Chapter 288 - Chapter 288 Imotar

After escorting the civilians away, Tydasshid immediately set off in the direction of the beast's roar.

He encountered no obstacles along the way and soon arrived at the library of Ereylas.

The number of books here was countless, appearing to be half again as many as in Nordrassil's library. It should be noted that Nordrassil's library not only contained books saved by Sindorei but also many works by Gales Tower and many Archmages of Nordrassil, which were not only extremely rich in content but also covered almost all categories of spells.

Metri checked it and explained to Tydasshid, "Your Highness, a large portion of the books here are about strange and unusual events. Even the spellbooks are far inferior in quality to those collected by Gales Tower. Only a small part are rare magic books; the others are not very valuable and can only be considered recreational reading."

"Even so, it's still astonishing," Tydasshid said. "The Azshara Dynasty's flourishing magic truly wasn't just talk."

Intelligent beings all share a common flaw: they favor the past over the present. There's no way around it; they haven't seen past events and can only rely on imagination, which naturally comes with some filters.

Metri, however, came from the Azshara Dynasty and did not agree with Tydasshid's words: "While Azshara made some contributions to magic, the entire Azshara Dynasty's contributions are not as great as Your Majesty's alone."

Tydasshid was stunned. Although he knew his father was powerful, he didn't think it was that exaggerated.

Metri didn't have time for a detailed explanation. "You will understand once you have seen all the books stored here."

Tydasshid became interested. He said to the Royal Mage Riverwind, who was Adal's father, "Take all the books here back with us."

"Yes, sir."

Mage Riverwind was highly trusted due to his son, Adal.

Continuing forward, they reached the deepest part of the palace.

Metri stopped, vigilantly saying, "There are very powerful Arcane fluctuations ahead. Prince Tothsedrin seems to have set up a magic array inside."

Just as he spoke, the beast's roar came again.

Metri alertly said, "I sense the aura of a demon."

Tydasshid frowned, "Is Tothsedrin summoning demons? To resist us?"

"Probably not," Metri said. "Tothsedrin wouldn't be so unwise as to openly defy Your Majesty."

Even when Gale was in seclusion, Tothsedrin didn't dare to kick him when he was down. Moreover, now, under Gale's leadership, the Kaldorei Empire was at its zenith, unless Tothsedrin's brain had been eaten by dogs.

The Mages deciphered the array on the door, and what greeted their eyes was a giant figure.

A Felhound!!!

Sure enough, Tothsedrin had summoned a demon.

"Quick, Immol'thar is about to escape."

The Ereylas Mages, while stabilizing the array, warned their companions.

Immol'thar was a Dread Lord's pet, so it was powerful. However, no matter how strong it was, it couldn't withstand the siege of hundreds of Mages.

However, the Ereylas Mages did not want to kill Immol'thar; they only wanted to trap it.

Tydasshid, however, paid no mind to this. Seeing Immol'thar charge towards a spell node, about to swallow the Mage there, Tydasshid immediately blinked over, raised the Hammer of Kaz'goroth, and struck Immol'thar.

Dong—

The striking sound echoed in the palace, and Immol'thar watched its body collapse in terror, letting out an unwilling cry.

"You killed it..."

The Ereylas Mages did not thank Tydasshid for saving their lives; instead, they glared at him as if Tydasshid had killed their parents and loved ones.

Tydasshid ignored their attitude, placing the Hammer of Kaz'goroth on the ground to show he had no ill will.

"Is Prince Tothsedrin here?"

"Young man, who are you?"

The Mages gathered around, and the leading Mage asked.

Metri blinked over and said to that Mage, "Long time no see, Tothsedrin."

"Metri?"

Tothsedrin was a little surprised and turned to look at the Kaldorei Mages who had surrounded them.

"Did Gale send you to deal with me?"

"Your Majesty has more important matters, but he sent Prince Tydasshid."

Tothsedrin looked at Tydasshid in surprise, "You are Gale's son, the so-called Prince of the Earth?"

Tydasshid nodded, "I am here on my father's orders to welcome Prince Tothsedrin back to the Empire."

"This doesn't look like you're welcoming me."

The Ereylas Mages vigilantly watched the Mages surrounding them. The atmosphere instantly grew tense; a single misstep could trigger a war.

Tydasshid's tone was soft, but his words were firm.

"That depends on your decision. If you return to Nordrassil with me, everything will be fine. If you don't want to go back, then I can only be a little more forceful."

The Ereylas Mages were very displeased, "If you want war, then we will give you war."

Dong—

The Hammer of Kaz'goroth struck the ground, making a huge sound that drowned out the Mages' clamor.

Tydasshid said indifferently, "The Kaldorei Empire has never feared war. Ereylas has always been an inseparable territory of the Empire. If you obey my father's command, all will be well. If anyone dares to disobey, they will be charged with treason."

The Mages quieted down. They were merely dissatisfied with Tydasshid's arrogant attitude but did not want to betray the Kaldorei Empire. Although they did not recognize Gale's kingship, until a new king replaced Gale, Gale was still the de jure king of the Kaldorei Empire.

Tothsedrin warily looked at the Hammer of Kaz'goroth. Others might not know what it was, but he knew perfectly well.

Gale had actually given the Titan artifact to Tydasshid, which showed his affection for Tydasshid. War would be easy, and killing Tydasshid was not impossible, but Gale's wrath was not something Ereylas could bear.

Azshara could destroy Nordrassil by herself, and Gale naturally could too.

However, to surrender just like that, Tothsedrin was a little unwilling.

Metri then asked, "Are you summoning demons to solve the Arcane addiction?"

The Ereylas Mages immediately looked over.

Metri said, "Your Majesty Gail has already found a way to combat Arcane addiction."

This simple sentence instantly shattered the Mages' psychological defenses. Since suffering from Arcane addiction, their emotions had become unstable. They would often fight at the slightest disagreement.

Otherwise, with their cultivation, how could they have been so easily provoked by a single sentence from Tydasshid?

Tydasshid opportunely said, "As long as you return to Nordrassil, you will no longer suffer from Arcane addiction. Furthermore, you will gain eternal life."

Eternal life?

Upon hearing this, the Mages' eyes immediately lit up. If they had eternal life, they would have endless time to explore the secrets of the Arcane.
