Chapter 89 - Beat ⁸⁹ ★Drama & Chaos”☆

"Drama & Chaos"

It was Thursday, and to Han, it felt boring already.

The idea that today was his first day working as a model made him feel strangely down… almost like he was heading to a funeral instead of a fashion studio.

Still half-asleep, he stood in front of the mirror, his hair messy and wild.

He stayed there for a few seconds, staring at his reflection carefully, like the guy looking back at him wasn't really him.

"So, what do you think?" he said to the mirror.

"Is this a tragedy?"

He kept a serious expression as he stared at his own reflection in the mirror.

"Answer me… isn't it a huge tragedy for a guy this handsome to go and lock himself inside that place for hours…

like a prisoner?"

"Oh God, I feel so miserable…" he let out a heavy, exhausted sigh.

"I feel like my heart is about to stop and I might just die on the spot," he said, placing a hand over his chest.

"Ugh… I should just go get ready. Maybe—who knows—someone might be waiting to comfort me," he whispered, then continued with his morning routine.

**********

Smart was ready and waiting for Han to come pick him up.

He was dressed a bit differently today, but it suited his look perfectly.

He wore a pair of wide blue jeans with a low-rise fit, a white T-shirt with short sleeves, and over it, a thin pink zip-up jacket left open. He paired it with some pink sneakers.

A silver chain hung around his neck, making him look effortlessly trendy.

Around his jeans, he had tied a scarf, giving him that modern model vibe.

His hair was parted in the middle, showing off his big, beautiful eyes.

He prepared a simple breakfast, even for Zoi, who was getting ready to go to school.

"Wow… so cute today in that outfit, and hmm… so cool at the same time—

my brother is just so… so…se.."

"Zoi, stop—what are those words coming out of your mouth?" Smart interrupted immediately.

After they both finished breakfast, they sat on the balcony, each holding a glass of milk.

"Smart," Zoi said, smiling.

"Do you think you should tell me something?

Smart took a sip of milk without looking at her.

"What? What should I tell you?

What do you want to hear?"

"Hmm… you know—if there's something you need to tell me!

You know I'm not a child, I understand a lot…"

"For example?" Smart asked.

"The one who comes almost every day to pick you up… it's Jin, isn't it?"

Smart turned to her, staring in surprise.

"Don't look at me like that. I'm not deaf, and I'm not blind.

If he makes you happy, then I'm even happier for you," she said with a smile, showing off her cute, pale face.

Smart watched her, thinking how fast she was growing.

Until yesterday, he used to hold her like a tiny doll… and now she was speaking like a real young lady.

"My puffi… when did you grow up so fast?

I don't want you to grow! I want you to stay just like this forever!" Smart said, ruffling her hair.

She looked him straight in the eyes.

"So… how are things?"

"Hmm… things are good," he winked.

"Just as I thought… heh, it turned out exactly like this," she said, her voice soft and playful, then immediately threw herself into his arms, hugging and kissing him non-stop.

"Zoi, calm down.

You're happier than I am," Smart laughed, gently pushing her away.

"I'm super happy… looks like I'm going to have another handsome guy on my list, besides Leo!"

"Okay, okay—now sit down and drink your milk. It's almost time for school."

She calmed down a bit, then started speaking in a low voice, almost through her teeth, as if she wanted to say something but didn't have the courage.

"Tell me—what mistake did you make?" Smart asked immediately.

"I… that night when I went out for Nikit's birthday… there… I…"

"Zoi, cut it short—

you gave him my number?"

Zoi opened her eyes. "How do you know?" she asked right away.

"Fuck… just what I suspected," Smart thought.

"Don't I know you?" Smart asked, looking her straight in the eyes.

"That night when you came, you didn't look me in the eyes, and I knew something had happened.

The next day, when he texted me, I thought it might have been you who gave him my number—but I wasn't sure until now, when you confirmed it."

"You're not mad at me?" she asked, lowering her eyes.

"Tell me—was it the first time he got close to you?" Smart asked, looking her in the eyes to make sure she wasn't lying.

"I swear… it was the first time. I just… got carried away by his words, and I felt bad, so I gave him your number."

Smart took a deep breath, not wanting to show that he was annoyed, because he didn't want Zoi to get curious and ask more.

"Okay… I trust you. And let this be the first and last time you face him.

If he comes near you again, you must call me directly—understood?"

Zoi nodded, accepting everything without asking a single question.

"Okay… now get ready to go downstairs. Hani's coming, and we'll take you to school."

Zoi ran to grab her bag from the room, while Smart stayed for a moment, gazing at the beautiful sky.

"Shen… I swear, if you show up in front of Zoi again, I'll kill you with my own hands," Smart whispered, gripping his glass of milk tightly.

"You won't escape my hands—I swear it!"

✧ — ✧ — ✧

Hani arrived.

He saw that Smart was on the balcony, but still decided to call.

Smart kept hanging up the phone, thinking Hani would see him and go back downstairs.

But Hani kept calling nonstop.

Smart finally answered, and without letting him speak, said,

"Stay right there… and with the way I'm feeling right now… I'll kill you."

He hung up immediately.

"What's his problem?

Isn't today supposed to be my disaster day?

He's supposed to cheer me up, not steal the spotlight of my day…" Hani whispered, lighting a cigarette.

As soon as Smart and Zoi got into the car, Hani started with his complaints and didn't shut up the entire way.

The only one keeping up with him was Zoi.

As always, she adapted effortlessly to everyone around her.

Jin was in his office, sipping his morning coffee, but his mind was on Smart.

He got up and looked out the window, but there was no sign of him.

"Hmm… why are you taking so long?" Jin grabbed his phone and started typing a message.

✉️ Babe, where are you?

✉️ On the way, with Hani… we'll be there soon.

Did you miss me?

Jin smiled and quickly replied.

✉️ Missed you so much… can't wait to see you. How about you?

Smart read the messages and chuckled to himself so much that Han noticed and nudged him, teasing, "Look at you, such a dork."

But Smart didn't pay any attention to Han's words—he just snapped a photo of himself and sent it with a caption beneath:

✉️ Infinitely… ⭐

Jin couldn't hide the excitement inside him!

He zoomed in on the photo several times, staring at Smart's beautiful face.

✉️ Who does this cute face belong to?

He sent it, his eyes still glued to the phone, when a message popped up:

✉️ All yours…

In his office, all he could feel now were the beats of his own heart—nothing else mattered.

Jin stared at his phone again.

Why does he look so different today? So… hmm… cute and… hmm… sexy at the same time…

Jin muttered under his breath, not taking his eyes off it.

"What the heck are you doing, Han? You're driving like a tired skeleton…"

"You're right!" Han muttered. "Today, I am a tired skeleton. I'm just giving the car a push… barely.

Look, I can't even press the gas too hard, or the bones in my foot might break.

I don't even know how my hands are staying on the wheel… they could break too if I squeeze them.

Uhh… I'm a skeleton that could shatter at any moment," he said, his voice heavy with gloom.

"What the fuck, so much drama—stop the car right now!" Smart said, unbuckling his seatbelt.

Han slammed the brakes in the middle of the road.

"I swear I'll kill you with my own hands if you keep stopping like this in the wrong way!

Shouldn't you find a proper spot to stop? How can you just halt in the middle of the street and block the road?!"

"Eh… you told me to stop right now, what's your problem then?"

"You said stop… so I stopped," Han muttered.

"Get out, let's switch seats," Smart said, rushing out and grabbing the steering wheel.

He pressed the gas immediately and took off, eager to see Jin as soon as possible.

After a few minutes of driving, Smart was starting to get a headache from Han's constant complaints and sulky mood.

Finally, they arrived, and Smart parked the car in front of the building, while Jin was watching from his office window.

Smart got out, but Han had no intention of unbuckling his seatbelt.

"Damn it—you've given me a headache the whole way! Get out of the car now, don't drive me crazy!" Smart shouted, but Han didn't even consider moving.

Smart didn't wait. He opened Han's door, grabbed him by the arm, and sent him flying out of the car.

"I don't want to go!" Han whined, behaving like a spoiled child who cries all day.

""Move. Step forward—don't make me grab you and drag you," Smart snapped.

Jin watched the whole scene from his office window, smiling the entire time and shaking his head at how cute the two of them looked.

Strangely, Jin didn't feel an ounce of jealousy toward Han. In fact, he felt good knowing they'd be together, and that Smart would feel better having someone by his side.

"Han, move— we're running late. What are you trying to do?"

"Let's be late, I don't want to," Han muttered.

"Why are you so gloomy before even starting your first day?!

You're acting like you're walking straight into your death, you spoiled baby."

"Exactly…" he muttered. "Feels like my life ends in this closed-off place."

Smart laughed.

"You haven't even seen the workplace yet, and you're already imagining it as a graveyard?

Careful… you might actually like it and never want to leave!"

"This can't be happening," he muttered, walking like a robot, not paying attention at all.

Suddenly, his head bumped into someone's chest.

"Uff!" Han groaned, touching his forehead.

"Damn… why can't people watch where they're going?" he muttered, stepping back.

He kept his head down, noticing the person in front of him had arms and forearms covered in tattoos.

"Can someone really have this many tattoos?" he wondered for a moment.

The height difference was huge, and Han had to look up to meet the other person's eyes.

His tired eyes slowly lifted, and their gazes met.

Now Han could see clearly—a person taller than him, broad-shouldered, impossible to miss.

In front of him stood a guy with a perfect build.

The cap on his head made him look effortlessly cool, giving off a seriously trendy vibe.

"Why does your face look so familiar?" Han muttered.

The guy in front heard him, but didn't react.

Han's eyes lingered for a few seconds on the other's, partially hidden by thick black hair, before drifting down to his neck, where another tattoo peeked out.

"Can people really be this crazy?" he whispered softly—but the guy in front caught every word.

"I'm one of them," the deep, commanding voice said.

"Besides being crazy, are you blind or what? Can't you watch where you're going?" Han snapped immediately.

The guy just smiled lightly, saying nothing.

"What are you? A robot?" Han continued, pressing his hand hard against the guy's chest.

"Do you know you just gave me a headache from that bump?" He touched his forehead with his hand.

"What's in your chest—are you made of steel?"

"If you want to see, I'm ready to show you," the guy said, grabbing Han's hand and pressing it firmly against his chest.

"Let go!" Han yanked his hand back.

"I don't need to know a thing, you crazy…"

"Next time, watch where you're going—and get out of my way!"

Smart apologized to the guy for Han's behavior, then grabbed Han by the arm and pulled him closer.

"Move ahead and don't get on my nerves. You're the one at fault here—so what do you do? Blame him?" Smart said, giving Han a light tug on the ear.

"I'm not at fault—he's just a clueless bighead, acting all tough. And now, let go of my ear before you snap it," Han said, elbowing Smart playfully.

"Ugh… it's going to be a long day, and somehow I just know his nonsense isn't ending here," Smart thought as they made their way toward the studio.

Smart opened the door, dragging Han inside.

The moment Han stepped into the studio, his eyes went wide. He spun his head around, not knowing where to look first.

The place was cool, music playing in the background, making everything shine in his eyes. But what really caught him off guard were the beautiful model girls.

He almost dropped his jaw and grabbed Smart's hand, squeezing it tight.

"Told you you'd like it," Smart said, laughing.

"Wow—this is so cool! The vibe here is amazing. I love it," Han said quietly, still staring at the models.

"Alright, enough," Smart said, grabbing his face and turning him toward himself.

"Focus on work."

"What focus? I can't focus!" Han replied, still wide-eyed.

"Hey Smart—"This is your friend, the one Jini told me about," Mei said with a smile.

"Hey Mei, this is Han. And just so you know, he's going to give us a lot of trouble—he's rebellious," Smart warned.

"No worries, I've got him," Mei said, taking Han by the arm and showing him around the studio, introducing him to the other models and the staff.

She then explained the workflow and gave him a quick lesson on how to pose

Han got ready for the photoshoot. His outfit and makeup were almost perfect, really bringing out his cute features.

At that moment, Nova walked into the studio, and her eyes immediately landed on Han and Smart. She started heading straight toward them.

"Here comes the snake," Smart whispered lightly.

"That's the one who's obsessed with Jini," Han muttered.

"Yeah," Smart said, "but don't stare."

"Leave it to me—I'll deal with the snake!" Han said, grinning.

"Hi—I'm Nova," she said, acting all sweet and friendly.

"I'm glad to see you, Nova," Han said, smiling.

"I'm Han—the most handsome model in the company now."

"Hmm, Smart, your friend is really funny… but also super cute," she said, looking Han in the eyes.

Smart just smiled, saying nothing. He watched her closely, trying to figure out what she was planning in her mind.

Han continued with the photoshoot, and everything went almost perfectly. Everyone was impressed with his work, and of course, he couldn't resist bragging a little to Smart about himself.

When the shoot wrapped up, the two of them got ready to leave the studio, but Han lingered, waving goodbye to everyone in turn—making sure not to miss anyone, from the models to the editors and anyone else around.

Han managed to make almost the entire staff his friend in just a few hours of work.

"Smart, let's grab a coffee," he said, tossing his bag over his shoulder.

"Hmm, okay—but let's swing by Jin first, he's waiting for me, then we can get coffee," Smart replied.

"Alright, I'll go sit up front—see you there," Han said.

"Mmm, okay my baby—see you in a bit," Smart said, running her fingers through Han's hair.

"My baby, my ass," Han muttered, heading toward the café.

Smart rushed to Jin's office and opened the door right away.

"I'm here!"

His words got stuck in his throat when he realized Jin wasn't alone.
