Morning news was abuzz. For two weeks, there had been these strange brutal incidents. There were attacks from some kind of wild animal: bodies were found with deep marks of claw and biting, strange healings without suspects. And the story of Detective Han So-Ra topped headlines-the cop who was bitten, injured, and miraculously recovered-puzzling the public.
Jace & Vasco React
Jace and Vasco watched each other from across the cafeteria at school.
Vasco: (whispering) "I can't get last night out of my head. Those… things. The wolves. The fight. That wasn't human. There's no way."
Jace: (crossing his arms, frowning) "I still don't buy it. Wolves… humanoid wolves? That's fiction. It's too ridiculous."
Vasco: "Then why did it look exactly like Marcus fighting as a beast? He saved us. And the scratches. no human could make them. Not in seconds."
Jace: "(sighs) "I'll believe it when I see undeniable proof. Humans don't transform. End of story."
But Vasco couldn't shake the image of Marcus, slashing and biting, moving faster than the eye could follow. Something was different about him. Something inhuman.
Afternoon: The Park
After school, Marcus made his way to the park. The late afternoon sun cast long shadows through the trees; the air was tense and quiet.
Logan emerged from behind a copse, his scowl in place but tension in the way he stood. The blue in his eyes was sharp, calculating, no longer his beta wolf hue but aware.
Logan: ((snarling)) "You… punk. You think you can control me?"
Marcus halted in the center of the clearing, hands to his sides, eyes aglow faintly red, his chest heaving.
Marcus: "Sit."
Logan froze mid-step. His muscles twitched but his legs obeyed. Slowly, almost painfully, he sank to his knees.
Logan: ((clenching his teeth) "I… I won't—"
Marcus: Voice calm, firm, "You will. You're mine, Logan. Accept it. You're Beta. And I'm Alpha."
A tense, silent moment stretched between them as Logan's pride fought him, screaming to lash out, to bite, to resist. But he felt it-the pull. Marcus didn't just speak. He commanded. And Logan's body obeyed.
Logan: (muttering begrudgingly) "…fine. You… you win, punk."
Marcus's eyes, bright red, flared as he stepped one step closer.
Marcus: "Two rules. First, no killing. Second, no turning anyone without my permission. You break them, and you'll regret it."
Logan's jaw clenched, rage still simmering beneath the surface. But deep down, he knew that he had little choice. He lowered his head, bowing slightly.
Logan: "…I understand."
Marcus exhaled slowly. He didn't smile-he didn't need to. His dominance had been established.
The Female Cop
Elsewhere, Detective Han So-Ra sat at her apartment, her wound having completely healed, leaving only a very light scar on her shoulder. She reached up and absently touched it, still unsettled by the bite and her sudden surge of energy over the last few days.
So-Ra (thinking): "I shouldn't feel… this strong. This fast. My reflexes… my senses. Everything's sharper."
She shook her head, attempting to disregard the new hunger that lingered at the back of her mind. But she couldn't. The bite had changed her—though for now, she didn't know how much.
Marcus Walks Away
Marcus turned his back on Logan and started walking through the park. His mind was racing with the possibilities now open to him. Logan had submitted, but the boy still had to train, to understand the full extent of his own powers before the next full moon.
Marcus: "He's strong, fast… defiant. But he's mine now. And if he breaks the rules… I'll make sure he regrets it." Logan followed silently, the tension in every step barely concealed. He was still Logan Lee—the same hateful, violent man—but now bound to Marcus in ways he didn't fully understand. The air was taut, silent… and the world had just shifted.
