Growl~
"I'm hungry." Rubbing her stomach, Akuta said so to no one in particular. She looked around and took notice of the people that were walking by, trying to make a living.
She was looking for a place she could settle down for a bit since she couldn't possibly let herself stay inside this rundown of a place, you know?
It doesn't fit her status as a student!
Perhaps if she had put in her affiliation earlier, she would've been able to go to said school and apply for the dorm, but in the end, she didn't.
No regrets though as that would probably affect her points cash out...
Not being affiliated means she's currently freelancing without anybody to give her allowance.
She could accept mercenary works but then that'd be a black part of her background...
She needed to make sure that her background is clean of any darkness! Otherwise, she might be suspected of colluding with some kind of evil forces in the future!
She knew of this kind of plot, where the protagonist would somehow be dragged in to deal with the messes the world had to go through and somehow became the person who needed to save it!
While in reality, they didn't need to do anything! If the world were at risk of destruction... Well, even the original Kivotos were at the brink of evaporating into thin air with the appearance of Phrenapates and Shiroko Terror...
And guess what happened in the end?
They survived!
The world was saved at the cost of Sensei's clothes!
Having to run around the D.U with nothing covering their body... you have my respect, Sensei.
All in all, everything would turn out fine as long as she didn't affect the story too much with her appearance.
Just keep it low and steady, be stealthy to prevent any extra changes being made in the story.
Akuta remembered reading a book titled 'What NOT to do if you were reincarnated into a game you played' back when she was still in her old world.
And well... time to put it into practice.
1. Prevent any deviation in the story (Your appearance itself could impact the world more than you think)
2. Don't allow the Characters to know of your existence (A single glance towards you could change a character's train of thought)
3. Be silent as the wind, swift as the falling leaves (A hundred story would stay the same if nothing changed)
Etc. Etc...
Most of them were saying not to make her appearance in the world.
But well... she doesn't want to do that!
It's already rare that she'd get a second chance at living; moreover, she got reincarnated into the world of a game she played?
Everyone here is beautiful as hell.
Take the Arius Squad, for example.
They were still children inside her simulation, but Akuta could tell that they had the qualities of a model the very first moment she saw them.
Just give it a couple of years, and they would all be known as the group of students that made the uproar in the magazine world!
That is, if Beatrice didn't suppress their existence for so long...
Pushing that aside, Akuta needed to find some place to take shelter. Perhaps an apartment or even a small home is fine.
As for money?
[Exchange Rate for Points and Credits are as follow:
1 Point = 10 Credits]
And she quite liked the sight of a perfect number so...
Exchange 66,600 Points into Credits!
Remaining Points: 500,000
Remaining Credits: 666,000
Spooky number 666~
Smiling to herself at the sight, she figured that she could probably rent a room or two if she wanted to.
But then she'd need to buy a phone first.
"Simple enough. Plot convenience System! Do you happen to have any Credit Based shop on your person?!"
[Affirmative]
A panel appeared in which the words written weren't in Point currency, instead it was Credits based.
"Heh, I knew you wouldn't let me down. What would I have done without you, my dear system?" With excited breaths, she scrolled through the panel until she found the phone section.
Looking through the prices, she wasn't concerned.
The most expensive one seems to only cost around 100k Credits.
Much less that she would've expected.
But that's a win for her~
"Buy the most expensive one." Pressing the panel twice, a notification popped up asking for her confirmation. Once again, her finger fell on it consecutively as the transaction moved smoothly.
But then she was reminded of the things she saw just now while scrolling through the Credit Shop.
It was indeed a portable house being listed at the cost of 15 Million Credits.
"Truly my bro." Perhaps if the system had a physical body, Akuta would've kissed it without hesitation.
Alas, she's still quite poor so...
"I'm also going to need new clothes." She looked down at her body, covered in a brown rag with dust as her makeup. "Hm... I want to taste some real homemade food... as for clothing, I can just buy them from the system."
With that thought, she turned around and entered the house again.
After a while, she came back out, looking like an entirely different person.
Her messy hair was fixed, only a couple of strands going out of hand as the rest were quite straight. Using a white undershirt, she wore a baggy jacket as outerwear and short jeans covering just enough.
Of course, her legs were exposed.
What about her dignity as a (previous) male, you say?
Threw it out the window for fashion, of course!
What? You think she's just gonna waste this new look just because she couldn't accept it? That would be such a waste!
With good looks comes great responsibility. If you don't try to present yourself at your best, what are you even doing with such a face?
Better to just go through a plastic surgery to make yourself uglier!
With this new look, she could be mistaken for a student who skipped out of school to hang out outside~
"Hehe, time for food~ What should I have today~?" Humming to herself, Akuta began to skip the road as she tried to find the closest restaurant that's open.
Since this is the D.U, that trouble maker Gourmet Group probably wouldn't make an appearance, right?
Since their territory is the Gehenna District... she's probably safe from guaranteed encounters with them, right?
Hopefully so.
Akuta's feet stopped moving as she arrived at a street stall which had a scent that caught her attention.
"...Burger?" Looking at the menu, she noticed the Robot Chef that was behind the stall, waiting for her order. "Can I have a double cheeseburger, please? Ah, do you take online payment?"
Without saying a word, the robot chef pointed to a QR code at the front which had a small letter writing 'Pay Here' right under it.
"Ah." Nodding to the robot chef in the back, she smiled and waited for her order to finish. Not before adding another order, "Add fries in the bags too, please."
The robot chef nodded, and not long after, her orders arrived.
Paying it using her phone, she watched as the money barely moved.
"Thanks~ I'll come again~" Jumping in excitement, she brought her bag of cheeseburgers and lifted a fry from it, bringing it into her mouth.
She smiled at the salty and savory taste, reminding herself at the fact that the Arius District had only ever eaten dry bread.
'Next time I see them, maybe I should treat them to a meal. Might just cry out of joy then.' She thought to herself with a smile as she finished the rest of her meal.
