Chapter 7 - (31),41

Alos loathed everything, ultimately choosing to regress his senses, acquiescing to and even aiding his savage side in eroding his humanity. If he could become a true snake, would he no longer feel pain?

Gradually, Alos sank deeper into the darkness of chaos.

  Amidst the dark pollution.

His body and senses felt as if they were stuffed with black cotton, tightly encased in the heavy shell of a giant snake. Everything happening outside was vaguely blocked out, and his body acted solely on animalistic instincts.

Hatred and loathing blinded his eyes and ears, and pain choked his throat. From some unknown point in time, the boy, sinking into despair, surrendered control of his body to instinct, drifting aimlessly into a daze in this chaos.

Only when players feel offended or threatened will they have the "honor" of seeing the giant snake transform into a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy snake monster, experiencing the true terror of the boss in this dungeon.

  And now—

His heavy body collapsed layer by layer, and the negative pollution that had been pressing on and enveloping him was gradually hollowed out like black cotton. He was caught off guard and smelled a breath of fresh air.

Alos instinctively swung his hand, his arm so light, no longer like a tree stump rooted to the ground; his mind grew clearer and clearer, for the first time without pain, hatred, or resentment, as if the whole world had finally stopped weighing down his shoulders and instead opened up to him.

The fifteen- or sixteen-year-old boy stood blankly in the darkness, stunned by the sudden mental freedom.

When he felt a touch on his tail, he instinctively looked down and saw a baby with naturally curly hair sitting on the ground, its little hand curiously touching his tail.

Their gazes met, and their mental connection vibrated.

  "Waaah~"

The boy's name sparked another firework in the baby's mind, and she smiled with her eyes crinkling.

At the same time, Alos also sensed her name and pronunciation through his mental sea.

"Yi…" The boy, who hadn't spoken for decades, spoke haltingly and hoarsely.

"Inia," Alos murmured to himself, the syllables dancing and swirling lightly in his throat, making him feel a little unreal and dizzy.

Human consciousness was still in a daze, but the instincts of a wild beast told him that something would start to change from today.

Alos had no time to discern anything further; his mind was filled only with the baby's name, the first name he had heard in so many years.

  —Inia.

Chapter 18 018 Willing to Give Everything

Inia had no idea how great a thing she had done. In the baby's eyes, everything was ordinary and seemed to be nothing special.

She had gotten into the habit of refreshing her nurserymen whenever she ate a new and delicious dessert, and they would eventually become Her Majesty's loyal followers.

The same thing happened when she ate the apple jelly. The baby ate it to her heart's content. Because of everyone's pampering, she reached out to her new caregiver without any shyness, wanting a hug.

The ground was too cold. This time, my new car arrived very slowly, and it looked a bit dazed.

Even though Inia is the baby, Alos also shows the immature reactions unique to immature cubs.

He stood frozen in place for two minutes, seemingly at a loss for what to do, only using his gaze to assess the current situation. And for some reason, while secretly watching the baby's expression, he kept avoiding her gaze, his eyelashes fluttering like butterflies.

After a while, Alos bent down and carefully picked her up.

Inya was already used to the dungeon lords not hugging her on their first meeting. Alos's arms were stiff as branches, and he didn't even know where to support the little one. To prevent herself from falling, she reached out her small hands and hugged the boy's neck tightly.

Alos trembled slightly; the neck is a fatal weakness for most creatures. Only when the baby's soft, warm face pressed against the side of his neck did the boy exhale uncomfortably.

His body temperature was already colder than average, and having lived in a dark place for a long time, the baby didn't get the warm embrace he wanted. Instead, he sneezed because he was frozen by the small ice cube.

Alos was slow to realize he should leave, but looking left and right, he was at a loss.

The 'tunnel' they were in now connected two worlds: the one to the left led to the underground corridor of the research institute, and the one to the right was the negative world that Alos had created with his mental power, where cold-blooded beasts like him preferred to live.

In this world, apart from the mutated virus of the evil bio-company being somewhat sci-fi, there are no other supernatural elements.

Alos, however, mastered mental power during his alienation process. He could not only use this powerful force to copy and paste the negative world that exists in the gap between illusion and reality, but he could also resonate with Inia at a high intensity.

In other words, Baby and Alos have similar power systems; they are both bosses with high mental strength.

Two people with such strong mental fortitude can not only sense each other's emotions and states on a spiritual level, but may even be able to communicate in real time across different worlds in the future.

Alos can now vaguely sense Inya's emotions, but the baby is too young, and only some very basic, underlying states are being transmitted.

For example, Inia is currently feeling unwell because of the cold.

The moment this news reached Alos's mental sea, it was as if fireworks had ignited the quiet night, and his world was no longer dark and silent.

  —He found his own kind.

This thought stirred within the boy's mind, causing his golden pupils to contract and then burst forth with light.

The right side led to his lair, a place where he felt safe and comfortable. But his baby needed warmth, so the half-snake boy turned and headed towards the left side, which led to the research institute.

After passing through the tunnel, the black fog gradually dissipated, and they returned to the underground level of the research institute.

When you look at the once eerie and silent corridor from a different angle, the danger is gone, replaced by a sense of leisurely strolling on your own turf.

, However, for the baby, this seemingly endless underground corridor was incredibly boring. She had already eaten her fill and wanted to go back to digest her food slowly.

Just then, she heard Alos's urgent plea to stay.

This scene is somewhat like two toddlers sitting together playing with toys. One of them gets bored and wants to crawl away, while the other baby doesn't like being alone and hastily drops the toy, whimpering as if about to cry.

This was the first time Inya had received such an emotion. She looked up at him, her eyes wide, seemingly quite surprised by Alos's behavior of throwing toys.

She's the kind of baby who's very emotionally stable as long as she's well-fed, watered, and receives enough love. If she could really play with other babies, Inia would definitely be the kind of curious little thing who watches the other babies cry and have fun.

"No…don't go…don't go…" Alos lowered his head, gently hugged the baby, and repeated in a hoarse voice, "I…Inia, don't go."

The boy exuded an aura of intense fear and sorrow.

After a baby is full, they usually sleep alone to digest their food, much like a small animal returning to its burrow after a meal. This natural instinct is usually hard to break, since they are still a baby who cannot communicate.

But she grew up in love and has the same instinct to love.

Seeing Alos's sad expression, Inia reached out her small hand and haphazardly stroked his cheeks and nose. Then she pressed her own face against his, nuzzling him like a little animal, and gave him a quick kiss.

The boy was comforted for the first time. He held the baby and his emotions gradually calmed down... It might also be because the baby subconsciously absorbed some of the negative energy he had been stirring up while the stickers were being applied. In any case, the snake was very easy to coax and quickly returned to calm.

Although he wasn't used to being exposed to the outside world, Alos carried Inya into the research institute's grounds because he was afraid she would get cold.

The air was hot and dry, and the sun shone down on the earth.

In a bright environment, one can clearly see that Alos's long black hair, reaching his neck, is just like his true form, reflecting a dark green hue. Under the sunlight, it looks as colorful and beautiful as bird feathers.

The baby was attracted by his hair and curiously grabbed a strand.

Alos's hair resembled a wolf's tail, only slightly longer than short hair. The baby couldn't yet control the pressure of his fingers very well, and it was easy to accidentally scratch him too hard, but the half-snake boy remained perfectly calm.

He let her play with his hair, and instead quietly held the baby close in the sunlight.

Unlike others who would hold Inya and let her sit in their laps, Alos held the baby at a higher position, burying his face in her soft belly like he was petting a cat.

Perhaps due to their almost identical mental connection, Inia seemed to be able to partially understand Alos's emotions, just like two babies communicating freely in their baby talk.

In this dream, for the first time, she didn't finish eating and run away, but stayed with the boy for a long time.

As Inya was about to wake up and had to leave, Alos, sensing this, raised his eyes and sent a small, two-way marker to the baby through their mental link, similar to leaving each other's phone numbers.

  This is

The vast difference between different power systems is evident. Although Alos was figuring out how to use his mental power on his own, he easily unlocked a new way to use the mental link simply because he shared the same mental system as Inia and followed his own ideas.

Vampire lords who wield dark magic need to start training from scratch. Even with exceptional talent, after two months of relentless training day and night, they can only manage the most basic task of ringing the doorbell.

As for 'Sea' still in the dark room, it's clear that its system is different from the other two bosses. But... never mind, things I can't remember aren't important.

The mark left by Alos, because the baby was too small, had virtually no advanced functions, but its remaining ability was very practical: when Alos missed her, she could "make a phone call" to let the baby feel her presence.

If Inya thinks of him because of this, the boy can smoothly take the baby out to play at night, which is equivalent to making an appointment in advance. Of course, it's also possible that the baby will be attracted by the vampire banging on the door outside; these things depend on luck and personal ability.

Regardless, even though Snake is currently illiterate and half-mute, his extraordinary talent seems to give him a significant advantage among the bosses.

  -

After waking up, Inia stretched comfortably on her little bed. The feeling of a full stomach made her yawn lazily.

Chu Wang, who had sent the other children away early to watch over her bed, gasped, his voice trembling, "Baby, where did you go last night?!"

All told, last night the baby crawled around in the corridor and tunnel for about fifteen minutes. Her little clothes were covered in dust and strange-colored stains, and her cuffs were even dirtier.

After all, research institutes are filthy places that have been neglected for years, and they're also the dens of cold-blooded animals. You can't expect snakes to come out and clean the floor.

Although Chu Wang has gradually accepted that Inia goes to other worlds to play at night, and even hopes that a boss can protect her with him because of her unique abilities.

His bottom line has indeed been lowered because of Inya, but... but how can the baby go to such a dirty place!

Chu Wang felt a little suffocated. He quickly changed the baby's dirty clothes, washed and scrubbed them, and then placed the clean, brand-new baby on a small blanket in the clean 'baby activity area'.

He filled a basin with water and sat on the edge of the container to wash clothes. Inya, who was full and sleepy, hugged her small blanket and dozed off beside him.

Chu Wang glanced at her sideways. No matter how many complicated emotions were churning inside him, he couldn't help but smile whenever he saw the baby.

He once desperately tried to prove himself, hoping to win the love of that couple. But now, the happiness he once longed for exists in every seemingly peaceful and ordinary day. Just seeing his baby brings him a deep sense of peace and joy.

He never imagined he would get all this so easily, and he was very content.

Chu Wang washed the baby's clothes. Although they were clean now, he couldn't forget the strange colored dirt that had stained them before, which made him reluctant to let the baby wear them again.

He hung the clothes in the container and looked again at Inya, who was snuggled in bed, feeling sleepy.

From the simplest projection of physical entities in dreams at the beginning, to now having both the materialized mental constructs in dreams and the real body belong to her, this is a sign that the baby is gradually growing.

Just like any other child who goes from crawling to walking and running, Inia will naturally begin to learn to control more of her mental power as she grows older.

  He was somewhat dazed.

Since realizing that his baby possessed unique abilities, Chu Wang has often been lost in thought, and no one knows what he is thinking.

  "Wow!"

The baby was unhappy with his neglect and started whining.

Chu Wang snapped out of his daze and sat down beside her helplessly, gently patting the baby's back.

Inia is such a mischievous little devil. Logically speaking, she doesn't seem old enough to understand other people's behavior, but whenever someone around her is busy, the baby will either play by herself or watch curiously from the side without disturbing them.

But once that person is free, neither busy nor paying attention to her, Inia will notice this very precisely, and then protest loudly until the attendant realizes his mistake, apologizes to Her Majesty the Baby, and makes up for it by spending the rest of the time playing with her.

But as long as her needs are met in time, Inia will quickly revert to her angelic self, smiling at the person who is comforting her, as if that person is her whole world.

The baby's smile melts your heart and can even make you get out of bed at 3 a.m. to reflect on how sinful it was to have neglected the baby for so long! Thankfully, His Majesty's magnanimity has forgiven your mistakes.

Hmm? What, Your Majesty? That word just slipped out of my mouth without me even realizing it...

Only Chu Wang could see clearly that Bao Bao had completely taken over their entire children's team, making every older brother and sister love her to death, and now her sphere of influence was silently expanding to the bosses.

  Everyone was willing, including him.

Chu Wang comforted Inia for a while, and when the baby realized that he didn't seem to want to leave, she immediately reached out for a hug.

Chu Wang has never refused any of her requests.

Nestled in her most familiar embrace, surrounded by a sense of security, the baby felt like a cub returning to its nest. She happily swung her legs, snuggling close to Chu Wang.

The atmosphere inside the container was warm and cozy . The originally cold and aloof young man's expression softened as he held the soft little bundle in his arms.

If there were other players or strangers here, they would definitely think he was a gentle and kind older brother.

But that's not the case; Chu Wang's true nature remains extremely dangerous. He has always had a strong tendency to turn to the dark side, and even harbors thoughts of destroying the world to take revenge on the Refining Realm Space. He's only suppressing it now for his sister's sake.

Now, in Chu Wang's heart, the baby is the most important thing; his hatred for the world and the players can be put aside for last.

If it were a truly evil boss cub, it might really become a major headache for players.

Just like he had thought when he first found the baby, based on the stereotype of monster bosses, Chu Wang believed that the harmless and innocent baby could turn into a monster and eat him at any time. As long as he could take revenge on this cruel world, he was willing to become its nourishment.

Even though it has now been proven that Inia is not a monster, and even though they have established a deep, familial relationship, Chu Wang's attitude deep down remains unchanged.

He took on the responsibility of protecting his baby as she grew up, so he would stop and control her crawling and playing time when she was weak. But apart from the most basic protection of her health, Chu Wang never thought of teaching or disciplining her.

What can I teach her? The cruel, infinite world has already completely shattered the moral system that players are familiar with, and rebuilt a cruel power system.

Chu Wang was born and raised here. He had never seen a normal society, and he had never even met a moral person in his life. Perhaps players with a conscience would also die quickly if they were to fall into the Thirty-Sixth Layer World, while cold-blooded and morally corrupt people would be able to live better and longer in this world.

He didn't think there was anything about the human players' faction that was worth learning for the baby. He himself wasn't a good role model, so what right did he have to discipline and teach her?

The baby is the master of the world, and as a boss, she should grow wildly. He felt that she shouldn't be burdened with any shackles.

Therefore, Chu Wang's attitude towards Inya was one of unconditional indulgence and pampering. He made no demands, yet was willing to give everything. The baby is still young, but aside from the fact that she might hurt herself, he would give her whatever she wanted.

It's conceivable that if Inia grows up to become an evil boss, Chu Wang will be her executioner. He will not hesitate to turn evil and degenerate, burying the last bit of kindness in his heart.

If Inya loves a peaceful and loving world, he will always be the gentle and steady older brother in her heart.

So although Chu Wang would occasionally get jealous when the baby interacted with other caregivers, he never thought of stopping it, simply because the baby needed them.

But thinking about the bosses who have established connections with Inia, none of them seem to be good role models. Those who can become rulers of a realm yet are bound by dungeons are all a bit crazy; it's a miracle my pet hasn't caught their influence.

Looking at it this way, it turns out the baby is actually the most morally upright one in the family!

However—although Chu Wang's thoughts were always so dark, a person's actions do not lie.

  he

Together with the other children, they created a warm and loving living environment for Inia, ensuring that the baby never experienced the cruelty and hardship of this world.

When the bosses treated this young girl, whether out of genuine concern or a desire to escape their current situation, they all tried to understand her and do things that made her happy.

These people, who are not very happy, have created a small, bright, and joyful world for their baby.

Inia didn't need to be taught anything; surrounded by everyone's love, she gradually became a good girl who knew how to love others.

During the day inside the container, the baby was moved from one older brother to another in the arms of different children. Each child would play with Inya when they came back to rest, until the next person to take over the duty of staying behind came to hand over the shift.

The orphans have a fulfilling day. Including Chu Wang, there are six children in total. They are divided into groups: guarding and staying behind, searching for supplies, and training their strength.

The busiest of them all was Chu Wang. He had to search for supplies regularly, train the other children's skills, and also squeeze out time to spend with Inia—no matter how easy it was to raise a baby, Chu Wang still had to spend enough time with her every day.

After all, how can the guards at the gates of hell stay away from the little hell for too long?

Chu Wang has almost no time for personal rest, nor does he need it. What he lacks most right now is time to train his abilities.

His silver-white heterochromatic eyes can see information about everything, but currently he can only see the most basic things. Chu Wang drew inspiration from the baby; although he wasn't a dungeon boss, he also possessed unusual abilities. Perhaps this ability could also evolve?

Unfortunately, without the guidance of predecessors and not being born with these skills, Chu Wang's progress is currently very slow.

The older children are busy every day, and regardless of age, both boys and girls have abs and strong muscles in their arms.

The baby's days are quite fulfilling. She crawls around inside the shipping container at a speed that's almost like she's participating in a baby sports meet. When she gets tired of crawling, she starts playing a game of 'standing up while holding on and then falling down' until she's completely exhausted. Finally, the baby plays with toys on the carpet, sometimes lying down and sometimes crawling, while also interacting with the older children who are with her.

  Inya was kept very busy!

Today is a special day because Alos conveyed his longing through their spiritual link.

The baby can't understand such complicated things yet, so when this emotion is transmitted to the baby's mind, it turns into the sweet taste of apples.

Lying in the soft blankets, Inya couldn't help but smack her lips.

Although my stomach was full, I suddenly felt a craving.

Spiritual connection is a profound and direct form of communication that can even simultaneously translate the pronunciation and text of two different languages into a form that the other party can understand.

Due to the baby's special age, the communication between the half-snake boy and Inia was also transformed into a way that she could understand.

Just like last night, when Alos subconsciously tried to keep Inya from leaving because he was afraid she would leave, if the recipient of this message were an adult, they would definitely understand his reluctance to part with her and his fear of being abandoned.

However, when this information is transmitted to the baby's mind, it is visualized as 'the baby Alos who plays with her is a crybaby, and if she leaves him, he will throw his toys and cry loudly.'

The mental link forcibly lowered the half-snake boy to Inia's age so that she could understand.

However... it seems that Alos's appearance in reality and after the transformation is not too different...?

The baby hasn't met anyone his age yet, so he has a deep impression of Alos, and he still remembers the taste of the apple jelly he just ate. He couldn't help but think of him several times throughout the afternoon.

  Wow!

Inya rolled around on the small blanket, making sounds as if looking for someone.

The older sister, Xiaoshi, who stayed behind to accompany her, reached out and ruffled the baby's hair. "Baby, do you miss Brother Chu? He'll be back soon."

Sure enough, ten minutes later, Chu Wang returned to the container with the newly found supplies. He put down his things, took off his coat, washed his hands, and skillfully picked up the baby to comfort her.

Although she was back on her throne, Inia felt something was amiss. The baby stared wide-eyed at the boy, letting out two confused "ah-ah" sounds.

The brother she's looking for is apple-flavored, not someone looking for her nest.

However, Chu Wang's embrace was so warm that after being stroked by him for a while, Inia forgot everything else and hugged Chu Wang's neck again.

Fortunately, there was a reservation system, and in the dream that night, Alos successfully picked up Inya. Upon seeing her, the boy happily hugged the baby tightly, his snake tail slapping the ground excitedly.

Meanwhile, in a castle in another world, Drest stared blankly at the prompt ahead.

[You've already made a reservation, please try again tomorrow night!]

What the heck is this "appointment" thing?!

The vampire lord angrily abandoned the half-finished baby clothes and continued to bury himself in training his mental strength.

Chapter 19-019 Will he become a bad kid who corrupts the baby...?

In order to find a suitable place for the baby to live, Alos searched the entire research institute campus.

First, we need to exclude those small buildings and other structures located on the edge of the park, because strangers often suddenly appear from that area.

Next, the three research buildings in the central area were inspected. Buildings one and three were ordinary buildings, while Building two occupied a huge area, with four floors above ground and three floors below ground. Alos's negative world was connected to the first basement floor of Building two.

In order to confine mutated animals and make them live longer, the researchers at the biochemical company had to simulate and cultivate many observation rooms in natural environments. The laboratory also developed some agents to accelerate plant growth.

Over the years, because the glass of the medicine and observation room was broken, many parts of the interior of the three research buildings have been assimilated into the natural environment, and even vegetation and trees have grown.

The combination of reinforced concrete and nature creates an indescribable eeriness.

Many other races of beasts, unlike cold-blooded animals, do not prefer shade and mostly roam these buildings on the ground.

Although these research buildings are home to many strange beasts, safety cannot be fully guaranteed, because in order to search for clues, those outsiders will always break into different parts of the buildings to search.

Yes, the illiterate Snake still doesn't know that the intruders who frequently harass his territory are all players.

It seemed that only his immediate vicinity was the safest place, but inside Building Two where he was, there didn't appear to be a suitable place to put the cub. First, he could rule out the negative world created by Alos; it was too cold and unsuitable for the baby.

In addition, the four floors above ground, like the other buildings, were filled with the smell of intruders.

Exploring and finding clues in the dungeon world and piecing together the truth are side quests for players. So some players who don't want to confront Alos but still want to earn some points will choose to search for clues all over the research institute.

Despite the fact that Alos and his instance have been infamous in the Refinement Realm for the past two years, thus receiving the same treatment as the Blood Clan Lord: most players who are randomly entered into this instance will use a life-saving charm to escape, and there are far fewer players who dare to wander around recklessly.

However, the research building was a relatively enclosed environment, and the scents of players who had been there were mixed together, making it seem as if their presence was everywhere, which made Alos feel extremely unsafe.

Ultimately, the half-snake boy decided to create another virtual space for the baby, created by his spirit.

Despite his powerful mental strength, he still struggled to maintain order in both worlds simultaneously. Moreover, the research institute had been abandoned for so many years; its power supply and the damage to the park after each player's exit were entirely sustained and repaired by Alos's mental power.

The boy's mind was clearly in trouble. Even though he was the most powerful being in the world, he was still afraid of changes in his environment.

Building No. 2 was where he had been imprisoned and experimented on for six years, and it should have been a psychological trauma that he could get rid of as soon as possible. However, Alos compulsively tried to restore it to the way he remembered it.

With the park in ruins and the negative world still there, the boy was unable to create another spiritual space.

However, this was not a problem for Alos. He did not do it immediately, but decided to wait for Inia's visit.

The boy had grown accustomed to living in a dark and damp negative world. Only when provoked would the beast-driven giant snake leave its lair to search for intruders; otherwise, he remained asleep in the darkness.

But it was obvious that that wasn't a suitable place to see the baby, so he decided to wait for her in the best spot in the research institute. After checking the area for any dangers, Alos went to the rooftop of Building Two.

He was not used to exposing himself in open spaces, so he transformed into a small snake, as if shrinking himself made him feel safe.

The two worlds exist in different time zones; day and night are reversed on both sides. Here, it's still the dead of night. Decades after the apocalypse, this planet has become a paradise for animals, free from urban pollution.

The sky was clear and bright, the Milky Way slanted across the night sky, and countless stars twinkled continuously, as if they were about to fall from the heavens.

Alos looked up at the starry sky, slightly lost in thought.

Memories of his past life are like a box that has been dusted off. As the baby saves him from the dark prison of his mind, those memories are reopened in his mind.

The boy recalled how, after being captured and brought here, the windowless confinement gradually robbed him of his ability to perceive the world. His impressions of the outside world could only be gleaned from snippets of conversation between the guards and researchers.

One day, when he groggily woke up, one of the guards was complaining outside: "...There's no holiday even for Christmas. I've been in this damned place for three years!"

"Look on the bright side, bro, at least these guys are really generous with their pay," another guard comforted him. "After we hand over our shift, we'll go to the rooftop for a couple of smokes. You can see the most beautiful view in the whole park from there."

"What scenery is there in this godforsaken place? There's only a bunch of monsters and a bunch of mad scientists..."

The voices in his memory gradually faded away, and Alos, now a small snake, looked up at the star-studded night sky.

Looking at those beautiful stars, he couldn't help but think of his baby, which gradually relaxed his tense body and made him stop feeling afraid.

The scenery here is truly beautiful.

Unbeknownst to him, Alos reverted to his original form. He sat on the edge of the rooftop, his black serpent tail drooping in mid-air.

He recalled a distant past. When he was in the orphanage, a nun had told him a fairy tale, which said that everyone who saw a shooting star could make a wish, and a god would grant their wish.

So the boy began to carefully count the shooting stars streaking across the sky and decided to use all his wishes to pray for the baby to reappear.

He gazed at the stars all night long, until dawn broke and the sun rose from the horizon, its orange-red rays flowing across the sky and illuminating the entire expanse.

After a while, the brighter and hotter sunlight shone on the earth, and the baby appeared behind the boy at some point.

Suddenly in a different place, Inia was still a little confused when she was embraced by a delighted Alos.

His wish came true, the baby really came back!

The boy hugged the baby tightly, happily repeating, "Inia, Inia..."

Because he hadn't spoken for so long, his vocal cords still needed time to recover. These days, the two words Alos speaks most fluently are 'Inia' and 'Don't go.'

Although the half-snake boy is a bit too enthusiastic and clingy, Baby likes having all the attention focused on her and enjoys having her emotions expressed directly.

"Wow!" The baby happily stuck to Alos.

Alos was waiting for Inia to come so that he could create a new virtual and real space in front of her.

He reduced his negative world to only a quarter of its original size (where the snakes and other cold-blooded mutant animals, who were dozing in the negative world, woke up to find the sky had collapsed and were running around in chaos), and then transferred his renewed spiritual power to the rooftop.

If the Negative World was built using its own power and relying on the underground environment, then the new space is exactly the opposite.

Alos wanted to build a room in the best location, a room that only he and Inia could see, and the rooftop was undoubtedly a good choice. Not only was the view beautiful, but Alos could also use the energy of the sun to make the entire space warmer.

Although this went against his usual way of living... Alos couldn't help but feel anxious when he was exposed to the sunlight, but when he looked down at the baby sitting in his lap, curiously watching the scene before him, his heart calmed down involuntarily.

Because the boy had strong mental power, the baby was able to clearly see the details of how he used his mental power.

The dark blue spiritual energy created a space of about forty square meters, like building blocks, seemingly replicating a real room in the research building.

It exists between reality and illusion, and only those with high spiritual power can see, touch, and be contained within it. Apart from them, no one else can see this space.

This level of mental power, comparable to that of a dungeon boss, is something ordinary human players absolutely cannot possess. Therefore, this is undoubtedly the safest place; players won't come to the rooftop, and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to see the pets within the space.

  Wow!

When Alos finished, the baby, who had been watching his every move from beginning to end, became excited. She waved her little hands happily, as if she could understand what he had done.

The boy picked up the baby and led her into the space for a tour. Inside was a white-walled room in the same style as the research institute, except that sunlight could filter through the mental wall into the space.

It's a rather strange feeling, as if the wall's solidity and intangibility coexist, sunlight is blocked outside yet still shines in. If you concentrate, you can see the scenery outside; if you shut out your perception of the outside world, it's just a closed room.

Inia looked around with curiosity. In the eyes of this little boss who couldn't yet control her power, this space was like a kaleidoscope, extremely interesting.

Perhaps Alos was infected by the baby's joy, because he suddenly became less resistant to the new environment. He even couldn't wait to decorate their new nest together with the baby.

The house is now empty; there's nothing there.

But where can I find suitable furniture?

Alos pondered for a while, then suddenly his eyes lit up.

He could easily find well-maintained furniture by searching through the research institute's rooms. But that didn't seem very cozy. As for the others… he remembered that a flock of mutated crows lived in Building One. They seemed to enjoy bringing back novelties. Perhaps he could check there?

So, the boy excitedly carried the baby to the crows' territory.

Since their mutation, these crows have grown to the size of a small airplane, with a wingspan of up to nine meters and a height of one and a half meters. They have sharp beaks and a pair of small red eyes that gleam with a calculating light, making them look terrifying and giving the impression that they could swallow a child whole.

The rooftop and top floor of Building 1 were occupied by crows, and the walls inside were almost completely destroyed by them, creating a large, flat floor almost entirely by birds.

It was filled with all sorts of random things they had collected, as well as many giant bird nests.

The crows seemed quite surprised that their leader, whom they hadn't seen in a century, had come to visit. They tucked their large wings in and, as Alos approached, they staggered back like free-range chickens, showing none of their usual ferocious and cunning nature.

The crows' droppings, nests, and feathers were all mixed together, and the smell wasn't pleasant. Fortunately, the mutated crows were about as intelligent as Border Collies, and they knew not to use their droppings in their own homes, instead spreading their droppings to the nearby forest; otherwise, the smell would have been even worse.

Looking at the rooftop that had been altered beyond recognition by the crows, Alos's obsessive-compulsive disorder almost became uncontrollable, and he wanted to restore it to its original state.

It wasn't until the baby in his arms started moving around curiously that Alos came to his senses and remembered that the purpose of his trip was to choose furniture and decorate their new home together. The discomfort in his heart was immediately forgotten.

If Chu Wang were here, he could definitely use his special ability to quickly find many good things, while Alos would have to search for them little by little on his own.

The boy picked and chose, and actually found some suitable furniture.

It seems that the crows not only pick up the various items left by players here, but also bring back things they like from outside the park.

From small items like teacup cushions and spatulas to larger pieces of furniture like cabinets and chairs, there was all sorts of random stuff. Even among a pile of beer caps, pen caps, coins, and other odds and ends, there were a few gemstones.

The boy was very satisfied. He made several trips back and forth, carrying back the things he had his eye on, little by little. Even though he could only use one hand because he was carrying Inya, he never thought of putting her down.

The baby also loved watching the excitement; she stayed obediently in Alos's arms, following him back and forth between the two buildings.

Because the park is large, the buildings are quite far apart; even by bus, it would take several stops to get around. Alos moved extremely fast; through their mental link, he could sense the baby's emotions and condition.

She was able to precisely control the speed to a level that was acceptable to her.

For the first time, Inia experienced what it was like to drive her brother's car. As a child who longed for freedom, she loved the feeling of speeding along and kept patting Alos's shoulder, urging him to go faster.

After just a few times, she fell in love with this new way of having fun.

The fluffy giant crows huddled in the corner, watching helplessly as their leader took away their collections one trip after another, not daring to protest even with a single cawing.

Alos placed everything he had retrieved on the rooftop, where it was covered in dust from being left in a corner for so long.

At first, the boy, who lacked common sense, did not notice anything wrong until he handed the teddy bear to the baby, who grabbed it and his hands were covered in dust.

Looking at Inya, and then at the doll that looked like it could shed ten pounds of dust, Alos finally realized something.

Although the baby didn't rummage through things herself, she would occasionally touch this and that out of curiosity while Alos was looking for things. Before she knew it, the baby had gone from a clean and fragrant little one to a little kitten covered in grime.

Alos belatedly recalled common sense from his childhood. He vaguely remembered that when he was in the orphanage, the nuns would try their best to keep the children clean. Some children would be criticized by the nuns for taking fruit with dirty hands.

He was the child who received the most praise for his hygiene because he was paralyzed in bed at the time and could not go outside to dig in the dirt, so he was always very clean and tidy.

Alos smelled the scents of many people on Inia, scents that reminded the boy of the orphanage he had attended years ago.

Thinking back carefully, it seems that the baby left dirty last time, but came back clean today... So in another world, someone cleans up for Inia, changes her dirty clothes, washes her hands and face, so that a baby who can't walk yet can stay clean.

...Won't he become that bad kid who takes the baby to dig in the dirt?

The boy was struck dumb, frozen in place. Years later, he experienced that feeling of guilt again.

The baby knew nothing, the baby was carefree and happy. While Alos was stunned and wondering about her snake life, she patted the teddy bear again.

Looking at the dust in the air, she couldn't help but pat it off, and pat it off again.

Alos, regaining his senses, quickly dropped the dirty furniture and carried the baby downstairs to the bathroom to clean it up for her, a belated attempt to salvage the situation.

Her hands and face were washed clean, but since it was the first time her new brother had done something like this, he wasn't very good at taking care of people, and Inya's face was red from wiping it.

Water trickled down the baby's neck, wetting the collar and blending with the dust that had settled on it. Alos noticed this too, and tried to rub it with his fingers after wetting it a little, but only made the stain bigger.

Because the water was too cold, Inya even sneezed.

  Alos: ...

I wish I could crawl into a crack in the ground and hibernate for a hundred years.

He rummaged through drawers and found several unopened white coats in a closet in one of the rooms. He wrapped the baby in one of them and placed her on the sofa in the lounge opposite—this time, the half-snake boy remembered to wipe it clean first.

So, Inya leaned on the sofa armrest and watched Alos bring over a bunch of things and wash them one by one in the bathroom diagonally opposite.

The warm sunlight shone on her, and the sofa was so soft. The sound of Alos washing things gradually faded into the distance...

  Inya began to feel sleepy.

The baby was already dreaming, so naturally she wouldn't fall asleep again. Her drowsiness was more like the sleep entering a deeper state, automatically disconnecting her from the dream world.

She left Alos's world, but did not wake up in the Refining Realm Space, nor did she sleep until dawn. Instead, she returned to her own private space.

The last time the baby came here, the space didn't even seem as big as a table. Then Chu Wang visited, and he saw a single room surrounded by the starry sky.

Now, perhaps because it has absorbed a lot of nourishment from the bosses over the past few months, the baby's space has grown to about 60 square meters, which is roughly equivalent to a small apartment.

Perhaps it was through her interactions with the half-snake boy, a boss with equally strong mental power, that Bao Bao unconsciously learned something. The six sides of the Star House now have walls, floors, and ceilings, no longer appearing as if suspended among the stars, but more like an ordinary room.

Just like the space Alos created on the rooftop, this room looks normal, but if you look closely, you can see the flowing galaxy behind the walls.

From this perspective, Chu Wang's choice of the name "Star House" is quite fitting for this place.

Inia crawled forward on the floor, looking around curiously.

The interior of the Star House was not an empty room, but rather filled with many odds and ends.

There was a treasure chest made by the children themselves, filled with all sorts of toys modified for the baby, including Chu Wang's coat, the little blanket she used every day, as well as rubies and oranges, and one of the rabbit dolls that 'Hai' gave her to play with.

The dream had just ended, and a black sofa had been added to the star room, with a white lab coat draped over it.

Clearly, Inia's world is filled with things she likes.

The baby came to the treasure box, lifted the loosely closed lid with his little hands, and took out the little cricket that his little brother had made out of long grass.

Her own world was like her mother's womb, making the baby feel safe and secure, so she didn't go around looking for people, but played by herself for a long time.

It wasn't until a while later that the baby realized something seemed to be missing.

She put down her toy, looked up at the rest of the room, and asked with some confusion, "Brother?"

The container where the children were and their own little world both gave Inia the feeling of home. For a moment, she confused the two and didn't understand why Chu Wang hadn't come to hug her today.

As soon as she finished speaking, a familiar figure appeared in the Star House.

  -

In the months since Inia's arrival, Chu Wang has had no more nightmares. He's gotten used to sleeping soundly until dawn. Suddenly finding himself in an unfamiliar place, the boy instinctively tenses up, ready for battle.

Until he first saw the baby sitting on the floor, the room gave him a strange sense of familiarity, and Chu Wang was taken aback.

  "Nia?"

His body seemed to have an automatic treasure-collecting function; before his mind could even process it, his hand had already instinctively pulled Inya into his arms.

He touched the baby's head and then noticed her baby clothes were dirty again.

...Why do I feel like it's not surprising at all?

The world ruler that Baby encountered these past two nights was completely different in style from the previous boss who gave out gems and oranges.

He looked up and around, then at Inya, who was clinging to his neck, and said gently, "Is this your world?"

Even though the baby plays with other bosses every night now, he's still the first person she invited, right? Thinking this, Chu Wang's mood couldn't help but leap with joy.

Although we don't know what made him happy, seeing him smile made the baby smile happily too.

Chu Wang carried Inya on a tour of her house. The baby was very much the owner of the house, insisting that he look at all the things she liked, and occasionally she would generously give him toys, making the boy both amused and exasperated.

Perhaps because he had been taking care of the child for so long, he felt upset seeing things scattered all over the floor, and started tidying up the baby's room in his dreams.

He set the treasure chest aside, pushed the sofa to the corner, and placed the rabbit plush toy on the sofa. As for his coat and white lab coat… Chu Wang couldn't help but think that it would be nice to have a coat rack; for now, he could only fold them up.

He recalled the time when he lived with that couple, and there was an iron coat rack outside their room. It seemed that when players bought housing with points, it would come with a basic set of furniture, including the coat rack.

Having spent six years in the garbage world, Chu Wang had almost forgotten that he had ever lived in other worlds. He hadn't seen such a nice room in a long time, which made the young man momentarily dazed.

As soon as Chu Wang turned around, he saw a coat rack about his height on the open ground behind him, which looked exactly like the one he had just imagined.

  Chu Wang: ...

What's going on? Your wish has come true?

Chapter 20 020 Secretly Enjoying It

Chu Wang touched the coat rack in disbelief. It was real and reliably held two pieces of clothing, showing no sign of disappearing. This illogical scene made him turn to look at the young master of this space.

The baby was lying limply on the sofa armrest, snuggled up next to the purple rabbit doll.

Her small face was fair with a rosy glow, and her lower lip, red from oral sex, had been gently wrapped around her lips, giving them a moist sheen. In addition...

With her upturned, curly hair, long eyelashes, and large amber eyes, she looks like a little doll come to life.

While her brother was busy packing, Inya quietly leaned against the rabbit, lost in thought. Her obedient and adorable appearance was simply heart-melting.

Chu Wang's cold and hardened heart was struck once again.

—The baby is so young, what could she possibly know? She's already let him into her own space. As the older brother, he can't rely on his younger sister for everything!

Studying rules was a piece of cake for Chu Wang, because his heterochromatic eyes were capable of seeing through the information of all things.

However, as the dungeon master, even though she is still very young, her level is still higher than his. In the past, if Chu Wang wanted to see her condition, he had to use all his abilities and add a high level of concentration of 120; now the requirements would only be higher.

He tried to use his abilities here, and in the blink of an eye, Chu Wang felt as if all his power had been drained away, and his body instantly became weak.

But he still saw the current rules of Baby Space.

  [[World-level (?)] Master: Inya (Infancy)]

[Administrator (1/1): Chu Wang] [Administrator privileges enabled]

  Visitor: [No permission to query]

  Blacklist: [No permission to query]

...What difference does it make whether I see the rule or not?

Chu Wang could sense that if he were strong enough, he should be able to access and query the administrator's specific permissions. But it was obvious that his level was far below that of Xingwu; just one glance was enough to drain all his energy, and his vision went black.

He simply sat on the floor, leaning against the sofa to recover. The baby crawled around on the sofa behind him, curiously tugging at his hair.

Then, Chu Wang noticed that the baby's space was adding blue bars to his mana bar, increasing by +1.

Once his arms regained some strength and stopped trembling, he picked up the restless baby and held her as she slowly recovered.

As Inya sat in Chu Wang's lap playing with the rabbit ears, she felt his chin gently resting on the top of her head, and his shoulders trembling slightly.

The baby felt an itch on her head and reached out to push Chu Wang's chin, but the boy grabbed her little hand and kissed the soft back of her hand.

"Whoa?" Inya looked up at Chu Wang from his arms.

In this space where only he and his baby were, the boy's eyes were almost overflowing with laughter, but he forcibly suppressed it.

If Inia grows up a bit more, she will know that this kind of feeling is called smug satisfaction.

Chu Wang was very clever; he immediately guessed that this might be related to the stamp that Bao Bao had given him back then.

Just think about it, Inia stamped his name, sent him to her own space to recover his body, and even gave him the administrator privileges. These are all unique favors, and she was just a baby who couldn't even speak yet!

The fact that she could do all this only shows that she truly loves him, her brother, and that he is the one she loves most among all the people in the family.

How could Chu Wang not be secretly pleased? He almost burst out laughing.

Fortunately, there were no other younger siblings here, so he didn't have to keep a straight face. Otherwise, the children would be very surprised to see their mature and composed older brother showing such a side of himself.

The baby felt that her attendant was acting a little strange today. She rejected his embrace and quickly crawled to the side to play with her toys by herself.

After a while, once his strength had recovered and his emotions had calmed down, Chu Wang squatted on the open ground with great enthusiasm and began his research.

The rules for the space are temporarily unavailable, but you can still try to see what specific permissions the baby has given him.

As a result, random things would appear in front of Chu Wang from time to time, attracting the baby's attention.

After several experiments, Chu Wang temporarily determined his authority regarding furniture... or rather, his ability to 'create' things within the space. He could copy anything he had ever seen or touched into this room, but currently only a maximum of three could exist at a time, and their size could not be too large.

Chu Wang went through his memories, but there didn't seem to be anything suitable for a baby. After all, if a player has a child, it's usually to train the child to be their assistant, so toys and the like wouldn't be present.

Moreover, from a personal perspective, he didn't want to bring out the old things he used when he lived in that house, because just seeing them would trigger bad memories.

After thinking for a while, Chu Wang finally replicated a small flower bed, on which more than ten different kinds and colors of flowers bloomed, growing lush and green together.

This was the garden he saw when he was a child, when he followed that couple to other worlds. The vibrant, blooming flowers were so beautiful and exquisite that they left a deep impression on him.

Within the Refinement Realm, there exists a 'ultimate goal' for players. Once the requirements are met, players can leave and return to reality with the money, lifespan, and other valuables they've redeemed using their points.

However, most players who can reach this standard are no longer adapted to the rule of law society outside, and are even more reluctant to give up the foundation they have built in the space. Therefore, most top players eventually choose to stay and live in the Refining Realm Space.

Now it seems that the world that Chu Wang thought was very beautiful must be inhabited by top-ranked players, right?

He seemed to realize something, and the corners of his mouth involuntarily turned down.

Chu Wang picked up the baby and took her to see the flowers. Inia really liked the little flower bed; she curiously plucked off the petals and played with them in her hands.

Before long, the flowers that had been hurt by the delicate hand grew back to their original state as if nothing had happened.

  -

When Chu Wang woke up, he opened his eyes to the familiar container roof.

He had exhausted his energy in the Star House and thought he would have a headache when he woke up, but the Star House replenished his energy again, and the boy once again experienced the feeling of light hands and feet and a clear mind.

Most importantly, just thinking about the unique administrator privileges the baby gave him made Chu Wang feel light and airy, an indescribable sense of ease.

All morning, the children noticed that Brother Chu was in a good mood, even though his expression remained as calm as ever. Hmm... it feels like this scene has happened before?

"Brother Chu, are you in a good mood today?" Charlie asked with a smile.

Chu Wang paused, then nodded. "I had a good dream."

  Meanwhile, Inya also woke up.

Normally, if the baby wakes up before Chu Wang leaves, he'll play with her for half an hour first. Once the baby has the impression of having seen her brother today, she won't look for him everywhere during the day.

But this time when Chu Wang went over, Inia only played with him for a short while before going to Lina for a hug.

Everyone was surprised that Brother Chu could ever fall out of favor with Bao Bao.

Chu Wang knew that because the baby couldn't distinguish between dreams and reality, she felt that they had been alone together for several hours, so she had temporarily lost interest in him.

It's alright, Chu Wang can be magnanimous and tolerate everything.

He smiled and stroked the baby's soft hair before getting up to look for supplies.

Before leaving, Chu Wang suddenly remembered the coat that the baby had left in his space. He turned around honestly, changed into the coat, and finally put on his bag and left.

The children who watched helplessly as he did this: ...

My brother is acting really strange today!

  ·

Chu Wang arrived at the edge of the ocean of garbage. After a month of exploration, he had mastered a route that only he could remember, so he wouldn't accidentally step into the ocean and be swallowed up.

He moved forward on different scraps until he reached a point 200 meters from the shore, where he stopped and activated his heterochromatic eye power.

Looking up, Chu Wang was taken aback.

Originally, in the sea of garbage, he only saw general gray labels such as "waste" and "garbage," without any detailed information, which he had to identify individually to make them appear.

Now, what he saw were detailed labels like "[Scrapped Washing Machine (Junk)]" and "[Worn-out Hoodie (Trash)]," and the gray clouds seemed even denser. Most importantly, he actually withstood such a massive amount of information!

His superpower seems to have... leveled up?

Chu Wang gently touched his eyes. The garbage sea was not a place for contemplation; he had to be constantly alert for other wandering players. He temporarily suppressed his lighthearted mood and focused intently on searching for something.

The entire Refining Realm has a total of ninety-nine worlds, but only thirty-six of them are used for garbage disposal, which is why such a large-scale ocean of garbage can be formed.

However, the junk items here aren't just everyday items; many are players' own props, displayed on their system pages.

When you look at it, you don't notice anything wrong with it, but once it becomes real scrap, it looks a bit strange.

For example, that washing machine used to be a prop, an escape prop. Players had to stick their heads in, and the washing machine would randomly throw them 500 meters away. That's probably why it was scrapped.

Chu Wang would occasionally look at the detailed information of the trash items. Because the items in the Refining Realm were quite mixed, as they were based on countless dungeons with different worldviews and power systems, he would sometimes speculate and think about the background of these items.

Even though Inia is a very well-behaved and easy-going child, having a baby still increases daily expenses.

Chu Wang specially found many relatively intact clothes and fabrics for her. After mending them, they could be made into blankets to lay on the floor so the baby could continue her marathon crawling adventure. There were also some better quality ones that he would make into small clothes and diapers for her.

They also selected and took away some waste materials that were suitable for being turned into toys.

Besides these, the most important supplies are food and tools, which is where the usefulness of Chu Wang's upgraded power becomes apparent. With detailed descriptions, he no longer needs to read them one by one; he can simply scan them and find useful items among dozens of tags.

The concepts of waste and trash are defined by the system, which serves the instance. Therefore, some trash that is useless to players can help children live.

For example, Chu Wang found a stone in a trash can.

[Foaming Stone (Trash): A useless little stone that produces hand soap bubbles when touched, providing 1 point of hygiene.]This level of hygiene is rather useless for players, but it's perfect for kids to clean themselves. So what if you get fewer points? It's better than nothing.

Chu Wang returned home with a full load on this trip.

I went back to check on the baby at noon and ate a little something. In the afternoon, as usual, he took the other two children to practice their skills. Today, it was Lina and Tangdou's turn.

A few hours later, he took Charlie and Little Dot on another patrol around the neighborhood before returning to the container with peace of mind.

Inia hadn't seen Chu Wang much all day, and her previous perfunctory attitude from the morning was gone; she was now very enthusiastic about wanting a hug. The children secretly breathed a sigh of relief; they had all been worried that their older brother and the baby might have had a fight, thankfully.

Before going to sleep, it was still Chu Wang who coaxed Inia to sleep.

Even though he knew that his baby would most likely go to another world tonight, Chu Wang no longer felt depressed or secretly jealous.

Why? Because he's the administrator, while those bosses are just visitors. Actually, you can't say that, since they've never been to Baby's space, so they're just casual acquaintances.

Oh no, I can't help but feel a secret thrill again.

That evening, the ever-vigilant Drester finally managed to invite the baby once again.

Drest himself didn't expect it to be so easy. He thought that with the dungeon master who could be booked, it would be even harder for him to see Inya in the future. He never expected that he would snatch her away so easily.

Unbeknownst to the vampire lord, Alos became extremely depressed after realizing he lacked common sense and had failed to take good care of the baby.

After the half-snake boy washed and cleaned all the furniture he had chosen, he still felt guilty and embarrassed to invite her.

For the rest of the day and night, he transformed into a small snake, hiding himself in the shadows of a corner of his den, acting wildly and emo, with only the tip of his tail dangling out.

I always feel that if the baby doesn't call him personally, Alos will grow into a mushroom in this shadow.

Chapter 21 021 A gust of wind sucked in an adorable baby bumblebee...

Drest hadn't felt this anxious and uncertain feeling in many years.

The feeling of being weak and powerless, unable to take control, and ultimately only able to pray to God, was truly unpleasant. If it weren't for Inya, he would have almost forgotten that he had ever been in such a sorry state.

Although the feeling of being at a disadvantage was very uncomfortable, this competition and sense of crisis allowed the vampire lord, who had been trapped in the castle for years, to experience the joy of climbing up again.

Drester picked up the baby, ruffled her hair, and said, "My dear Inya, it's been a few days since we last met. Do you remember me?"

Of course the baby remembers, even though it was only when we met that she remembered.

But Inia's affection for her caretakers was genuine. She affectionately nuzzled the vampire, and in her excitement, she babbled incoherently, providing plenty of emotional value.

Having just eaten the snake's apple jelly two days prior, Inya wasn't very hungry and showed no interest in biting Drest again. Otherwise, it would seem rather inappropriate for a human cub to bite a vampire every time.

But when Drest brought in the hot milk from outside again, the baby, who wasn't hungry just a moment ago, suddenly swallowed and reached out her little hand.

  "Ugh, I'm hungry!"

Having not seen Inya for two days, Drest thought he would be impatient. However, spending time with the baby was a necessary slowing-down exercise.

If the other person is an adult, or even a four or five-year-old child, you can solve problems through communication and express your emotions.

But Inya doesn't understand anything yet, so what can you say to her?

If you look into those clear, beautiful eyes, you'll find that in this clueless baby, all you can see is the adult's own reflection.

A child who is carefree and happy when being cared for by others, but becomes sad and cries because of his unwillingness to accept defeat, then the image reflected in the baby's eyes must be that of a true loser who can't accept defeat.

So when he picked up Inya again, Drest was calm, showing no trace of the anxiety and frustration he had felt over the past two days.

Except when crawling, babies should do everything slowly, especially eating and drinking. Drester patiently fed her milk spoonful by spoonful, and their teamwork seemed much smoother this time around.

The young man still remembers how thin and frail Inya looked when he first saw her, and now the chubby and adorable baby gives him a sense of accomplishment in taking care of her.

After drinking the warm milk, the baby, smelling of milk, snuggled into the vampire's arms and skillfully found a comfortable spot.

Drester readily took her in his arms and led the baby through the vast room and corridors. The entire top floor of the castle served as his living quarters, so you can imagine how large it was.

Drest stopped as he walked past the beautiful paintings, precious decorations, and a jumble of player items.

"From now on, this whole area is yours." He said gently. "You are welcome to stay here anytime you wish."

The main living area of Dreister consisted of several rooms connected together. He chose the room next to his for the baby. The dangerous decorations that were unsuitable for children had been removed, and the room was covered with a thick carpet. Only some paintings remained on the walls.

A sofa and coffee table sat in one corner of the room, while an intricately carved wardrobe and a large bed stood on the other side. Apart from these, there was no other furniture. The room appeared to be at least 100 square meters, yet with so little furniture, it felt somewhat empty.

The baby looked around curiously from the vampire's arms, then leaned back to look at Drester.

The young man reached out and touched her forehead. Even though he knew the baby couldn't understand yet, he still explained, "You're too young now to need so many things. You can choose them yourself when you grow up."

He was initially worried that the dungeon's cycle might swallow up all the arrangements and restore everything to its original state. But since the baby arrived in this world, the dungeon has quietly undergone some changes.

Hey Drester first noticed something amiss when he left the orange peel after feeding the baby oranges.

Because the instance would restore everything, after Inia left, the vampire casually placed the used bowls, spoons, and orange peels on the tray without cleaning up.

The next day, when the castle was restored, the power of the dungeon seemed to have swept over the tray without touching it—neither the orange peels nor the bowls and spoons disappeared or were restored!

Drester sat on the sofa for ages, just to look at the little wonders displayed on the coffee table.

The dungeon's power has a loophole. Is this a coincidence, or has the arrival of the baby really changed something invisibly?

Furthermore, the cloth he used to pack the oranges for the baby and take him away from this world never reappeared, so the room finally suffered real damage, rather than being restored or reset.

Next came the baby clothes he had the elves make, and Dreister was determined to use this opportunity to find out whether the previous events were just a coincidence.

To players, the numerous undead races in the manor are merely spawning monsters; in reality, they each have their own life cycles and constantly regenerate through reincarnation. However, the use of elves as baby clothes is a novel concept.

  The variables that appear.

Despite living in a medieval-like fantasy world, Dreister learned to conduct scientific experiments without any formal instruction.

He divided the baby clothes into different control groups and found that the clothes he had touched and the little pockets he had hastily learned to sew did not disappear and reappear the next day. However, the clothes that the fairy brought him but had not touched disappeared before his eyes as the system reset.

Finally, Drest confirmed that anything he and Inia had touched had escaped the fate of being restored to its original state.

This is incredibly exciting news, and it's unclear how it happened, but it must be related to the baby's arrival—she didn't even do anything, yet she possesses the power to influence the instance.

Right now, only some items have escaped the dungeon's cycle. Given more time, perhaps the entire manor will be able to break free from the dungeon's curse!

The room the vampire prepared for the baby remained unchanged despite the player's arrival and the reset.

However, she is still too young, and the only clothes in the room that the baby can use right now are those in the closet.

Drest placed the baby on the bed and went to the wardrobe to take out the baby clothes sewn by the elves. These little clothes were finely made, with beautiful patterns and delicate stitches.

He had to admit that his current sewing skills couldn't match those of the wood elves, who possessed racial talents. Most importantly, wood elves could infuse their unique healing power into the stitching of patterns.

In other words, clothing made by Wood Elves has levels, making it rare equipment for players. While the bonus is very limited for a boss as powerful as Drest, it's very suitable for pets.

Inya lay face down in the middle of the bed, while Drest held the stack of clothes. He tilted his head and couldn't resist placing the little clothes around her one by one.

Hmm... Although it's a silly thing to do, the baby looks even cuter among a bunch of little clothes.

Inia has always been a curious and energetic child. She didn't stay still for more than a few seconds before pulling over the clothes placed next to her and examining them carefully, as if she could understand what they were.

The clothes she grabbed were a modified version of a crawling suit made by elves.

In the world of Dresden, there were no onesies for babies; instead, babies wore long white robes that reached their feet, also known as christening gowns.

White fabric is easy to clean, and some nobles would sew patterns or pleats onto the hems of their garments as decoration. After Dreister ruled the continent, many families would embroider the moon, representing him, on the corners of their children's clothes, hoping that the infants would grow up healthy.

Praying to vampires—this is a spectacle that can only be witnessed in this world.

After Drest described the romper Inia had worn to the elves, the elves immediately created an upgraded version of the onesie and even thoughtfully included a magic diaper.

Because the vampire lord allowed them to express themselves, the elves really incorporated all the elements they liked into these clothes. Inia is currently holding a crawling suit that resembles a bumblebee.

The outfit itself features yellow and black stripes, and when the baby puts it on, they look just like an adorable little bumblebee as they crawl around. The crotch pocket of the bumblebee outfit is beige, which matches the white bottoms of some bumblebees, and it's also detachable for easy diaper changes.

As Drester watched the little bumblebee wriggling on the bed, he involuntarily covered his mouth with his hands.

At that moment, it was as if the door to a new world had been suddenly opened to him.

Over the next half hour, he changed the baby into several other outfits, including a pink and white romper that seemed to be inspired by an orchid and a praying mantis. However, because Inya was now chubby, the mantis design was no longer visible, leaving only cuteness.

There are also cat-themed three-piece sets of clothes, pants, and hats; a romper with many beautiful and intricate butterflies sewn on it by a master embroiderer; a little skirt with a flower pattern on it, representing the kind of honey that wood elves love to drink; and so on.

The wood elves clearly love cute and pretty things, and even the cats that often bother the flowers and plants are favored by them and their images are left on their clothes.

However, the most out of place was a set of clothes with the moon, withered trees, and bats as totems, which combined religion with the bizarre and grotesque, and was even made with a complete set of little hats, socks, clothes, pants, and a bodysuit.

Clearly, this was made specifically to flatter their boss. After all, in a world ruled by vampires, even the most principled working-class monsters will try to please their boss when communicating with them.

But in reality, Dreister wasn't interested in the stereotypical vampire elements. However, the whole world, from humans to monsters, thought he liked them, and if he refused, everyone would have to go to great lengths to find new ways to please him. So the young man simply conformed to everyone's stereotypes and accepted his preference for everything related to vampires.
