Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

Guidance

The night air was quiet, the streets almost deserted. Logan walked beside the Detective Han So-Ra, still trying to process these strange sensations in her body and her glowing blue eyes.

So-Ra: "I—I don't understand. What's happening to me? My eyes… the way I feel…"

Logan's jaw tensed. His partial transformation made him look more intimidating, but he softened his tone slightly, trying to calm her.

Logan: "You're… a beta. You got bitten, remember? you're a werewolf, and you're part of this now. You're not fully in control yet, but it's happening. You're becoming one of us."

So-Ra's eyes widened in a mix of shock and fear.

So-Ra: "A… werewolf? I'm… what? This isn't real."

Logan: (growling lowly) "I didn't ask for it either, but it's real. And you're not safe alone. I can help you… guide you. There's someone who can teach you control—someone you can trust."

So-Ra hesitated, caught up by conflicting emotions.

So-Ra: "I don't know if I can… I can't just tell the precinct what's happening. They'll think I'm crazy!"

Logan crouched slightly, getting closer so she could feel the weight of his presence. His growl vibrated low in his chest.

Logan: "You will tell them the crime is handled. No arguments. Or it won't end well for you. You're not just a cop anymore-you're part of something bigger, and right now your survival depends on doing as I say."

She swallowed hard, fear mixing with the strange pull she felt from him.

So-Ra: "…Okay. Okay, fine. I'll tell them."

Driving to Marcus's House

Logan stayed beside her as she drove. Even though she had the wheel, he directed, his partial transformation giving him an unnerving precision.

Logan: "Turn here. Take the next left. Slow down at the stop sign. Good. Don't make any sudden moves. We're close."

So-Ra's hands were trembling slightly on the wheel.

So-Ra: "How do you know where…?"

Logan: "Marcus gave me the address a while back. Trust me. This is the safest place you can find right now."

Arrival

When they arrived at the house, Marcus's mother answered the door, looking surprised as she blinked at the sight of Logan first, then the Detective.

Marcus' Mom: "Can I help you? And… who are you?"

Logan stepped forward, his voice calm but firm.

Logan: "I'm a friend of Marcus'. I came by because he asked me to check on something—and we brought someone who has questions for him."

So-Ra, showing her badge, stepped slightly forward.

So-Ra: "Detective Han So-Ra. I have a few questions for your son regarding the animal attacks that happened at his school.

The expression upon Marcus's mom's face changed from confusion to cautious trust.

Marcus's Mom: "Alright… I don't know who you are, Detective, but I trust Marcus has told you the truth.

So-Ra: (nodding) "Yes. Thank you. I just need a few minutes."

Logan shifted to the side, still watchful as So-Ra entered the house, the weight of the night bearing down upon them both. Meanwhile, Marcus was asleep upstairs, oblivious to the fact that the two most important people in his life right now had reached his house.
