Chapter 20 - Free day, fun day

"Hinaaaa." Ayame called me in a lazy tone while lying down in bed, her head dropping down from the edge making it upside down.

"What?" I asked.

"I'm bored."

"What should I do about it?"

"Entertain me."

"No."

Ayame huffed at my refusal. She has woken up a few hours ago and was pretty bored after she told me everything that had happened in her first mission.

Honestly saying, hers and mine were absolutely the opposite. The chaos level is so different that you can't even talk about it.

Reporting was the easiest part but it's also tiring after all that. Rebecca was yawning the whole time when we were reporting our mission to Miss Lucy.

Knock.

A knock came at our room, making both mine and Ayame's head jerked up immediately.

"Were you expecting someone, Ay?" I asked.

Ayame shook her head no. "It's probably the same for you so, who's opening it?" She asked.

I sighed as I stood up. I was closer to the door either way. I looked at door for a few seconds before opening it.

"Hiii!" "Hello." 2 voices. A cheerful one and a normal one. A female and a male.

I looked back at Ayame and she looked at me. Both of us sharing the same thoughts. 'What the fuck.'

I looked back at the 2 people who were none other than Rebecca and Evian.

"What do you both want?" I asked; my voice deadpanned like I didn't want to see them.

"We wanted to hang out!" "We wanted to hang out…" Both Rebecca and Evian said it at the same time, the same word and a different tone. Another thing was that they ignored my tone which they probably didn't mind

I stepped aside so they both can enter.

Ayame sat up on her bed as Evian and Rebecca entered. "Sooo, why did you both want to hang out?" She asked them.

I knew they wanted to hang out and there's no reason to it as well but just in case they had a reason, I listened as I closed the door shut. (Weird habits).

"No reason at all." Evian answered. Aww man, I wanted an actual reason for an odd reason I didn't know what that reason even was.

"Since you both are here. Any ideas on games?" I said. Me and Ayame were bored so they must have a game, if not, boredom will be the death of me.

I am already dead. Boredom will be the death of my soul. Yeah, that sounds right in a way.

Rebecca beamed at that question. "Sooo, I wanted to try this game I saw somewhere on a website."

"Website?" 3 voices said that word. Those 3 voices belonging to me, Ayame and Evian.

"Yes, a website. First of all…" Rebecca's eyes scanned the room before it landed on the table. "Come here." She called us three and we simply followed her, surrounding the table.

"The game rules are simple." Rebecca placed both her hands in the table. "We slam our hands lightly or tap a bit harder than a tap in the table in a pattern, clock wise or anti clock-wise, didn't matter. "She tapped her one of her hands on the table twice. "This means changing the pace. If it's going clock wise, you have to go back." She tapped her left hands and then the right but instead of doing it once, she did it twice and the left hand tapped once again indicating that its now going the opposite direction or backwards. She then made her left hand into a fist and slammed it lightly on the table. "This one means that you will skip the other hand. If my left hand did this, I need to skip my right hands. It will directly be the person after me." Rebecca looked at us. "Since I explained and demonstrated it. Let's play it!"

It sounded fun because it is fun. We all placed our hands in the table and the game begun.

I got out first.

Evian got out.

Then Ayame did.

Rebecca won.

We played the game for a sometime before we got bored or tired, not sure which one.

"That was fun." Evian commented.

"Of course it was!" Ayame said.

"Mhm. Oh yeah, Hina, Ally got a haircut and it's so nice! I think you should try some hairstyle on her." Rebecca said.

"Ally got a haircut? I sure am doing her hair." I grabbed Rebecca's hands and dragged her out.

Ally was a girl 3 years younger than me and we were friends. She lives in the organization like our mentors or Evian. She has long chocolate brown hair that is utterly the most lavish hair I have laid my eyes on, black eyes and pale skin, she's quite tall for her age as well.

While Hina and Rebecca were focused on one goal of seeing Ally, which was actually Hina here rather than Rebecca which is also odd because it's usually Rebecca doing that.

"That was something." Evian commented.

Ayame chuckled at that. "It sure is. It's rare to see Hina this invested but it's also fun. I can tease her later on."

"You sure can." Evian replied. "Also, I have been wanting to ask this question."

Ayame titled her head slightly as she looked at Evain. "Sure? Tell me."

"How did you feel when you found out about the deal?"

"Deal? Oh, that one. I felt shocked and sad and angry at that fact at the beginning. This place is also odd. I expected some scary assassin organization that would make me learn the art of murder or some shit." Ayame giggled at how different her expectations and reality were.

"We get that a lot but are you fine now?"

"Yeah, this place is the best! Of course I am fine."

"No, I meant, are you truly ok? You got betrayed by your parents even if your older sister would have died if the deal wasn't made. You possibly can't be fine despite knowing the reason."

"You're making no-."

"Have you healed?" Evian cut off Ayame.

"Yeah?"

"Are you sure it's not an illusion of healed when all you did was distract yourself off the problem?"

Ayame paused for a moment before nodding. "Yeah."

Evian narrowed his eyes, suspecting that she's lying. "You better be."

Ayame nodded.

The room was silent for some time. Both didn't speak. Ayame wondered one thing. Was she truly ok even if she told that she is? Were both her and Yuna ever ok to begin with? How many scars are left to heal? How many have been healed?

Creakkkk.

The door opened revealing a frowning Hina. It seemed that Rebecca wasn't there.

"Ally had went for her mission." Hina stated. "And what's with the mood in the room?"

"Nothing much." Ayame replied. "I wanted to ask…are you okay, like mentally?"

"What?" That question caught her off guard, it was odd to see Ayame like that, so… so not cheerful?

"Are you okay?" Ayame repeated the question.

"Yeah. Of course I am."

"Hope you're not lying…" Ayame said quietly that if Hina wasn't paying attention she wouldn't have been able to catch it.

"You know the answer already, Ay. I am going out with Rebecca; I'll bring food for you two."

"Burrito." Evian immediately replied.

"Uhh, also a burrito for me." Ayame answered.

"Got it, byeeee." Hina turned around and walked away, closing the door behind.

As much as I didn't want to acknowledge Ayame's words… it kept coming back in my head.

Am I okay? Are we okay? Have we even tried to heal?

Was I lying to Ayame back then or not?

The answer was clear to her.

She, herself has lied to others about it and she knows that I do the same.

The day we were killed… I was felt numb enough to not shed a tear while Yuki cried a waterfall.

We saw ourselves get buried.

We saw our 'Parents' clean all the evidence.

We should have cried instead we played… and played till we forgot such pain should exist even if it's for a moment.

We never tried to heal… we simply distracted ourselves.

Is it fate or the human mind?

Is it someone who made us that wanted us to suffer?

I wonder…

Will everything be right now or will all this happiness vanish again?
