Chapter 216 - Chapter 216

I roared, my voice still raw from the transformation. "It's regenerating! The Destroyer fragments are making it near-invincible. We need to hit it harder than it can heal."

Odin didn't waste words. He lifted Gungnir, and a golden light erupted from its tip, a stream of pure energy that slammed into Terranaughtmon.

CRACKLE

The beast roared, a sound of digital pain. The golden energy was different, more potent than anything we had thrown at it. It wasn't just physical damage; it was tearing at its data.

Thor, invigorated by his father's presence, charged with Mjolnir, a battle cry on his lips. He wasn't just hitting it; he was aiming for the glowing conduits on its armor, the weak points I had pointed out. He was finally listening.

"For Asgard!" Thor bellowed.

He brought Mjolnir down with a mighty swing, a thunderous impact against a glowing orange conduit on Terranaughtmon's shoulder.

CRUNCH

Sparks flew, and the beast stumbled back, its armored plating groaning under the focused assault. This was working. This was what we needed.

Terranaughtmon, enraged by Odin's relentless assault, let out a guttural roar that shook the very ground. Its head tilted, the Destroyer-like visor sliding open, revealing the energy core within.

WHIRRRR

The Obliteration Beam charged, a searing orange-white light building, aimed directly at Odin.

Odin didn't flinch. He planted Gungnir, its golden energy flaring, creating a massive shield that met the destructive beam head-on.

BOOM

The clash of energies created a shockwave that rippled across the desert, kicking up sand and debris. The force of it pushed me back a step, even in my BurningGreymon form. Terranaughtmon used the temporary blindness to its advantage, its massive Plasma Quake Tail whipping around.

SWISH

The tail struck Thor, sending him stumbling, Mjolnir nearly flying from his grasp. He recovered quickly, but the hit had clearly rattled him.

"Corona Blaster!" I roared, not missing a beat. I aimed my Rudriya Darpaṇa arms at the newly exposed energy conduits on Terranaughtmon's back. A superheated laser beam shot out, striking the glowing lines.

ZAP

The beast shrieked again, a digital sound of agony. More sparks flew, and a section of its back armor glowed an angry red. It was still regenerating, but we were finally doing real damage.

Angewomon and LadyDevimon moved like shadows, following my lead. Angewomon, a vision of grace and light, launched a volley of Celestial Arrows.

"Celestial Arrow!"

THWIP THWIP THWIP

The holy projectiles streaked toward Terranaughtmon's knees, striking the armored joints with precise, focused energy. The beast stumbled, its massive legs buckling slightly under the concentrated assault. It tried to regain its balance, but LadyDevimon was already there.

"Darkness Wave!"

A cloud of shadowy, bat-like creatures erupted from LadyDevimon's hand, swarming Terranaughtmon's head, obscuring its vision. While it struggled with the distraction, LadyDevimon targeted the energy conduits along its arms with a series of dark energy blasts.

ZAP ZAP ZAP

The creature roared in frustration, swatting at the bats, momentarily blinded. This was working. Every hit, every distraction, was a piece of the puzzle.

Greymon and Garurumon weren't slacking either. Greymon charged forward, a wave of fire spewing from his mouth.

"Nova Blast!"

WHOOSH

The flames washed over Terranaughtmon's legs, heating the metal. Almost immediately, Garurumon followed up, breathing a stream of freezing blue fire.

"Fox Fire!"

HISSSSSS

The rapid temperature change made the armored plates groan, small cracks appearing in the metal. The idea was to make it brittle, to weaken it before a big hit. It was a good plan.

Above us, MailBirdramon soared, a mechanical hawk against the desert sky. It unleashed a barrage of plasma shells, not aiming for specific points, but trying to draw Terranaughtmon's attention, to keep it from focusing its attacks on any one of us.

RAT-A-TAT-TAT

The shells pinged off its armor, loud and irritating. Ballistamon, meanwhile, stood firm, a living shield around the small cluster of terrified civilians and SHIELD agents. Its armored body was a solid wall, ready to take a hit if needed. We were a team, working in sync, and it felt… right.

Odin, even while parrying another of Terranaughtmon's clumsy, enraged swings with Gungnir, watched the beast with sharp eyes. His ancient wisdom was probably analyzing every single detail, figuring out its patterns. I tried to do the same, but my mind was more about brute force and instinct in this form.

"Thor!" Odin's voice cut through the chaos, clear and strong. "Its conduits! They are its power! Channel Mjolnir's lightning through them!"

Thor, already recovering from the tail strike, nodded, his eyes burning with renewed purpose. He got it. He finally truly understood. This wasn't just about hitting it hard; it was about hitting it smart.

He raised Mjolnir, a crackle of blue lightning forming around the hammer. He wasn't aiming for the chest, or the head, or anywhere else. He aimed for the exposed, now-glowing energy conduit on Terranaughtmon's shoulder—the one I had just hit with my Corona Blaster.

ZAP

A focused bolt of lightning, thin and precise, struck the conduit.

CRACKLE

Terranaughtmon roared, a higher, more digital shriek this time. The conduit sparked violently, the energy overload visibly spreading through the metallic plating. Its movements became sluggish, almost convulsive. It was staggering. This was our chance.

I roared, a primal sound of understanding and determination. Odin's plan, Thor's execution, it all clicked. This was the opening.

"Corona Blaster!"

I charged forward, my Rudriya Darpaṇa arms glowing with superheated energy. I slammed my arms into the same conduit Thor had just struck.

BLAST

The combined energy overloaded the conduit. Terranaughtmon emitted a high-pitched, digital shriek that hurt my ears even as BurningGreymon. Orange energy sparked violently across its entire body, like short-circuiting wires. Its movements became sluggish, almost convulsive, as its internal systems were disrupted. It was like watching a giant robot having a seizure.

This was it. We had it.

From a distance, perched atop a rock outcropping, Loki watched. His face was a mask of cold calculation as he observed Terranaughtmon's struggle. He made no move to intervene, no gesture to assist. He simply watched, his green eyes reflecting the chaos below. He probably already had five backup plans for whatever happened here. I noticed Gungnir was nowhere to be seen in his hands, confirming it was indeed Odin wielding it.

Odin, seizing the opportunity presented by Terranaughtmon's faltering, raised Gungnir high. A blinding golden energy enveloped the spear, crackling with ancient power. It was pure, raw Odinforce, something beyond even Thor's lightning.

WHOOOOOOSH

He unleashed a sustained blast of that golden energy directly into Terranaughtmon's chest, targeting its primary core. The beam was thick, solid, tearing through the already damaged armor.

SCREEEEEEE

Terranaughtmon roared in digital agony, its body thrashing, but it couldn't move. It was pinned, burning under Odin's wrath. Thor, witnessing his father's immense power, doubled down on his assault. He brought Mjolnir down on Terranaughtmon's head again and again, aiming to keep its attention and prevent it from defending against Odin's attack.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

The sound of Mjolnir hitting metal echoed like a thunderclap, each strike deepening the cracks on the beast's headplate. This was a total beatdown, a combined effort that even this armored monster couldn't withstand.

Terranaughtmon roared one last time, a guttural, digital scream that ripped through the air as Odin's Odinforce tore through its core. Thor's relentless Mjolnir strikes shattered its headplate, exposing the raw, corrupted data within. Its armored form shimmered erratically, the Destroyer fragments within it beginning to destabilize, glowing orange, then red, then black.

FWOOOOOSH!

With a final, ear-splitting digital shriek, Terranaughtmon exploded in a shower of data and twisted metal, leaving a massive, smoking crater in the desert floor. The heat was immense, even for BurningGreymon, and I had to shield my face.

Silence.

The desert went silent, save for the lingering hum of dissipated energy and the distant shouts of SHIELD agents. I stood there, watching the smoke clear, a sense of exhaustion and hard-won victory washing over me. We had done it.

As the smoke settled, the remaining data coalesced, not into nothing, but into a Digi-Egg. It slowly settled into the scorched earth, pulsating with a faint, corrupted glow. Beside it, the twisted remnants of the Destroyer armor didn't just disappear. They reformed, not as a pile of slag, but as a sleek, smaller, yet still imposing piece of Digi-Armor. It pulsed with latent power, an eerie, almost familiar light.

My Digivice buzzed in my hand, signaling a mission complete. But my eyes were on that new armor. What the hell was that? And what was I going to do with it? This was not what I expected. Not at all.
