Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: Call Me Yumemite-sama!

Hearing the voice from behind, the girl trembled all over, screaming in fright, like a startled bunny, suddenly darting several meters away.

She raised her head, still shaken, and saw the previously vanished Ayanokoji Kiyotaka standing behind the bench, looking at her with a playful expression.

"Hey, what's wrong with you!" The girl deliberately lowered her voice, shouting with great force, "Don't you know doing that late at night is scary!"

The girl tried her best to act unfamiliar with Ayanokoji, hoping to deter him.

"If I disturbed you, then I apologize first."

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka paused, his eyes fixed on the other person, and suddenly asked, "Then, after apologizing, I should ask you. Are you someone I know? What are you doing here? Are you monitoring me?"

"What are you talking about? I'm not monitoring you! And I don't even know you. I'm just sitting here reading a newspaper!" The girl desperately wanted to distance herself from Ayanokoji. She said this while backing away.

"Wait, don't you want your dinner?" Ayanokoji held the bread and milk and walked towards the girl.

She hesitated for a moment, feeling that running away now would seem very suspicious, so she stood still and waited for Ayanokoji to approach her.

"Thank you," she whispered, taking the bread and milk. Just as she was about to leave, Ayanokoji suddenly said, "What news were you reading just now? Can you tell me? I'm very interested."

"Nothing special, I was just looking at stocks and entertainment news," the girl replied casually.

The newspaper she bought was just for cover; she had no intention of actually reading it.

Ayanokoji sighed lightly, as if greatly regretting, "That's truly a pity. I originally heard that today an idol girl was seen by a sasaeng fan while out on the street, followed home, and stabbed."

"Eh!? Is that true?" The girl quickly raised the newspaper, trying to find this news.

A few seconds later, she realized that Ayanokoji's words were clearly a lie. She put down the newspaper and shouted in angry embarrassment, "Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, you're messing with me, aren't you? Where is such news? You already knew it was me and are deliberately trying to pick a fight, aren't you!"

This girl was none other than the idol girl currently attending Hyakkaou Private Academy, Yumemi Yumemite.

Ayanokoji Kiyotaka had seen through her disguise, which was why he deliberately used sensitive words like "idol" and "sasaeng fan" to provoke her.

"That really happened. That sasaeng fan not only stabbed the idol but also, on the same day, stabbed another fan. That fan even reincarnated as the idol's child."

"Reincarnated? Fan? What are you talking about?" Yumemi was confused.

"Manga," Ayanokoji said concisely.

Yumemi rolled her eyes.

By this point, Yumemi Yumemite stopped pretending. She took off her mask, revealing her delicate face.

She sat back on the bench and said grumpily, "Alright, Ayanokoji, you know it's me. Are you satisfied now? Don't disturb me while I'm eating!"

With that, she picked up the bread and started eating.

"Just bread probably isn't enough to fill you up, would you like me to treat you to a meal?"

Ayanokoji also sat down beside her, pointed to the bar he had come from, and said with a smile, "The Chinese food at that restaurant is very delicious."

Yumemi glanced at it guiltily. Although tempted, she still refused, "No need, the bread is quite good."

She took off her mask and continued eating the bread, tearing it into small pieces and putting them into her mouth. She explained, "When I was an idol, I often ate bread when I didn't have time for meals because of dance practice. I'm used to it."

"I see..." Ayanokoji nodded, no longer inviting her, and continued to ask the question he had initially posed: "Yumemi Yumemite, why are you here?"

Ayanokoji was very curious why he would see her here, and why she would act so avoidant, as if she was afraid of being discovered by him.

As far as Ayanokoji knew, their relationship wasn't great, but it wasn't bad either. The last time he saw her, she even said that he should remember to invite her to her next event.

Yumemi was indeed an idol; her quick thinking was strong. She quickly thought of a reason: "I was just passing by here and suddenly got hungry, so I went to the supermarket to buy bread to eat."

"Then why were you wearing a mask while eating?"

"I'm an idol. When I saw someone coming, I was worried about being recognized, so I put on a mask." Yumemite used her identity to find a very good reason for herself.

"Then... why did you buy a newspaper?" Ayanokoji Kiyotaka asked another question, shaking the newspaper she had placed beside her: "Who reads newspapers these days, especially at night?"

"I, I..."

Yumemi Yumemite tried to find a reason, but after thinking for a long time, she couldn't come up with a reasonable explanation. She simply gave up explaining and became exasperated.

"Why do you have so many questions! I just like to read the newspaper while eating, is there a problem with that! Am I bothering you by eating here?"

"Alright, alright, no problem, of course no problem..."

Seeing her break down, Ayanokoji smiled and stopped pressing her. He watched her finish the remaining bread before saying, "Since you're done eating, let's talk."

"Talk about what?"

Yumemi Yumemite immediately became nervous again, but still stood up as if nothing had happened: "Let's talk about whatever it is tomorrow at school. I still need to go to the dance studio today, so I'll be leaving now."

With that, she tried to run away.

Ayanokoji looked at her back, a flash of inspiration struck him, linking it to Miharu Taki Sakura's account from the Amusement Park that day. Ayanokoji said thoughtfully, "Could it be that Yumemi Yumemite, you were sent by Mibuomi Aoi to monitor me?"

This was the most likely possibility Ayanokoji could think of.

Yumemi Yumemite turned around indignantly, as if she had been greatly slandered, and said, "Who are you talking about? You're Mibuomi Aoi's person! I have nothing to do with him!"

Ayanokoji was a little surprised. Seeing her so desperately trying to distance herself from Mibuomi Aoi, she probably wasn't Mibuomi Aoi's person... Then why was she here?

"Aren't you monitoring me?"

"Of course not. I have nothing better to do, why would I monitor you?"

Yumemi Yumemite denied Ayanokoji's guess outright, then suddenly remembered her current identity and proudly puffed out her chest: "Oh, by the way, I joined the Student Council yesterday! You have to call me Yumemite-sama now!"

This person actually joined the Student Council in such a short time?

"That's truly congratulations."

Ayanokoji clapped perfunctorily, then steered the conversation back to the original question: "Yumemi, if you weren't monitoring me, then who were you monitoring? Are you, perhaps, monitoring the owner of that bar?"

Ayanokoji pointed to the bar.

Yumemi's heart suddenly skipped a beat, but she quickly pretended not to hear what Ayanokoji was saying and said haughtily, "You should mind your manners. You should call me Yumemite-sama!"

"With all due respect, it's only your first day in the Student Council."

"Then I'm still a member of the Student Council!" She crossed her arms, a smug look on her face, and gloated, "Hurry up and call me! Ayanokoji, you must keep calling me until I'm satisfied!"
