"Boss, big news!" April, who had been sitting by the door playing on her phone, suddenly jumped up and dashed in front of Li Qingyuan.
"Aren't you too idle? Go clean the shelves again if you have nothing to do!" Li Qingyuan waved impatiently, still watching his silly TV show. "What big news? How's it got anything to do with me?"
"Boss, it's insider news! Tony Stark isn't dead!" April, completely ignoring his attitude, shoved her phone in front of him and pointed at the message.
Though she had been fired by the TV station, her network of contacts still existed. Someone had secretly informed her that Tony Stark—considered dead by the national media—was actually found by the US military in Afghanistan and was now on a plane back to New York.
Why reveal this insider info to her?
With April's looks and figure, a few admirers sending her messages was nothing unusual.
"Uh…" Compared to April's excitement, Li Qingyuan didn't react at all and continued watching his silly TV show.
Not gonna lie, even though the show was ridiculous, it was actually quite entertaining. As long as he didn't waste time reading all the "review chapters" online, it was fine.
"Boss, Tony Stark! CEO of Stark Industries, the richest guy in America—no, the world!" April was still hyped, likely imagining rushing to the airport for a live interview.
"Why should I care? How does it concern me?" Seeing his maid still dreaming of being a famous host, Li Qingyuan decided it was time to crush her fantasy.
Sure, a maid who doesn't want to be a star isn't a good cook, but at least recognize your actual job, right?
"Hmph…"
Hit with these words, April felt like her mood had been thrown down the drain, frustrated and unable to swallow her emotions.
"I'm going grocery shopping." Feeling defeated, April shot a resentful glare at her unfeeling boss. Seeing that he remained unmoved, she let her frustration turn into retail therapy.
She'd go to Whole Foods and pick the priciest items, let the bill sting him good.
Watching April sway out the door, Li Qingyuan finally paused the computer and recalled the plot of Iron Man 1.
Tony Stark's ordeal in Afghanistan had been entirely orchestrated by Obadiah, who wanted to use the terrorists to kill Tony and seize Stark Industries.
But as any maid dreams of becoming the lady of the house, the terrorists realized killing such a weapons genius outright would waste him.
Instead, they forced Tony to build missiles for them to establish their own armed force.
And then…
A bunch of idiots just watched as Tony hammered together an entire Iron Man suit right under their noses, leaving people speechless.
Missiles and an Iron Man suit—are they the same? Even if blind, there's a limit!
In time, Tony Stark would likely discover Obadiah's scheme and engage him in battle.
After thinking through the plot, Li Qingyuan realized there was no need for him to intervene.
After all, Tony Stark was the chosen one of the Marvel universe; who knew what world he might be sent to after contact.
Better to stay safe and continue watching the show.
And honestly, the silly TV show was pretty fun!

"Colson, here's the latest report submitted by the NYPD. Check it out!"
A guy with a receding hairline, just finished with his previous mission, barely had a chance to catch his breath when a new report landed on his face.
Phil Coulson, Marvel's newbie village chief, was staring at his top boss with a look of utter despair—this shiny-skinned bald guy!
"Please, act human!"
He had just returned from two months of sand in Afghanistan, hadn't even had a chance to play a friendly match with his girlfriend, and now he was immediately handed another mission report.
Coulson suspected his boss was jealous of his hair and wanted him to lose it too.
"Sir, isn't a subway kidnapping case something the NYPD should handle?" Coulson asked, quickly skimming the report.
S.H.I.E.L.D. dealt with all kinds of mysterious incidents—aliens, time travelers, superhumans. A bunch of gangsters shouldn't require S.H.I.E.L.D.'s intervention.
"Look at this!" Nick Fury threw a forensic report at Coulson's face.
Coulson groaned as he took it. Couldn't they just throw both reports at him at once?
Of course, he only thought this silently. Everyone in S.H.I.E.L.D. knew Fury was petty. Offend him, and you'd be in trouble.
"Thirty-five explosive traces on the body, and some strange mutation?" Coulson grimaced reading the autopsy.
Thirty-five mini-bombs, possibly with a biological virus—this kidnapper likely died peacefully.
"The subway cameras were hacked, but witness statements confirm the kidnappers were neutralized in under fifteen minutes." Fury said, staring at Coulson with his one eye.
"You mean… find that hidden dark hero?" Coulson asked.
"That guy hiding in the shadows isn't our concern. At most, he's just a combat-skilled NYC citizen. Whether we find him or not doesn't matter." Fury tapped the forensic report with two knuckles.
"The real issue is a guy skilled in explosives and biological viruses hiding in New York."
"Understood, Sir!" Coulson stood up and responded seriously.
Indeed, the director's perspective was far better than his own.
Mini-bombs aren't too bad, viruses aren't too bad.
But combined? Big trouble!
If this person tossed a few bioweapons around New York, it would cause chaos.
