Without hesitation,Andrea entered the car,desperate for warmth and comfort.
"I always told you,women are way too weak"
The voice sent heat radiating through her body
She tried to kill her sobs but the harsh memory of what Liam did,kept playing in her head
"I'm not weak"Andrea tried to steady her breath,raising her head to look at the man whose hands were placed tightly on the steering wheel,his face fixed on the road
"How do you explain tears?" A chuckle escaped his lips as his brown eyes scanned her blue ones for what felt like seconds before he diverted his gaze back to the road
"The ability to shed tears while in pain isn't known as weakness but as strength"
Andrea wiped her tears,pulling the strands of hair sticking to her face into a loose ponytail
"You know,this is why I hired you,you're intelligent"the man behind the wheel praised,digging his hand into his dusty black hair
"But you haven't been able to provide any results so far" The car stopped abruptly making Andrea hit her head on the dash board,blood pouring down her forehead
Fear took over Andrea,her tears now dried up as her fingers tried to sooth the arching that was coming from her head
"Im sorry" Andrea shaky breath took over the air,her eyes looking at everywhere but his
"Sorry would do very little in this situation. I need results and I need them fast"
"I'm trying my best"
A huge muscular hand wrapped tightly around her neck, her eyes widened,her breath hitched as the hand grip grew tighter around her neck,pulling her closer to his lips
"You've two more months,give me results or lose your life" The voice spat,releasing his grip from Andrea's neck and tossing her away,her head hit harshly on the car's glass sending a shock wave of pain through her entire body
Andrea's coughs filled the air,as she placed a hand on her chest trying to catch her breath
"Drink this" The voice commanded,pointing a bottle of water towards Andrea
Andrea wanted to reject it,yell at him for almost granting her death and slam the door in his face but doing all that would only ensure more punishments and Andrea's body wasn't capable of taking any more bruises
Andrea placed her lips on the bottle,pushing the warm liquid down her throat in attempt to steady her breathing
"Let's get you home"
The engine roared to life,as the car drove off
Few minutes later,the familiar view of Andrea's house came to view,a black Lamborghini packed outside
Anger and hurt crushed through Andrea's veins as her eyes landed on Liam
Liam was seated on a stair,his head resting on the wall,his eyes shut closed
What was he doing here? Andrea questions herself as she quietly gets out of the car.
Andrea took long angry steps towards Liam,the sound of her steps filling the silence
"What're you doing here?" Andrea yelled,enough to wake Liam up from his slumber
"Andrea" Liam blinked few times to make sure Andrea was truly in front of him and not an elision
"Liam,leave before I alert the cops"Andrea warned, Liam face fell in disappointment as he lifted himself from the floor and walked back to his car and drove off
Andrea stood still,her head blazing with pain and her arms shaky.
A pit grew in her stomach as she watched Liam's car disappear into the night,a tear slid down her eyes and she immediately wiped it off.
"You've two more months,give me results or lose your life"
Those word ringed in her head.
She immediately reminded herself that she shouldn't be crying but instead be thinking of ways to execute Lucas plan so she doesn't lose her life.
Andrea made way into the house,silence welcoming her,the house was empty with charlotte.
Charlotte was the one who brought joy into the house with her contentious laughter and loud voice
But now,without charlotte,the house felt lonely
Another tear slid down Andrea's eyes and she immediately wiped it off
"I shouldn't cry" Andrea reminded herself,walking into the bedroom,her and charlotte used to sleep
Andrea's eyes scanned charlotte's bed and it was a mess like usual,clothes were scattered all over the bed and floor along side shoes and bags.
Charlotte was never the tidy type,she always throw everything out of place and every time Andrea complained,a chuckle would be Charlotte's response telling Andrea,she worries too much
A small smile lifted Andrea's features as her eyes landed on a picture hanging on the wall.
It was a picture of little charlotte and Andrea back in college:Charlotte's arm were well rested on Andrea's shoulder,huge toothy smiles playing on both their lips. Charlotte was dressed in a bright yellow sun dress,her brown hair packed into a tight ponytail,the sun light casting warm shades on her face,giving it a warm glow while Andrea was dress in black joggers and a black shirt,her blonde hair left to cascade down her shoulders.
Andrea traced the picture with her finger tips unable to control the tears that fell from her eyes.
Charlotte was Andrea's only friend,only family and she was laying in an hospital bed,fighting for her life
Andrea couldn't help but feel she was bad luck.
