Chapter 704 - 704 Conan, or the One Who Might Melt in Your Mouth

The pages of Raziel churned with lines of holy text.

[6th, when Shinichi Kudo was officially administered the poison and transformed into Conan Edogawa, his intrinsic traits were activated. Unexpectedly, this attracted a certain conceptual substance that took residence within him.]

[7th, this substance began to activate.]

[8th, Conan Edogawa and Professor Agasa accidentally encountered a murder case. The case was solved under Professor Agasa's name, but in reality, it was Conan who directed the investigation. Due to this incident, the substance was further activated.]

[9th to 16th, Conan Edogawa encountered six cases, all resolved with Professor Agasa's assistance. During this period, four people died and two were severely injured in Beika Town. The substance within Conan Edogawa took further shape.]

At this point, Nia Honjo shifted her gaze to the lines below, where she spotted handwriting distinctly different from the mechanical text—delicate and graceful.

It was her own handwriting:

[17th, 8:22 PM, Professor Agasa received a last-minute invitation to a scientists' gathering and decided to entrust Conan Edogawa to Ran Mouri's care that evening.]

[17th, 9:21 PM, Ran Mouri learned of Professor Agasa's request over the phone and sought Kogoro Mouri's opinion.]

[During this, Kogoro Mouri, heavily intoxicated, absentmindedly agreed to Ran's inquiry, prompting her to accept Professor Agasa's request.]

[18th, 8:00 AM, Ran Mouri smoothly headed to Professor Agasa's home and picked up Shinichi Kudo under the alias Conan Edogawa.]

[18th, 9:00 AM, Kogoro Mouri, who initially intended to kick Conan out of the car, had a sudden change of heart and agreed to bring Conan and Ran along for an infidelity investigation case.]

Gazing at these events she had woven, Nia Honjo wore a faint smile.

Future Entry!

This is one of Raziel's special abilities.

The future written upon its pages will manifest in reality over time.

It was the strongest ability of Raziel, yet also the most difficult to control.

However, Nia Honjo would never use this power to exceed her limits.

And arranging matters with Professor Agasa clearly fell well within her capabilities.

After these lines, the following text appeared in a vivid crimson hue, exuding an aura of bloodshed and danger.

[April 18th, Conan Edogawa encounters the unknown, and under its influence, the substance within him undergoes further sublimation.]

Reading this, Nia Honjo lowered her gaze and recited the next line:

"April 18th, 3:55 PM, the Calamity Jade Seal fully forms within Conan Edogawa's body!"

"Luo Shu should be delighted~"

"After all, I've gifted him the crucial present~"

"Calculating the timing, he should be receiving the reminder text I scheduled to send him on his way back to the Hidden Management Department by now?"

"Come to think of it, I originally planned to use this message to arrange another meeting if Luo Shu didn't come to my place and refused my invitation... Who knew things would go so smoothly..."

As she spoke, Nia Honjo rolled over, hugging Raziel to her chest. Closing her eyes briefly before reopening them, her gaze now filled with profound regret:

"When omniscience flows into the unknown, the Spirit of Origin who governs all awakens as planned, wielding the power of omniscience to mobilise the Kingdom's power deliberately preserved within, engaging the unknown in a desperate battle!"

"Details of the battle remain unknown, the final state of both parties unknown, yet the ultimate outcome is the planet's destruction, all life vanishing with its demise."

"Forgive me, Mother!"

"The price of your desperate struggle is too great; I cannot accept such an ending."

"So please, continue slumbering peacefully."

"One day, I shall persuade Luo Shu to release you safely."

"That day will surely come..."

Holding onto an indescribable guilt, Nia Honjo hugged Raziel tightly and slowly closed her eyes.

Nia Honjo drifted into sleep, as though it could carry away all her troubles.

...

Private Kamijo Hospital, Underground Research Facility.

Luo Shu finally reunited with that spiky-haired, infant-sized scientist, Verde, after a long absence.

"Long time no see, Verde."

"To me, your reputation has been ringing in my ears lately."

Verde adjusted his glasses, his lifeless eyes sweeping over Luo Shu and then briefly over Megumi Kato in her Toyogasaki High School uniform standing behind him.

Yet his gaze passed over Megumi as if acknowledging her presence while remaining unable to retain her in his memory.

"You're here about Subject 054 delivered urgently last night, aren't you?" Inside the lab, Verde sat on a specially designed high chair and picked up the coffee beside him.

"054... You mean Conan Edogawa?" Luo Shu sounded slightly surprised. "You've already assigned him a number?"

"Merely knowing the names of certain special lifeforms can be dangerous, so we typically assign them codes.

"Verde spoke while raising his hand and tapping the chair five times in quick succession, producing crisp, clear sounds.

The moment these crisp sounds rang out, the massive black screen before Verde immediately displayed a clear image.

The image showed footage from six surveillance cameras positioned around what appeared to be a laboratory.

At the centre of the camera feeds was a cold, white metal table resembling an operating theatre.

Lying motionless on the icy metal surface was Conan Edogawa, dressed in his dark blue children's suit, his sleeping face peaceful.

Seeing this, Luo Shu raised an eyebrow slightly and asked:

"The kid's parents will be arriving soon. If you have any unfinished business, you'd best wrap it up quickly."

"My research doesn't require such wasteful methods." Verde snorted coldly, his tone rather unpleasant. "With such a uniquely precious specimen, basic sampling followed by non-invasive instrumental examination is sufficient. He mustn't be wasted."

Hearing this, Luo Shu nodded, showing relative confidence in Verde's methods:

"If you're confident about convincing the parents, I naturally have no objections."

At this, Verde took a sip of coffee before asking:

"So what's the real reason you came ahead of Subject 054's parents?"

"Did you make a special trip just to warn me not to go too far with my research?"

Hearing Verde's words, Luo Shu looked up at Conan Edogawa on the screen, his expression somewhat complicated as he said:

"I just came to give you an advance warning."

"According to the latest information from my personal channels, the true nature of the calamitous power hidden within Conan Edogawa is the Calamity Jade Seal."

After this explanation, Luo Shu sighed softly:

"Which happens to be one of the two main materials required for my ascension to Demigod."

Verde froze momentarily, then set down his coffee, his brow furrowing slightly:

"So the power within Subject 054 is the Calamity Jade Seal?... This complicates matters somewhat."

"How so?" Luo Shu asked curiously.

Verde stroked his chin: "I'll need at least five months to concentrate Subject 054 into a bottle of nutrient solution while preserving its efficacy. Heh, that's quite the labour-intensive process."

Luo Shu: "..."

My mistake, I shouldn't have asked.

Though Verde, I knew you were inhuman... but I never imagined you could be this inhuman...

Turning Conan into an instant-dissolve nutrient solution?

Truly impressive!!
