"Come out, Ampharos—use Thunderbolt!" Yozora raised his hand and shouted.
A dazzling surge of electricity erupted, spreading out like a massive net in all directions.
This Thunderbolt wasn't at full strength; Ampharos had deliberately lessened its power but widened its range. Even so, the arcs of lightning struck nearly every Mankey and Primeape in the area.
"Gyaaa—!!"
The troop of Mankey and Primeape shrieked in agony as electricity engulfed their bodies.
Ampharos's level was far too high, its power overwhelming. Even holding back, the attack was still more than the troop could endure.
Within moments, all of the Mankey and Primeape lay collapsed, charred black and twitching, their eyes rolled back in defeat.
Yozora didn't spare them a second glance and simply pressed forward.
This was Mt. Silver—a place where only powerful trainers dared venture. For these wild Pokémon to dare ambush travelers here, it meant they'd been hardened by countless battles. Yozora was certain they would recover quickly and simply wait for their next prey…
Two hours later, Yozora finally spotted it: the lithe, elegant silhouette of Suicune in the barren wilderness.
The instant he stepped into the clearing, Suicune turned its head. Their eyes locked.
"I've come, Suicune," Yozora said calmly.
"Roaaaar!" Suicune's voice rang out like a resonant howl, its stance low and sharp—battle-ready.
"You're even more eager than I am," Yozora chuckled. He tossed a Poké Ball into the air. "Go, Buzzwole!"
"HEE-YAH!!"
The towering, muscle-bound Ultra Beast landed with a gleam, striking an absurdly narcissistic pose to flaunt its bulging arms at Suicune.
But Suicune answered with a roaring Hydro Pump.
The blast struck Buzzwole head-on, launching the giant bug through the air. He crashed into a boulder with an explosive boom, shattering it to pieces.
"Buzzwole… could you at least try to take this seriously?" Yozora sighed.
Though Buzzwole had the advantage in both level and potential, his opponent was still a Legendary Pokémon. Underestimating Suicune would only end in disaster.
"Buzzwole!!"
At Yozora's voice, Buzzwole's expression sharpened. He pushed off the ground in a blur, muscles flexing, finally ready to give the fight his all.
Suicune's expression darkened in turn.
It respected Yozora's character and potential, but never—never—had it expected him to command such a terrifying creature.
What even was this "mosquito"? Suicune had never seen its kind before, but the aura radiating from Buzzwole was undeniable. This being was its equal… or stronger.
"Charge in, Buzzwole! Use Power-Up Punch!" Yozora commanded.
Buzzwole lunged forward at incredible speed. But Suicune was faster.
"Shoom—shoom—shoom!"
Suicune darted gracefully across the rocky terrain, weaving in and out of Buzzwole's reach, unleashing Hydro Pump after Hydro Pump in rapid succession.
Buzzwole took several hits, dodged others, while the missed torrents slammed into the cliffs around them, blasting the mountainside apart with deafening explosions.
The tremors reverberated throughout Mt. Silver. Trainers across the mountain paused in alarm.
Wild Pokémon scattered in panic, fleeing like frightened birds.
This—this was the power of an Elite Four-level battle.
No… even higher.
For these were no ordinary Pokémon, but a Legendary and an Ultra Beast. Their raw biology alone magnified their power far beyond mere level.
At this rate, they were fighting on par with Champion-tier Pokémon.
Suicune's strength was staggering.
Buzzwole was blasted back again and again by Hydro Pump, fresh bruises and gashes appearing across his muscular frame.
But his endurance was monstrous. Even battered, his energy only grew fiercer, his excitement swelling with each blow.
Then—"BOOM!"
Another Hydro Pump caught Buzzwole off guard, knocking him off balance.
Suicune's body flared with golden light—it had used Extreme Speed!
In a blur, it zig-zagged around the battlefield, launching not one, but two Hydro Pumps mid-dash.
Buzzwole, flung backwards, had no chance to evade.
"Buzzwole! Use Harden!" Yozora roared.
A golden gleam wrapped around Buzzwole's body just as the twin blasts crashed into him.
The three Hydro Pumps slammed him into a stone cliff with an earth-shattering crash.
The cliff exploded apart, smoke and mist flooding the sky.
But when the dust cleared, Buzzwole dropped down to the ground—still standing, eyes blazing.
Suicune's eyes widened in shock. Was this creature… unbreakable?!
It didn't know that Buzzwole's Stamina ability had triggered repeatedly. His Defense had already maxed out, quadrupled in strength.
Now, Buzzwole's defense rivaled that of a Champion-tier Pokémon.
Suicune's Hydro Pumps barely scratched him.
And with Buzzwole's immense vitality, he only grew stronger the longer the fight dragged on.
His Speed Boost ability also triggered, his movements growing sharper and sharper.
At first, Suicune had easily outpaced him. But now—his speed also had quadrupled.
"Buzzwole, now the real battle begins! Power-Up Punch!!"
Buzzwole shot forward like lightning. No matter how Suicune fired, its attacks missed.
Despite Buzzwole's massive frame, he moved with shocking agility, dodging every Hydro Pump while closing the distance.
He leapt high above Suicune, both colossal fists raised.
"BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!"
Each punch struck true, golden light flaring across Buzzwole's body.
The effect of Power-Up Punch activated—each hit boosting his Attack even further. With every blow, his strength snowballed higher and higher.
"RAAAH!!"
Suicune cried out in anguish as the ground erupted beneath it, dust clouds blotting the sky.
When the dust settled, a crater more than a hundred meters wide scarred the battlefield.
Suicune lay within it, bloodied and battered, body trembling weakly.
Its stamina was nearly spent. For a Legendary, to even remain conscious after such a beating was remarkable.
"Fwoosh—!!"
Suddenly, Suicune forced itself up once more, its aura blazing to the heavens. It launched forward in a blinding golden streak.
Extreme Speed!
"Buzzwole—catch it! Use Vital Throw!!"
Buzzwole braced his chest, absorbing Suicune's strike. His chest dented backwards, then snapped forward like a spring.
Seizing the momentum, he grabbed Suicune's body and hurled it down with a bone-rattling slam.
"BOOOOM!!"
Another crater split open.
This time, Suicune didn't rise. It lay sprawled in the pit, exhausted, its breaths ragged and shallow.
"It's time—go, Luxury Ball!"
The ball struck Suicune, opened, and with a flash of red light, captured it.
One shake… two… click!
Suicune was caught.
"HEE-YAH!!"
Buzzwole bounded over, retrieving the Luxury Ball and placing it reverently in Yozora's hand. He waved goodbye.
"You're injured. Aren't you going to rest first?" Yozora asked.
Buzzwole shook his head. He turned skyward, wings buzzing, and flew off, soon vanishing beyond the clouds.
Yozora knew. Buzzwole could not tear space open like stronger beings could. But as an Ultra Beast, it was born sensitive to wormholes that linked to Ultra Space. It was returning to seek them out.
Only when Buzzwole disappeared from sight did Yozora look down at the Luxury Ball in his palm.
"Suicune… I've finally captured you."
Sensing nearby humans through Aura, Yozora quickly left the battlefield, finding a cave where he released Suicune.
The Legendary lay quietly on the ground, bathed in a soft, aqua glow as its body healed itself.
Not a move like Recover—just its natural regenerative ability. Slow, but steady.
Even so, Yozora sprayed a Potion to ease its pain, gently patting its head afterward. Such a majestic, regal creature…
Pokémon: SuicuneType: WaterAbility: Pressure (its overwhelming aura causes foes to tire more quickly)Level: Mid–Elite Four tierPotential: Tier-3 LegendaryMoves: Hydro Pump, Water Pulse, Surf, Brine, Calm Mind, Extrasensory, Tailwind, Mirror Coat, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Extreme Speed, Agility, Double TeamDescription: A Legendary Pokémon said to purify water wherever it runs.
Yozora nodded in approval.
As expected of a Legendary—its stats and move pool were exceptional.
Still, during the battle, it hadn't even used Brine, Tailwind, or Calm Mind. If it had, things might've been different.
But it could never have defeated Buzzwole. The gap was just too great.
"Pressure works differently in reality than in the games," Yozora mused.
In-game, it only drained extra PP. Here, it acted more like Intimidate—but instead of lowering Attack, it doubled stamina drain.
Useful, but not as versatile as Arcanine's Intimidate.
Regardless, Yozora then bestowed additional abilities onto Suicune: Stamina, Speed Boost, and Technician.
This version of Technician amplified all moves—strong moves only slightly, weak moves by a lot.
With four abilities, Suicune's potential surged to Tier-2 Legendary.
Suicune's eyes flashed open, staring at Yozora in awe.
"Human… your power is special. No wonder your Pokémon are so strong."
The words weren't spoken aloud. Rather, Yozora heard Suicune's heart through his Aura.
It wasn't telepathy. This Suicune couldn't use that. It was Yozora's Aura at work, allowing him to hear its inner voice.
"So… am I worthy to be your trainer?" Yozora smiled.
"Of course! You've not only strengthened me—you've shattered the limits of my bloodline! With your help… I may even surpass my ancestors!!"
Suicune's eyes gleamed with wild hope. Its bond with Yozora skyrocketed.
By now, the sun was setting. Autumn nights were cold, so Yozora set up camp in the cave.
He released all his Pokémon to greet Suicune, then began preparing dinner.
Suicune initially held its pride high, but froze when it saw Yozora's Beedrill—an aura far colder and deadlier than even Buzzwole's.
Pressure crashed down on it. Suicune's hackles rose, and deep inside, it felt a greater respect for Yozora.
This young master commands so many powerful warriors… That bee, and that blasted mosquito, both outclass me. If only I were Entei instead of Suicune—I'd roast them both alive…
Yozora, catching the thought through Aura, chuckled. Clearly, Suicune was still youthful at heart.
But it wasn't wrong. Both Buzzwole and Beedrill were Bug-types. Against fire, they'd be in trouble.
Night fell.
After a hearty meal, Yozora lit a fire. Surrounded by his companions, he drifted to sleep beneath the watchful glow of the flames.
