Chapter 164 - Chapter 165: I’m Tomaleila, where are you?

"Oh, oh, so that's how it is." After hearing Alex's general method for obtaining the Gnosis, Clorinde finally understood.

Although what he said seemed simple, being able to get a Gnosis from a god was already very impressive.

Clorinde, pushing up her impressive chest, said, "Then, this Harbingers, for your Gnosis, she kidnapped you, and then you two fought, right?"

"Ah, yes, yes, yes!" Alex nodded.

Clorinde then said, "You wanted 100,000 Primogems to trade with her, but you lacked the guarantee of force, didn't you?"

"Yes, exactly." Alex nodded vigorously again.

Clorinde looked at Alex for a long time before finally saying, "Hmm, alright. I can help you… "

"Yay!" Alex cheered directly.

"But…" Clorinde paused, a purple light flashing on her chest.

Then Clorinde placed her hand on it, and finally seemed to pull out a card holder from a pocket on her chest.

"As for how much effort I'll put in to help you, you'll have to pass a check first." Clorinde finished speaking, began shuffling the cards in her hand, and then laid them face down in a row on the table.

"Huh?" Alex questioned.

Clorinde then briefly explained the rules to Alex.

There were numbers one to twenty. They represented Critical Failure, Failure, Success, and Critical Success, respectively.

"It's simple, isn't it?" Clorinde said, gesturing for Alex to draw a card.

Hearing the explanation, Alex instantly understood what Clorinde was doing: "Tabletop role-playing, right! You can play tabletop role-playing here too!"

With that, Alex casually drew a card from the middle.

He flipped the card over, and it was thirteen.

"Check successful. Not bad." Clorinde said, then collected the cards on the table.

Clorinde then stood up and motioned for Alex to follow her: "You come with me."

Alex didn't understand what Clorinde meant, so he obediently followed behind her.

They hadn't walked far following Clorinde's steps.

The two arrived in front of a solemn gate.

Clorinde directly pushed the door open and entered. Alex followed her in.

Entering the room, bright sunlight streamed in, illuminating the entire space.

The room was very neat, with only rows of weapon racks.

All the weapon racks held various Swords shimmering with cold light.

"Wow, Clorinde, you have a penchant for collecting Swords. I don't see that many types here." Alex looked around; there were one-star dull blade, two-star Silver Swords, and a pile of three-star and even four-star Swords.

As for five-star weapons, Alex only saw one Sword placed on a separate weapon rack at the front.

Alex recognized it; he had seen it in a video not long ago.

That must be Clorinde's signature weapon.

Five-star Sword: Absolution

Base ATK: 674, CRIT DMG: 44.1%

Refinement Rank 1

Covenant of Dusk: CRIT DMG is increased by 20%. When the value of a Life Bond increases, the DMG dealt by the wielder is increased by 16%. This effect lasts for 6 seconds, and can stack up to 3 times.

Oh my, this is so powerful, it's all CRIT DMG… But Life Bond is Clorinde's exclusive, isn't it? Have weapon designs become so specialized now!

I still prefer my Mistsplitter Reforged!

I want to pull another one here.

Clorinde blocked Alex's view: "Don't move. You only passed the check successfully; I only use this for a Critical Success."

Besides, the power of this Sword is very strong; a mere Harbingers cannot make me use my prized possession.

"Just an iron sting is enough." With that, Clorinde picked up the Refinement Rank 1 Level 90 iron sting hanging on the wall.

"You still love using your iron sting. It's a four-star signature weapon, right?" Alex shrugged.

Clorinde didn't speak, but instead took out a white handkerchief and began to wipe the iron sting.

Alex watched as the iron sting shimmered with cold light under the sunlight; it looked very sharp and well-maintained.

Oh right, since Clorinde had a penchant for collecting Swords.

Alex looked at his backpack; besides his favorite three-star divine weapon, harbinger of dawn, he also had a four-star Sword, the sword of descension.

Although the stats of this Sword weren't great, using it here would be like using a blank weapon. After all, its skill only took effect when logging into PS games.

But its appearance was quite nice to look at.

Anyway, he would never take it out to use.

He might as well give it to Clorinde, since she even collected dull blade.

"I can't let you help for free. I happen to have a nice-looking Sword here. It's called the sword of descension, and I'll give it to you." Alex said, pulling out his sword of descension.

Clorinde became interested and put the iron sting into her Vision.

She took his sword of descension with one hand.

Clorinde turned it over, up, and down, and touched the blade with her hand.

A moment later, Clorinde gave her assessment: "Hmm, a uniquely shaped Sword. It doesn't seem to belong to the Swords of Teyvat."

"Amazing!" Alex's eyes widened. Clorinde was too amazing; the description of this Sword was indeed like that! She could tell at a glance.

"For me?" Clorinde genuinely started to like this Sword.

"Yes, please accept it well. This is my sincerity." Alex placed his right hand over his heart, showing his sincerity.

Clorinde hung the sword of descension in the same spot where the iron sting had been, then said to Alex, "Thank you."

Starsnatch Cliff Teleport Waypoint.

When Alex arrived here, he found that La Signora Rosalyne and the Fatui were not there.

Looking at Clorinde behind him, Alex's courage instantly surged.

The next moment, Alex pulled out his loudspeaker from the past.

After targeting La Signora Rosalyne, he directly shouted, "I'm Thoma Layla! Where are you?"

Then Alex began his mental attack.

There was a song Alex particularly wanted to sing. Although he had forgotten many of the lyrics, he still remembered the general few lines.

"Plant a seed in your heart ~ da la di da la. It can fulfill small wishes, with magical powers ~"

"Uh." Clorinde, who was beside him, was a little confused when Alex suddenly started singing, but after listening to these few lines, she felt it wasn't bad.

"Stop singing! I'm here!" La Signora Rosalyne walked over from behind a distant mountain, leading a group of Fatui, looking speechless.

After Alex started singing, he got a bit carried away, shaking his head and singing another line.

"I heard every child needs to get it ~ ~ ~ Get ready, oh yo ~ Let's explore together."

He had to admit, as he thought of this song Klee once sang, as he sang this children's song, the next line of lyrics naturally came to mind. But that was as far as it went.

Finally, watching Rosalyne walk in front of him, Alex became directly smug, putting his hands on his hips.

"Courage burst ~ ~ ~!"

"Clap, clap, clap." Clorinde, who was beside him, clapped enthusiastically.

And the two Electro Cicin Mages behind Rosalyne also unconsciously clapped twice, but Rosalyne glared them back into silence.
