off the land itself. Even Ur's two Molten Giant Claws had been destroyed under that relentless barrage.

Just as Ur stepped out from the rocky remnants formed by the claws, Balen appeared, Sacred Blade in hand, slashing down at him with full force.

No one knew how he had navigated through such ferocious attacks to reach Ur's side. But his timing was impeccable. Any other mage caught off guard by such a sudden assault would have been helpless.

After all, setting aside the element of surprise, Balen was a Magic Swordsman. Once he closed the distance, even mages stronger than him could easily fall.

But, Ur was clearly not "any other mage."

Facing Balen's strike, Ur's expression did not change. Only the Dark Dragon Fang at his waist flashed from its sheath. With a crisp metallic ring, it collided instantly with the Sacred Blade.

Clang!

Sparks flew. The sudden counter was clearly beyond Balen's expectations. After Ur blocked the strike, Balen's movements froze for half a second.

Shing!

A cold flash of steel swept past.

A massive slash opened across Balen's chest, so deep that bone was visible. Before he could even react, Ur's foot slammed into his abdomen. The monstrous force nearly made Balen's eyes bulge from their sockets. With no ability to resist, he was blasted away like a cannonball.
