Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Crying uncontrollably, Maya turned to Lily and asked, "Why would Akira do this to me? I thought we were best friends."

Lily gently wiped away Maya's tears, her voice filled with sadness. "Maya, Akira has been jealous of you for a while now. She's not happy about you being Alpha Glen's mate, and I believe she must have seduced him. I'm so sorry, Maya."

Feeling defeated, Maya whispered, "I can't go back to the mansion. I need to run away. You know what normally happens to the rejected mate."

Lily grabbed Maya's trembling hands and shook her head. "No, Maya. You can't run away. You need to fight for your rights. No matter what happens, Alpha Glen is still your true mate. Akira can only be his bed warmer."

Taking a deep breath, Maya nodded in agreement. With determination in their eyes, Maya and Lily left the venue behind.

Upon arriving home, they were met with the sight of luxurious cars parked outside the mansion. The realization of what was about to happen hit Maya like a tidal wave, and she couldn't hold back her tears any longer. Alpha Glen, Akira, and their guest, Alpha Blake Waters of the Shadow Pack, stepped outside.

Alpha Blake, captivated by Maya's beauty, expressed his admiration. "She is beautiful."

Alpha Glen smirked in response, "Beauty without a mate is useless."

Maya crumbled at the harsh words, her heart shattered. Lily held onto Maya's hand tightly, providing what little comfort she could offer.

But Maya pulled her hand away, mustering up the courage to confront Alpha Glen. She asked him, her voice trembling, "What is the meaning of this?"

Akira scoffed, mocking Maya. "Stop pretending, Maya. It's obvious that Alpha Glen has sold you. Besides, you know what happens to the rejected ones."

Tears streaming down her face, Maya looked directly at Alpha Glen. "You have no right to sell me. We have a bond mate. It cannot be broken."

Alpha Glen's anger flared, his voice filled with rage. "I have rejected you, Maya. From now on, you will address me as your Alpha, not your mate."

Maya lowered her head, unable to bear the weight of her shattered dreams. Tears flowed freely as Alpha Blake grinned with amusement, finding the situation entertaining.

Summoning her last bit of strength, Maya stood up and tried to walk away. But Alpha Glen stopped her, asking mockingly, "Where do you think you're going?"

Maya whispered, her voice filled with pain, "I wanted to go and pack my bags since I've been sold off."

Alpha Glen sneered, denying her request. "No, Maya. You won't take anything with you. I want everyone to see you as the miserable rejected mate that you are. That dress you're wearing is more expensive than all the rags you call clothes."

Lily's heart shattered into a million pieces, witnessing the cruelty inflicted upon her friend. Maya glanced at Akira, her tears pleading for an explanation. Akira coldly stated that Maya had more than one bad friend which is Lily because Lily knows about the rejection, but never warned Maya, and that she shouldn't worry because she would be warming Alpha Glen's bed tonight. She smirked triumphantly.

Maya look at Lily with a disappointed face. Lily was crying and shaking her head that it's not true.

Alpha Blake, growing impatient, interrupted the scene. "Enough of this. Can we go now?"

Alpha Glen nodded, giving a silent signal to Alpha Blake's rogues. They forcefully dragged Maya into the car and drove off, leaving Lily behind, crying out in despair. The other pack members watched with sadness, their hands tied by the rules of their society.

As Maya disappeared from sight, a sense of hopelessness settled over the pack, knowing that their beloved member had been betrayed and abandoned.

Inside the mansion, Alpha Glen and Akira entered the room, their lips locked in a passionate embrace. Alpha Glen pulled away, a triumphant smile on his face.

"This calls for a celebration," he declared. "No more hiding our affairs. We can be open about our relationship."

Akira, however, appeared somewhat melancholic. Alpha Glen noticed her change in demeanor and asked her what was wrong.

Alpha Glen asked, concern lacing his voice. "What's the matter, Akira? Aren't you happy?"

Akira sighed, her voice filled with uncertainty. "I'm just wondering, now that everything is okay within the pack, what about the company? Will the board members accept me as your open girlfriend?"

Alpha Glen laughed dismissively. "Don't worry about that, Akira. I am their Alpha, and they will follow whatever I say. I will introduce you to the board members tomorrow. Everything will be fine."

Akira's face lit up with joy. "That's wonderful! I'll go and bring some wine for our celebration."

Alpha Glen, however, halted her with his words. "Call a maid to do that. Remember, you're not a maid anymore."

Akira forced a smile and replied, "Of course, but I'll take care of it."

As Akira made her way towards the Mansion's wine storage, she overheard the maids inside gossiping about her. They spoke of her betrayal towards her best friend, Maya, and how remorseless she seemed.

Fury engulfed Akira as she swung the door open. The maids immediately fell silent, their eyes wide with fear. Akira commanded them to continue with their gossip, her voice seething with anger.

One brave maid locked eyes with Akira and voiced her disapproval. "What you did was wrong, Akira. Our pack is built on unity, and you've shattered that."

Akira clapped sarcastically, applauding the maid's courage. Enraged, she swiftly moved towards the maid, her wolfish instincts taking over. With a swift motion, Akira tore out the maid's heart and flung it to the floor, the sound of it shattering echoing through the room.

The other maids stood frozen, shock and fear gripping their hearts. Akira warned them, her voice dripping with menace, that the same fate awaited anyone who dared to speak ill of her or support Maya.

Akira surveyed the room, her eyes narrowing. She selected a bottle of wine and ordered the remaining maids to dispose of the body before she left.

As Akira made her way back to Alpha Glen, she licked the bloodstain off her hand, relishing in the taste. The other pack members who passed by her on their way were taken aback, their minds racing with thoughts about what could have happened for Akira to be stained with blood.

Upon reaching Alpha Glen, he noticed the bloodstain and exclaimed in shock. "Akira, where did you get blood on your hands?"

Akira licked her lips, a chilling smile spreading across her face. "I killed one of the maids."

Alpha Glen's voice rose with anger. "What? Why would you do that? You know the pack rules. We must not kill each other. Unity is the foundation of our pack."

Akira shrugged, her tone defiant. "Come on, Alpha Glen. The maid was rude, and you know the same rules state that any maid who disrespects the Alpha must face the consequences. I simply showed her the wrath she deserved."

Alpha Glen's confusion grew. "But, Akira, you're not the Alpha."

Akira's smile widened, a sinister glint in her eyes. "But you told everyone to give me the same respect they give you. That makes me have the same rights as you, Alpha Glen."

Alpha Glen was at a loss, unsure of how to respond. He realized that Akira's actions would cause tension among his followers and tarnish the reputation of the Wind Winder Pack.
