With the Rain ninja's withdrawal, Konoha was now facing the Sand and the Stone.
However, the Third Tsuchikage was a cunning old fox. He did not directly engage Konoha but instead watched from the sidelines, constantly stirring up trouble between the Sand and Konoha.
Ōnoki had withdrawn the main force of the Stone back to their own country, leaving only a small force to defend the border. He would occasionally send out small squads, disguised, to launch sneak attacks on both Konōha and the Sand.

So, Konoha's border forces were almost entirely engaged with the Sand. The Land of Rain and the Land of Rivers had become long-term battlefields.
In the Sand Village, the Third Kazekage's face was ashen. After learning that the puppet brigade, which had cost them countless resources and money to build, had been completely wiped out in a sneak attack on Konoha, he was furious and immediately sent in reinforcements, intending to wipe out all the Konoha forces in the Land of Rain.
The main force of the Sand pushed forward, causing a lot of trouble for An Yan, Tsunade, and the others. The Konoha forces on the border were only a part of their total strength. In this situation, the Third Kazekage personally took the field. Chiyo was sent back to the village to stand guard and take care of her grandson, Sasori. After her son and daughter-in-law had both been killed in battle, she had clearly lost the will to fight.

Jiraiya was seriously injured. The young Jiraiya was still relatively weak, far from the super-Kage level he would reach later. He wasn't even Kage-level yet. He was taken down in an instant.
"Jiraiya!"
Tsunade had just stepped out of her tent when she saw him get injured. She immediately summoned a giant slug and distributed smaller ones to all the Konoha ninja for emergency healing.
An Yan, who had come out with her, acted quickly and saved Jiraiya in the nick of time. Konoha had almost lost a super-Kage level seed.
Tsunade began to treat him. A large amount of iron sand had accumulated in his abdomen and was very difficult to remove. But Tsunade had long since developed the Delicate Illness Extraction Technique and could handle it easily.

An Yan raised his hand to the sky. Thunder rumbled in the clouds. A dragon made of lightning poked its head out, its form lifelike.
The ninja on the battlefield were stunned. The dragon's head was so realistic, it looked like a real divine dragon. The hundred-meter-long lightning dragon charged at the Third Kazekage.
This was the S-rank lightning-style ninjutsu An Yan had created, inspired by Sasuke's Kirin: Heavenly Thunder's Descent.
