Chapter 171 - 171: Infinite Speed

Xia Jie, the last king of the Xia dynasty was the most brutal tyrant in five thousand years of Chinese history.

Even the infamous King Zhou of the Shang dynasty paled in comparison.

So giving that name to a car… the meaning is obvious.

This machine is a tyrant.

When it runs, it completely ignores the driver's feelings.

It abandons all comfort, all mercy—everything is sacrificed for speed.

Even if it tears your soul apart, it will not stop.

Just from its design alone, anyone can tell:

this is an apex predator of the racetrack.

Its name matches its aura perfectly.

Mia was shocked and delighted when she saw the car.

She had assumed Leon came unprepared, and she'd been worried about him.

But now she realized—she had overthought it.

Leon had already arranged everything in advance.

"How many modes does this car have?" Mia asked.

"Four modes," Leon answered.

"Casual Mode, Race Mode, Sprint Mode, and Tyrant Mode."

Casual Mode was basically the "sports car" form.

No different from an ordinary high-end supercar—two seats, comfortable, easy to handle.

It wouldn't tear your soul apart.

The top speed in this mode was limited to 500 km/h.

Race Mode, however, was completely different.

Its entire aura changed.

The wheel fairings folded away, revealing slick racing tires.

The chassis dropped low to the ground to reduce drag.

A thin aerodynamic plate extended at the front—the spoiler.

With the spoiler installed, incoming air from high speeds was forced upward,

reducing lift,

redirecting airflow across the roof,

and increasing tire downforce and stability.

This mode still allowed two seats.

Top speed: 1,000 km/h.

Slightly below Diomas's dual-engine mode—but it crushed all single-engine cars entirely.

It also equipped two massive jet fans, similar to ASURADA's twin turbines.

They could blow the car upward—

not enough to actually fly, but enough for momentary lift.

Sprint Mode activated all boosters.

The car automatically reshaped itself for pure acceleration—

retracting the spoiler, altering aero geometry and internal layout

to maximize straight-line thrust while increasing downforce.

It had two booster groups, four engines total:

two at the rear, two on the sides.

They activated progressively—

first the rear pair,

and if that wasn't enough, you could then trigger the side boosters.

But you could never trigger the side boosters first;

airflow would destabilize the entire car.

This was the mode purely for straight-line acceleration.

Only the driver's seat remained active;

if someone was in the passenger seat, Sprint Mode could not engage.

Finally—

Tyrant Mode.

The most terrifying form.

The mode that shredded both body and soul.

Tyrant Mode combined all the strengths of Race Mode—but removed the 1,000 km/h limit.

It also applied the full acceleration of Sprint Mode.

It would push speed until your very soul exploded.

This mode cared nothing for the driver's safety.

It cared for one thing only—

Speed.

As long as the chassis held, as long as the tires didn't burst,

The Tyrant would keep accelerating.

Your strength determined its strength.

If you could endure more—

The Tyrant would go faster.

That was its nature.

Seats? One or two—didn't matter.

If you died inside, it wasn't the car's problem.

No machine was more brutal.

Just like the ancient tyrant Xia Jie—

nothing was more ruthless.

Mia was entranced—especially hearing about Tyrant Mode.

Her anticipation for this car soared.

"So… what's the top speed in Tyrant Mode?" she asked.

"There is no top speed."

"Huh—?"

Mia gasped, then quickly covered her mouth.

Leon stared at The Tyrant with burning eyes.

"As long as your body can withstand it, and the tires and engine don't blow…

it will keep accelerating indefinitely.

There is no upper limit."

That was what made The Tyrant so horrifying.

No speed cap.

No restraint.

Just your body versus raw physics.

"A maximum acceleration without a limit…

but it does have a minimum speed," Leon added, excited.

"How much?" Mia braced herself.

"1,000 km/h."

"WHAT—?! A thousand kilometers?!"

Mia screamed, eyes wide with terror.

A top speed of 1,000 in Race Mode was already insane—

yet that was only The Tyrant Mode's minimum.

Once fully activated, what would its real speed be…?

In her mind, Mia imagined the blue-black Tyrant raging down the track,

moving so fast even its shadow couldn't be seen,

tearing up the air,

splitting the wind,

consuming the entire racetrack.

Just thinking about it pumped adrenaline through her body.

This car would make history.

The Tyrant would shock the entire world.

"How long can the tires hold?" Mia mumbled, trembling.

"Two minutes," Leon replied. "At most.

After that, either the engine burns out or the tires explode."

That was the limitation.

Formula cars had strict engine regulations—

they couldn't over-modify to perfectly handle Tyrant Mode.

The speed simply pushed everything far beyond normal limits.

Two minutes was already amazing.

A normal engine would last only seconds before exploding.

So Tyrant Mode was a trump card—

a last-resort secret weapon.

Once used, it would guarantee first place.

But exposing it early would let others prepare countermeasures.

Leon wasn't stupid.

"Let's go. Time to test the new car."

Leon unlocked The Tyrant.

The two climbed in.

As expected, everything was sacrificed for speed.

The interior was bare bones.

Just a steering wheel—nothing else.

No speakers, no infotainment screen, not even a gear stick.

If The Tyrant weren't powerful enough, it wouldn't even have a battery.

True F1 cars didn't carry batteries—they started using external power.

If an F1 car stalled mid-race, it was forced to retire.

Only something like The Tyrant—this hyper-advanced formula machine—could carry a battery without sacrificing performance.

"Why does your steering wheel have so many buttons?" Mia blinked.

It was her first time seeing a Formula-style wheel.

It looked nothing like a normal car's.
