Chapter 42 - Everyone VS David

"Fight back! Aren't you a god! Do something." David was having a blast, fully enjoying this moment, much to Darkseid's ever-growing rage and pain. With every kick David delivered, he was adapting, adjusting his technique to ensure Darkseid felt the absolute most pain possible from each individual kick.

David wasn't stopping, wasn't slowing down for even a second. Hell, if Darkseid dared not regrow his balls and dick after they were destroyed, David would have his curse energy and willpower form a sharp spike at the tip of his foot, which he would then aim directly towards the hole where Darkseid's balls used to be.

David even had the audacity to tell him to fight back, to mock him while beating him down like this… how could Darkseid not get angry at this treatment? How could he not feel humiliated? Instantly, in Darkseid's mind, Batman fell from his position as top-most hated person, tumbling down the ranks, and David took the number one spot without question. Across the whole multiverse, spanning infinite realities and dimensions, David became the one person he hated above all others, the focus of all his fury.

Suddenly, David crossed his hands defensively in front of himself, sensing something coming. But he wasn't fast enough because of his exhaustion. One of the Lords of Chaos appeared out of nowhere, blasting him away with raw magical force.

David was sent rocketing away, his body shooting through countless planets like a bullet, the impacts leaving him badly injured with broken bones and torn flesh. But his injuries quickly recovered and healed as he landed hard on a distant moon, just for Darkseid, his entire body burning with uncontrollable anger, to appear directly above him. Darkseid brought his whole flaming body down upon David, wanting nothing more than to crush him into paste.

The moon exploded from the impact, shattering into countless fragments. While the debris scattered, David appeared a few miles away from the destruction, breathing heavily and raggedly while looking forward at the blonde-haired woman floating before him.

This was odd and didn't make sense, since the Lords of Chaos he'd fought before looked like kids, children in appearance, so why did this one look like a fully grown woman?

"Don't tell me…" David's face went completely blank, his expression dropping as he looked back towards Earth. All of Earth's heroes watching through the magical screen went awkward and uncomfortable as David looked towards where the Lords of Chaos should have been guarded… but Child, that being the Lord of Chaos that had secretly moved without anyone noticing, had stolen all of their powers, had killed them all, leaving only one Lord of Chaos remaining in this entire universe.

David didn't even get a chance to process this information or think about the implications as his body moved on instinct, avoiding another higher-dimensional being who made herself known by attacking.

That being was Allura, returned for revenge and to take his powers… but David was too slow to react in his weakened state. The attack connected, leading to him being sent rocketing away through space once more. A huge massive hand made out of green willpower materialized and moved to capture him mid-flight, but David used Blue at the last second, pulling himself out of the way of the hand's grasp.

He looked around and saw the Green Lantern Corps gathered in formation, thousands of them floating in space. Before he could even think about what that meant or formulate a plan, an orange blast hit him hard in the back, the energy punching through and creating a gaping hole in his chest. He turned his head and saw the Orange Lantern Corps had arrived as well, driven by their greed… he was surrounded on all sides.

Darkseid hovered in one direction, his body still burning with rage. Allura floated in another, her eyes cold with the desire for his body. Child positioned herself nearby, radiating chaotic energy. The Green Lantern Corps formed a wall of willpower. The Orange Lanterns clustered together, glowing with avarice.

The Yellow Lanterns spread out, feeding on fear. The Red Lanterns gathered as well, burning with fury… and there were even more forces joining in. Even Brainiac wanted a piece of the cake. Long with another god, the God of War himself, Ares,

One truly didn't need to be a genius to understand why all of these people had gathered here. They all saw David's physique, his body's unique capabilities, as something they desperately wanted to study and unlock.

If David could use Willpower alone, that wouldn't be that special or noteworthy in the grand scheme of things. But for his body to allow him to tap into the emotional spectrum without any external aid meant that David's potential was genuinely infinite, boundless in a way that terrified and excited them.

In the past, there had been Green Lanterns with so much concentrated willpower that they could recreate entire universes and perform similar reality-bending feats. But that kind of power needed a Lantern ring to channel it, which was a massive limitation that constrained what they could do.

But David didn't have such a thing, didn't need any external tool or focus. He was more unique than even those Lanterns who had managed to collect and wear all the lantern rings in the spectrum at once. Why? Because he could fuse the power from the emotional spectrum together, birthing a never-before-seen power that shouldn't exist.

If they managed to get their hands on this ability, on the secret of how David's body worked, then forget ruling just the universe. The whole multiverse, and even the 4th dimension that existed beyond normal comprehension, would be within their reach.

[Nutcracker] Where are the other heroes? Why are they not helping?

[VoidWizard101] And what would they do? They would only get in the way. At the looks of things, we are about to see the death of a legend.

[Sarah The Pancake] By time, this villain is gone. Piece of shit should have died long ago.

[Your Momma] The guy above is an idiot, or what? So many people saw it as worth it to unite to defeat David, all because he is in a weakened state.

[Emperor Of the 9 Heavens] I foresee dark times ahead, without David to keep the evil in the world in check, I'm sure it would spread outwards like a storm,

[Nutcracker] Stop talking like he is going to die. David got this

"Wow, I'm so popular…" David said softly, his voice barely carrying across the void. But with the tone in his voice, the way the words came out heavy and resigned, everyone watching was hit with the sinking feeling that even David knew the truth… he might not survive this. Of course, that realization wasn't enough to make him give up or surrender.

"Where is all that energy form before?" Darkseid couldn't let the moment pass by without commenting. He wasn't expecting so many different people and factions to make their move at the same time. But it made sense when you thought about it strategically. The Speed Force was incredibly powerful, yes, but a Green Lantern, with a strong enough willpower backing them, could do just about anything the Flash could do… and potentially even more than that.

"Well, against you I can be careless, but against them, well, I have to get serious. You have to understand, you're nothing." David said with a casual shrug, although there was no smirk on his face this time, and his entire body was on full alert, ready to move.

Darkseid's eyes narrowed at the insult, the dismissal cutting deep. But honestly, beneath the anger, he was genuinely shocked that anyone in a single universe could be this powerful and still growing. Why was he shocked? Simple—David was growing stronger with each passing moment. He was improving and refining the Limitless technique as he fought, adapting in real-time.

"I'm nice, so I will give you all a chance by doing this," David said, his hand reaching up to cover his eyes with a blindfold.

Instantly, the battle started in earnest, and everyone charged at David from all sides, attacks coming from every direction at once. But at the last second before he could be hit by even a single attack, David clapped his hands together, switching places with Darkseid. Darkseid suddenly found himself in David's former position, instantly getting hit with a devastating sea of attacks from all the assembled forces.

Everyone was shocked by the reversal, their attacks hitting their supposed ally. They could only look up into the sky where a massive Blue orb had appeared, so passive and yet so powerful that reality itself bent and warped around it, space and time being drawn towards it like water circling a drain. Standing above it, David prepared his next move.

All of the Lanterns, the higher-dimensional beings, and all the other forces quickly united their powers to defend against this threat. But lightning suddenly appeared and crackled in the void of space, striking down at David. He barely dodged to the side at the last instant, making the lightning bolt take off his hand instead of hitting his body directly.

"He belongs to Olympus," Zeus declared with a confident grin, appearing dramatically with the full forces of Olympus backing him. Of course, they wanted David for themselves, wanted to claim him as their prize.

But more gods made themselves known as well, not wanting to be left out. Odin appeared with the mighty forces of Asgard at his back. Even Demons from Hell saw their chance and joined in, recognizing this as an opportunity to gain power that would finally allow them to invade Heaven itself.

What did David do in response to all of this escalation? He moved, teleporting himself even further away from the Milky Way Galaxy, putting more distance between himself and everything he cared about.

He went on to create an even stronger Blue construct, one so incredibly powerful that even Galaxies that were millions of light-years away were being drawn towards it at speeds faster than light itself.

Earth… no, not just Earth. Everyone in this universe, and even beings from across the vast multiverse, felt the ripples of the battle spreading out like shockwaves. Even 4th-dimensional and higher existences were looking down at the battle taking place in what they considered a small, insignificant universe.

More and more people kept joining the battle as word spread, all wanting a piece of the cake, wanting their share of what David represented. Who didn't want more power when it was dangling right in front of them?

But things got so chaotic and out of hand that the Lantern Corps began to shift their priorities. They went from trying to capture or kill David, to actually trying to help David defend against these higher-dimensional beings who didn't care at all if this universe died or was destroyed in the battle. The conflict was growing greater and greater in scale as the battle went on, consuming more space and drawing in more combatants.

But to everyone's confusion and concern, David didn't accept the Lanterns' help or acknowledge their change in stance. His body was moving on autopilot, attacking anyone and everything that came near without discrimination.

"He isn't controlling his body anymore. He let it run on auto, otherwise he wouldn't be able to ignore his body's cries for rest… while he escaped into his mind." Batman said carefully, seeing through what was happening with his detective's insight.

This revelation stunned everyone watching from Earth. Wasting no time, Doctor Fate had the magical cameras shift their focus to see through it all, to look into David's mind instead of just his body. There they saw David's consciousness, walking slowly towards the movie theater where his daughter had died.
