Training ground 7; at 5 am,
Kudo walked through the small thicket of trees; it was still dark, with a chill as fall was almost over and winter encroached on Konoha.
Kudo sat down and started meditating, placing 3 leaves, one on the forehead, one on each shoulder blade. As he circulated chakra through his chakra points, the 3 leaves stayed firmly in place as he tried to speed up his chakra circulation as fast as possible while keeping it steady.
One minute…5 minutes and eventually 30 minutes went by, and Kudo hadn't even broken a sweat.
He stopped circulating his chakra and started channeling towards a fuinjutsu seal located on the two bracelets he wore on each hand. Seal markings made their way up his arms, and within a second he almost slumped as his body felt heavy, like Zetsuei was lying on his shoulders.
(A/N: The original idea was to have a zero state for the seal being the same as experiencing normal gravity, but that complicates things. So, level 1 of the seal will just be normal gravity, and level 10 will be ten times the normal gravity, but he can't reduce the gravity experienced below normal gravity. Like stated earlier, still assume 10m/s2 as gravitational acceleration.)
The leaves, which had been steady as rocks, fluttered for a bit as he focused. Gradually he increased the gravity on himself; 1.3G to 1.7G until 2.0G. At 2.0G, he was expending more chakra to maintain the leaves than necessary, and he knew it. ' I guess this is where I gotta lock in.' Although daunting, he felt exhilarated because he could only grow stronger if he kept at it.
10 minutes in and he was sweating profusely, the sweat dripping onto the blades of grass. As more time passed, his veins became taut, and the strain felt like it was accumulating instead of him getting used to it.
An hour later, his clothes were drenched, and his breathing, which had been steady, now came in broken rhythms. 'Just a bit more.' He thought as he channeled his chakra, but instead of it moving as easily as always, it felt like he was moving a heavy sludge, as the chakra easily flowed downwards but was difficult to get to flow upwards.
Eventually, after 1 hour and 30 minutes, he had been meditating for about 2 hours, and he was exhausted. He fell backwards onto the grass, breathing heavily. "What a crazy idea. I thought I could manage it easily, but damn, that was misery." Kudo lay down, but he hadn't failed outright, as there was still chakra present, about ¾ of his total chakra pool.
However, his crazy ideas were just beginning. A couple of minutes later, Kudo stood at the base of the tallest and thickest tree he could find in the training ground.
With a jump start, while leaning back, he allowed himself to land perpendicular to the trunk of the tree. He ran up the tree quickly reaching the top of the tree that was 40 feet (12.192 metres) and had a width of 25 inches (63.5 centimetres). His body shot through the air, reaching the top in less than a second. Standing at the top, "This is a nice view." Kudo smiled as there was nothing but green trees around him and a blue sky. The village buildings with multiple floors were visible just a few kilometres away. Kudo descended the tree in calm strides, his feet barely leaving any shoe imprints in the tree trunk. It was proof of his already more than average chakra control, but he wanted to get better. At the base, he increased the seal to 2G and took a moment to feel the massive pressure on him. "Here we go!" He dashed towards the tree, like before, aiming to land perpendicular to the trunk as he jumped, but his chakra control was wobbly. "Thump! Crack!" He landed heavily on the trunk, breaking off some bark as his feet sank into the tree. "Oh no!" His chakra flailed as he fell, but luckily he was just 2 meters above ground.
"Damn, that hurt." Kudo rubbed the back of his head, looking at the small crack on the ground. "Again!" He rushed up again, and this time he stayed up, but his feet broke into the trunk again. 'Too much chakra. It's hard to stay like this.' Kudo jumped back onto the ground. Standing perpendicular to the ground while the seal was on made it hard to stand straight; his body leaned down, with his legs bearing the load as he remained firmly attached, but not for long.
2 hours soon went by. At the peak of a tree that was barely holding up, a boy stood perched on its stoop, taking in the view; he had a couple of scratch marks, and his clothes and himself had dust all over. "Well, that's two down!" Kudo roared as he jumped straight to the ground, the tree falling in the background.
He made his way to the largest water source in the training ground. Instead of being fully clothed this time he took of his clothes, left only in his boxers he walked forward. "Let's do this."
Once again, he went over his water, walking under the 2G of the seal. Several times he fell into the river, the cold water leaving him shaking, but over and over he did it until, finally, at the end of the session, he could stand on the water with sinking underneath it.
After a morning of intense chakra control exercises, having exhausted both his physical power and spiritual power, he left for lunch.
Walking down the main street, Konoha was bustling as always, with rare sights: homeless people or orphan children running around. The Hokage faction knew how to rush the village and keep the people appeased.
"Hmm, what to eat? Not Ramen, had that too much back at the inn, plus broth is out for a long time," He shivered recalling Shizune's smiling face as she fed him broth over and over again. "Let's do dumplings." He decided to walk over to a popular restaurant.
The restaurant was busy, but a lone figure drew his attention, her pink hair recognizable anywhere. "Sakura!" Kudo walked over, tearing apart the air of gloom around her.
