The next morning, Ning Wei woke up to find her mother already in the kitchen, preparing breakfast. As she walked over, Qing Ke turned around and smiled. "Good morning."
"Miss Qing, you're up so early." Ning Wei gave her mother a lookover. "Are you feeling alright? Brother Fu said you drank a lot yesterday."
Qing Ke laughed. "I'm fine. I rarely have the time to go out for a drink. I didn't cause you trouble, did I?"
"Of course, not," Ning Wei answered. "You were sleeping soundly by the time I got home."
The person who got into trouble after Qing Ke drank too much was Fu Ming Shi. By the time Ning Wei arrived at home, Qing Ke was deep in her sleep. Later, Ning Wei checked on her mother a few times and helped her to change into comfortable clothes.
"How was your dinner?" Qing Ke asked. She turned around and placed the sunny side up on the plate. "Is everything going well?"
