Chapter 2 - CHAPTER TWO — WHY AM I HERE?

The world was nothing but an empty vacuum—dark, silent. A boundless void stretching beyond sight, as if it had devoured the world and claimed existence for itself.

He slowly opened his eyes.

And he saw nothing but the far-beyond void…

He glanced left, then right— confused...

"Wh where… am I?"

His voice trembled, swallowed by the endless void.

Slowly, he lifted his hand into his line of sight — but something was wrong. The motion felt distant, disconnected, as if the limb wasn't truly his.

He couldn't feel the weight of it, not even the faintest brush of sensation across his skin.

He lowered his head and saw his body—whole, complete, every limb exactly where it should be.

Yet he couldn't feel any of it.

As if the body he was staring at wasn't even there.

And more importantly…

"Where… are my clothes?"

He tilted his head trying to scan the empty place.

"Am I... Is this?… hell?"

He whispered—yet the sound echoed back at him like a scream swallowed by a hollow eternity, as if he stood inside some vast, unseen chamber.

For just a bit moment of observing,

He moved both legs trying to stood up...

However, he realized there was no solid floor to stand on at all—he'd been floating the entire time in the void, drifting weightlessly like he was in outer space.

Confusion drawn across his face.

For a brief moment, he attempted to move—arms stretching, legs kicking—as if he could somehow drift himself into balance. But every motion felt wrong. His limbs slid through the weightless void with no no sense of direction.

Each attempt to steer himself only sent his body twisting in slow, disoriented spirals.

He tried again. And again.

No matter how many times he adjusted his posture or shifted his weight, nothing responded the way it should.

"Grr… H-how? Am I… su-supposed to move here?"

It was like trying to swim in a sea with no water—every gesture collapsing into helpless flailing.

As he uncontrollable drifted around

BUMP!

His head slammed into something—hard and solid like a wall enough to almost break his skull in half.

"What the…? H-huh?"

He recoiled, clutching his head, blinking through the sting.

He was sure he'd struck something solid, but when he turned around there was nothing—nothing but the endless, swallowing void stretching in every direction.

He blinked once, eyes widened, confusion carving itself into his face as his breath hitched.

He squinted, straining to see through the void.

Something was there… he could feel it, though his eyes betrayed him.

Cautiously, he lifted his hand toward it…

And froze.

Something blocked him. Not seen, but felt. Heavy. Unyielding. Invisible.

A presence that shouldn't exist… yet undeniably did.

"What the heck is this?..."

For bother brief moment he paused when Something shifted—like the darkness itself seems alive, swirling from left to right...

His eyes widened, and he rubbed them frantically, trying to convince himself he wasn't seeing things.

But true terror etched itself onto his pale face when he realized that what should have been an empty void had taken form—a figure emerging from the nothingness.

His gut twisted, he saw it.

"what... the?"

A ginormous... human-like figure... slowly merging, he froze as his eyes darting up—then up even more.

The figure kept growing larger the closer it loomed, until its head vanished into the darkness above.

"At last, for the first time, a light ignited in the endless darkness...

However this even make him more to passed out.

Its glowing eyes burned like twin suns staring straight into his soul.

His jaw dropped wide open, almost unhinged.

"You gotta be kidding me…" he whispered, voice cracking.

Then it came—

The giant's hand came down like a falling mountain.

His face drained of color as terror took over. he flailed, twisting, panicked—his instincts screamed.

He jerked his body, flailing like mad.

However... he didn't move an inch. Just floated there, stuck in place like an idiot.

"Ohhh no no no—WHY AM I NOT MOVING?!"

he screamed, face stretched in pure terror as the massive fingers curled toward him.

His mouth hung wide as the colossal hand shadowed over him. His panicked eyes darted left and right, like there was anywhere to run.

"Am I… am I gonna die AGAIN?!"

He scream tore through the silence, his voice cracking into a shrill, broken squeal.

His trembling hands clamped over his head as if trying to hold his skull together.

The colossal hand wrapped around him like a toy, lifting him effortlessly. His legs kicked uselessly, arms flailing.

Then, a thunderous voice rolled out from above, so deep it rattled his bones:

"SILENCE, MORTAL."

He instantly froze… only for his lips to blurt out again,

"Yea, yeah...sure, but, uh… don't kill me?"

The massive figure tilted its glowing head towards him which shiver his spine instantly...

"If I wanted you dead… you wouldn't be screaming right now."

He blinked, sweating over his pale face...

Then Without any warning... the giant hand's grip loosened,

"huh?"

Something shifted in the void.

This time, the gravity pressed on him—slow, dragging—pulling him downward.

A stark contrast to earlier, when he'd been utterly weightless, drifting like a lost fragment in the endless dark.

He plummeted like a ragdoll, arms and legs flapping, screaming that echoed whole way down until he smacked onto nothingness with a comedic "WHUMP!" He groaned, flat on his back.

He never thought their will be a floor this time...

"… my head…"

He groaned on the invisible floor, still dizzy from the toss.

From above the figure's voice boomed again

He instantly paused and this time smoother, almost casual:

"Wanna know why I summoned you here... Joseph—"

He not even looking up as he wave weak hand.

"Ahh… n, no thanks."

It's glowing eyes blinked,

"…Uhm… really? Why? You don't wanna know that—"

The colossal paused.

He was already tiptoeing away like a cartoon mouse, moving in slow-motion stealth, while The giant figure tilted its head, expression unreadable—half serious, half mockingly amused.

"...And where do you think you're going...? deep voice rumbled, curling around him like a chain

He froze mid-step, his breath hitching. A crooked, defeated smile crept onto his face as he forced a chuckle.

"Oh!... Just… stretching my legs."

his voice wavering, lifting his arm, rotating his hand counterclockwise in a mock stretch.

Then—

A thunderous snap ripped through the silence.

He froze—eyes wide—just as the void itself splintered, jagged cracks racing outward like shattered glass.

'what's happening?'

Lines of light split across the darkness like shattered glass. The black peeled away, dissolving into swirling galaxies and blazing stars.

Planets spun into existence, comets streaked past, and colors Joseph had never seen before painted the vast nothingness. It all moved like a time-lapse of creation itself—chaotic yet breathtaking.

He was floated in the center of it all, weightless, his body glowing faintly…

However the figure standing right in front of him almost as if he wasn't separate from this new cosmos, but part of it. His outline shimmered, blending into the tapestry of stars like a missing piece snapping into place...

He blinked twice...

His jaw dropped again. "Oh… holy shi—"

His voice rolled out, calm yet echoing with power:

"Now… do I have your attention?"

Joseph's throat tightened, breath shallow as sweat traced cold lines down his neck.

He blinked rapidly, mouth quivering as he forced out broken words.

"Wha… what do you want from me?"

The towering figure leaned closer, its glowing eyes locking onto Joseph's trembling form.

Until the voice came, low and deliberate:

"I summoned you… to help me."

A pause, the void itself holding its breath.

"And in return…" the grin widened, sharp as fate itself, "…I'll help you...."
