"You!" He suddenly pointed at Kairo; Kairo pointed at himself as if to say, "Me?" This caused Vladmir to nod. "Yes, you! Pair with Noriega." Kairo's jaw nearly dropped, and Nyla immediately protested the idea of being taken away from her precious Arienne. "Sometimes," Vladimir started to drop wisdom, "You will not be able to work with who you want, and will you die because of your unwillingness?" It was a solidly correct philosophy.
"And move now." He said, and Kairo asked, "So should I move to her or—" Minutes later, the class was rearranged: ed Kairo with Nyla and Maris, Jalen with Arienne and Nova, the guy she shot down, an absolute beast of a guy and a much shorter dude. "I'm liking this arrangement… First, there will be no open hatred for your classmates and suck it up if you do." Maris looked annoyed that she was placed with that guy from earlier. He went through names: Kairo, Nova, Maris, Nyla, Arienne, Jalen, Dakota (the guy Maris shot down), Sabir (the muscular phenom), Lambert (the shorter guy).
"Groups of three, alright, we will go through a small icebreaker… Who inspired you to come here?" Valdmir pointed at Sabir. "You. Start us off." The big fella stood up. "I inspired myself!" Maris instantly looked annoyed. "You can't say yourself—" Valdmir cut Maris off. "To an extent, yes, he can; however, I will get to it later." Maris rolled her eyes as Sabir grinned triumphantly. "Dak. Your answer." He thought about it for a split second. "I was inspired by the greatest to ever do it, Frankie Hartenstein. I mean multiple-time agent of the year, All-Elite, multiple summer game cups—"
He was cut off by Vladimir, "Yet no one called him a hero; he made it to the Hall of Heroes, and he killed every threat ever, but no one said, 'Hartenstein saved my life' You see what I'm saying? Lambert!" Lambert rose. "I was saved by a recruit when I was in the woods; a demon tried to kill my family, and he killed it… I want to be someone people remember." Vladmir nodded. It was a fair answer. Then he pointed to Kairo. "Lucan Ronan…" The whole class turned to him. "Why?" Vladmir simply asked.
"He was the only person who gave me a chance to be here. He is the reason I am here, and I am grateful for that." Vladmir nodded as Maris didn't look annoyed but rather thought this might be a fun class after all.
