"Alright I have to go he waved, the car soon sped off.
Opening one of the suitcase i toke out a
black long jacket and face cap bought
overseas, the last suitcase contains her
identity card, passport and other document with few clothes and shoes.
Dragging her luggage to the hotel, push the
door open, creak the door made a sound,
the white washed tiles, dim light, the
interior so plain with only a counter by the
center and the side stairs leading up, a bit
spacious. This is the worst place she had ever been to in her life.
"Hello, knocking on the counter to wake the sleeping receptionist.
A groggy face with heavy makeup raise up a
drool by the mouth looking a bit disgusting,
yellowing unkempt hair, eyes bags, dry and
tonned skin, she seems to be in her twenties.
Wiping her face to stay awake, she spoke in
broken English.
"You look new here do you need a room?"
"Umm yea I need a room upstairs".
"Here meals are included, the rooms do not
have air conditioners or heater, but there is running water".
"Alright I can manage, I need hot water two times a day the fee can be added together.
"Alright
Although it's not yet winter the weather is
cold in the morning and evenings.
"Ah yo sisi it seems we have a new chick here".
"Old Jo you didn't play card game today, a middle walked in.
"No no heard an interesting news that some new came".
Haha looking at the girl standing by the
counter fair skin although with heavy
smudge makeup, the way she talked, stood
and walked showed she wasn't one of them.
"Here is the key and the room number, meal
time is by 6am in the morning and 7pm
evening we only provide meal twice daily".
"Ok, is there a super market around here".
"Hello sisi some guys passed by winking at her.
A new chick whistling, got the shape girl he
also winked at Amelia as they walked out.
"Yes, just walk down this street to the end
by your left there is a small supermarket there".
"Newbie the counter girl called sisi called

"Thank you, dragging the suitcases up the
stairs to room 14, looking from the window
at he street all manner of people coming
and going, one of the door open a lady with
short revealing clothes and some guys
came out. Looking away Amelia open the
door then locked it back the lights in the
room was on, the wall paint pealing out, a
small rechargeable fan plugged by the bed,
the door by the left led to the bathroom by
the side a mop, brush and parker and by
the right the toilet, simple bunk bed white
clean bed cover, chair and table, mini fridge,
walldobe, a cupboard which contain bed
spread and pillow case, a small window by
the side side covered with green curtain,
raising the curtain up she open the window
to allow fresh air, there was no
soundproofing in the rooms hence the hear
the blaring pop music from next door,
taking her headset from her bag. Putting
them on the world finally became silent.
Quickly cleaning up the room and arranging
been in the Smith family she never need to
do anything now starting it, it was quite
difficult and being slow it took a lot of time
by the time she was done the sky was
becoming dark, walking back to the
bedroom to unplug her phone checking her
phone it was 6pm in the evening an hour more before dinner.
Everywhere look neat and organized,
looking at the number of the receptionist
written on a piece of paper, she typed in the numbers.
"Hello this is room 15, could you bring the
hot water along with the meal by 7".
"Alright came the reply from the receiver.
Wearing a mask to cover her smudge face
walk out of the room in the same outfit to
bring the sun dryed bed spread and pillow
case, taking them inside to the make the bed.
Closing the door behind I walked down
the stairs to the counter, the girl called sisi
was still there but she is no longer sleeping
but playing games from the sound coming from it.
"Hello lifting her eyes up impatiently pausing pm game.
"Just call me sisi"
"Un sisi sorry to disturb you do you know if there is a bus station here.
"Yes the street, you will pass another street
keep going straight and there the bus
station, the first bus comes by 6:40, most of
the people here have small business they do
in town, some are temporary factory
workers, others are lazy bum or street
ruffians, she chatter on, getting some
information about the place, Amelia took
her leave walking down the road quickly to
the supermarket directed by sisi, on getting
there it wasn't that big, a mini supermarket.
Rows of product and other items going to
the maternity side she bought some pads
as she didn't any along, toiletries, snacks,
instant noodles, carton of milk, biscuits,
bread, wallpaper, rug, soap, sponge, canned
foods, tooth brush, toothpaste, thrift
clothes, bags and shoes,can drink, bottle
water, cosmetics, bottle of peper spray,
folding knife, makeup wipes, face mask. By
the side of the supermarket a store selling
hair accessories she bought some clips and
hair band, the sales man asked a worker to
help her carry the load to the hotel, she
walked slowly with the teenager taking two
other big bags with she holding three more,
after walking for some time they reach the hotel.
