"My combat power has reached 437,500," Seth announced, unable to suppress the grin spreading across his face.
The ??? designation paired with his Nexus Barrier ability held a significance that most wouldn't immediately grasp—it meant he possessed the power to ignore an opponent's combat rating to a certain degree, or in some cases, completely ignore it. Pretty much a hax ability.
In practical terms, an enemy could boast a combat power measuring in the trillions, but if they lacked the specific means to counter his unique ability, they would fall just as easily as any weakling. This fundamental advantage was precisely what elevated SSS tier talents into the realm of the truly overpowered, separating them from all others.
That said, certain SS tier talents should have theoretically possessed similar properties. Take the SS tier talent [All Fiction], for instance—Seth genuinely couldn't determine whether that particular ability would eventually grant its user the capacity to bypass combat power entirely or not.
Not wanting to waste another moment, Seth used his teleportation spell and materialized beside Chu Yin. He quickly recounted everything that had just transpired. He was confident she had become the second strongest person on Earth after himself, and even with that knowledge, he refused to squander his time playing the role of overlord for nothing. So, she would take over everything and lead while he was gone.
Naturally, Chu Yin was displeased with the entire situation—though not with the prospect of assuming the title of Overlord during Seth's absence. No, her displeasure centered entirely on the fact that he was leaving at all. After she had finally broken down those emotional walls between them, he was simply going to disappear because the universe had issued some arbitrary command.
"No elves." She said coldly, to which Seth ignored her and simply gave her a quick rundown of what she should look out for. This displeased her, for Seth belonged to her; she had marked every inch of his body, he was her treasure… and since when did anyone dare to steal a treasure belonging to a dragon?
That dick between his legs? She had made her mark well with her mouth, hands, insides, and so on. It was hers; it no longer belonged to Seth. He had lost all rights over it… hell, he had lost all rights over his own body. In return, Seth had all the rights over her own body. She was his treasure, the same way he was hers.
Her teeth slowly turned sharp, like a dragon. She glared at Seth, who was forced to nod, not caring at all about what was going on through her mind… well, if he did, he would quickly find out cheating equal death.
But when the five-minute countdown expired, Seth found himself forcefully teleported to the location directly before the dungeon gate leading to the elven world. The universe offered no additional explanation or warning.
Seth approached the door with steady steps, gripped the handle, and pulled it open. The moment he began to cross the threshold, he froze mid-stride as his eyes registered the incoming threat—a vast sea of arrows, hundreds upon hundreds of them, rocketing through the air directly toward his position.
Every single projectile halted mid-flight before making contact, suspended in the air as if time itself had stuttered to a stop.
Seth resumed walking forward with calm deliberation, his movement causing the frozen arrows to shift and flow around his body like water parting around a stone. They moved in synchronized patterns, repelled by an invisible force, never once grazing him. Behind him, he pulled the door shut, sealing the portal.
"A welcoming party?" Seth called out, his voice carrying a note of amusement as he turned to observe the sea of arrows still hovering in formation behind him. "You really shouldn't have gone to all this trouble."
Arrows specifically designed to obliterate tier 8 monsters in a single strike couldn't even make contact with his skin.
"Hold! Cease fire! None of your arrows can touch him!" A commanding voice rang out across the battlefield, cutting through the tense silence.
The elven warriors who had witnessed the impossible sight—their devastating arrow barrage stopping dead in mid-air before it could reach its target—stood frozen in shocked disbelief. Their weapons had been rendered completely ineffective.
Seth casually stepped to the side, allowing the suspended arrows to surge forward once more. They whistled past his previous position and slammed into the ground behind him with thunderous impacts, embedding themselves deep into the earth. His attention shifted to locate the source of the commanding voice.
There, positioned atop a sturdy donkey and encased in a complete suit of gleaming armor, sat Evlin. Her presence radiated authority and power.
"You have gotten stronger..." Evlin observed, her voice emerging as a cold grunt while her eyes studied Seth with analytical precision.
She stated it as fact, but the truth was that she herself had grown considerably stronger as well. Far stronger, in fact—strong enough that the sheer magnitude of her increased power genuinely shocked Seth when he properly assessed her current capabilities.

"Nice work—a combat power of 1,140,000," Seth said, his smile genuine as he assessed her capabilities. The words stunned Evelin completely. Not only could Seth perceive her stats with apparent ease, but she had no way of knowing the full extent of what information he could access. Still, the numbers didn't lie—she was currently the strongest individual in this entire territory, a fact that should have given her the advantage.
What she was counting on was the debuff Seth suffered simply by existing in this world. His combat power should be reduced by half due to the dimensional restrictions. Adding to that disadvantage, he was currently standing within her territory, which imposed an additional fifty percent penalty on intruders.
The mathematics were brutally simple: Seth's combat power had been reduced to a mere 109,375. By all conventional measurements, he was extremely weak in his current state.
And yet Seth didn't appear concerned in the slightest. His gaze drifted upward toward the night sky, where a luminous full moon hung suspended against the darkness. He found himself wondering idly whether that celestial body remained permanently fixed in that position, or if it followed a normal cycle like the moon from his own world.
"Don't ignore me!" A voice slammed directly into Seth's mind, sharp and commanding.
Seth turned his head just in time to register the blade slicing through the air toward his exposed neck. The sword's trajectory was perfect, the speed impressive, the killing intent palpable. The weapon should have severed his head cleanly from his shoulders—only for the blade to halt at the very last possible instant, frozen in place mere millimeters from his skin. No matter how much physical effort Evelin poured into driving the sword forward, attempting to push it through his neck, it refused to advance even a fraction of an inch further.
Her silver eyes widened in shock as she stared at the impossible sight before her, her mind struggling to accept whether what she was witnessing could actually be real.
"You're dividing the space between my blade and your body," she breathed softly, her voice barely above a whisper as understanding dawned. "And since a number can never truly reach zero, you can continue dividing that space an infinite number of times, creating an endless series of smaller distances. It ensures that nothing can ever actually touch you."
Her analysis barely scratched the surface of the Nexus Barrier's capabilities, covering only its most fundamental application. But she had grasped the core principle correctly.
