Snowball's ears twitched irritably. What exactly is the Creator thinking?
He had assumed that he was the Creator's sole overseer, entrusted with managing the world and maintaining its balance. He had believed that the power of this world would remain under his control. But now, the Creator had left him to deal with rebellious fragments, a possible second chosen woman, and a contaminated source of power.
Snowball stared at the sky. Is the Creator angry with me?
Is this punishment for sleeping for centuries because I found everything boring?
He paused.
If so, this is a little excessive, don't you think?
Snowball buried his face in his paws.
Can I please be a normal cat for a while?
He wanted to spend a few peaceful days sleeping, eating, and doing absolutely nothing.
No prophecies.
No chosen women.
No troublesome fragments.
And definitely no foxes.
Unfortunately, the world seemed determined to deny him even that small wish.
