"This is your little brother."
After their hands parted, Mukuro pulled the other two jars out of the backpack and placed them on the ground.
Choso's eyes locked onto his hands. Without realizing it, he even crouched down, afraid Mukuro might accidentally drop and shatter the jars.
Even though he knew his brothers were not that fragile.
"What can I do for you?"
Though he was still like a child, after reading the host's memories, Choso already understood that humans often dealt with each other through benefits and trades.
And after being given a body, as long as Mukuro did not plan to harm the brothers, he was willing to pay some kind of price.
"It's not really that big of a deal. Who knows, you might even end up begging to help out... We can talk about it later. What we need to deal with right now is this."
Mukuro pointed at the jars on the ground.
His meaning was obvious. What mattered now was giving the other two a body.
"I'll do it..."
"But I need to warn you first. You should already know where the Death Painting Wombs came from. After they incarnate, they'll most likely be different from normal humans. They won't be like you."
Just as Choso impatiently reached for the jars, Mukuro poured cold water on his hope.
Choso was the first stage after the fetus died. His body had barely changed. But the later ones were different. Starting from the third, they could not even hold a human shape anymore.
"If you want them to incarnate and live as humans, you'd better be prepared. Most likely, the only place they'll have a home is at Jujutsu High," Mukuro added another warning.
That was why he had not made all three incarnate at once.
He left the choice to Choso, the older brother.
"That..." Choso's hand froze in midair.
What if his brothers could not live like humans after incarnating? Would they have to live as curses instead? But they were supposed to be human in the first place...
His pale hand hung there, unmoving. The eldest of the Death Paintings fell into a painful dilemma.
For a moment, he even wished he was still just a cursed object. That way, he would not have to worry about anything. He could simply stay with his brothers, depending on each other like before.
After all, that was how it had been for the past one hundred and fifty years.
But now he had a body.
How could he let his brothers keep suffering that loneliness?
"Noritoshi Kamo, the one who created you, also had a human child with his bloodline over ten years ago. That boy has no family now, which means—"
"I have another little brother... living all alone?!"
Before Mukuro could finish, Choso blurted it out first. His eyes were full of disbelief.
During those long years, although he and his brothers were cursed objects, they were still together.
They had each other. On lonely nights, they would even talk.
But now he was being told there was another brother, a human one, living helplessly in this world by himself?!
"I only took the first three Death Painting Wombs. The rest are too weak. If you want to stay by your human brother's side, you'll need at least the strength of Number 3."
To Mukuro, any of them were as weak as ants he could crush with a step. But for younger ones, the first three at least had some strength.
"His life has been painful. He lives only to die in a way that has meaning."
That final sentence made the mark across Choso's nose begin to bleed.
"I want to be with my brothers!"
There was no hesitation left on Choso's face.
If his brother was human, then he had to do everything he could to fulfill his duty as an older brother.
How could he let him live in pain all by himself?
He reached into both jars and pulled the remaining two cursed objects out of the unknown liquid.
Seeing that, Mukuro kindly grabbed the two unconscious inmates by the hair and dragged them upright, making it easier for Choso to force the objects into their mouths.
"Ah!"
The instant they swallowed them, both men were ripped awake by pain. They screamed and rolled on the ground.
Then the changes began.
In the blink of an eye, the two inmates were gone. In their place were Death Painting Number 2 and Number 3.
Eso and Kechizu.
"Big brother."
Eso's bulky muscles tore his shirt apart, revealing a pattern on his back. It looked rotten, like a demon's mouth spread wide.
But overall, he still did not look too different from a human.
"Brother..."
Kechizu, on the other hand, no longer looked human at all.
His whole body was green. His oversized head looked like a decayed face, with another mouth under it, one that only had a few teeth left.
When he spoke, he sounded like a little kid whining for attention.
After they incarnated, both of them happily rushed to Choso's side and called out to him.
"I'm sorry. I selfishly made this choice for you. No matter what happens, I'll stay with you."
Seeing what Eso and Kechizu looked like, Choso lowered his head in guilt and explained where everything came from.
To him, they were adorable. But living in the world as humans with bodies like this would definitely bring trouble.
"We're your little brothers."
Eso smiled until his eyes narrowed into crescents. Kechizu kept nodding hard.
They would always trust their brother's choice.
"You two..." Choso bit his lip, unable to speak.
"Alright, now for the serious part. I'll speak to the old men in the upper ranks and have you officially join Jujutsu High as jujutsu sorcerers, so you can live in this world as humans. And what you'll do is teach the students from both schools from a curse's point of view. Especially one Kamo clan member I'm responsible for."
Watching the three brothers together, Mukuro finally said what he wanted and what he needed.
That trash Kamo technique would be better taught by a real specialist like Choso.
As for having a human identity, Eso and Kechizu would obviously be hated by most ordinary people. Whether they wanted to interact with the outside world, or ignore those looks, that was their decision.
"Before that, can you let us meet our new brother?"
Now that the future was set, everything else could wait.
Right now, Choso only wanted to meet the lonely brother as soon as possible.
He lived for his brothers.
And at the same time, he wanted to be a proper older brother. He wanted to become the hope his brothers could rely on, so they could keep living in this world.
