Atkinson Warren smiled warmly at Cecilia. "Since we're endeavoring to know each other better, Miss Penelope, I should like to show you around the manor a bit. Since you have only been here just once."
Cecilia nodded graciously. "That would be delightful, Mr. Warren."
He led her deeper into the mansion, and their first stop was his private study a large, imposing room lined with dark wood and overflowing bookshelves. Cecilia immediately started complimenting him. "Your study is magnificent, Mr. Warren. It suggests a man of vast knowledge and quiet contemplation."
He returned the compliment with a smooth smile. "I have told you, you can stop addressing me as 'Mr Warren now." She then nodded and he continued replying to her question. It merely reflects my various interests, Miss Penelope. Just as your attire suggests elegance and purpose."
