"So, she really thinks I'm the monster, huh?" Xavier asked, walking beside Ash, who was having his way with his ice cream.

"Yeah, man," Ash replied, taking another bite. "You gotta stop drawing that shit… if you don't, she'll catch you."

"I'm not the monster," Xavier shot back, causing Ash to shake his head, mouth still licking away.

"Trust me, I know," Ash said. "The problem is her." He paused, taking a seat on one chair near the bus stop, leaning backward as Xavier sat opposite him.

"So, you're going to the dance?" Xavier suddenly asked, and Ash just shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't know, man. I literally only found out about this dance 'thing' yesterday." Ash sighed, finishing the ice cream, then biting the cone. "You?"

Xavier nodded in response to his question.

"Heard someone's planning on spiking the drinks," Xavier giggled to himself. "So yeah, I'll go."

But unknowingly, Ash's eyes sparkled with interest as he heard Xavier's first words.

Xavier turned to him, immediately noting what was going through Ash's mind; he had stayed with Ash for far too long not to notice it.

"So…" Xavier also leaned back as he spoke, slightly turning to Ash. "Who's the lucky girl?"

Ash instantly pulled out his phone, hesitation devoid.

His fingers scrolled, passing about a dozen contacts with little interest.

Xavier just shook his head, still in disbelief at the number of women who would willingly throw themselves at Ash each day, clearly knowing he only used them as entertainment.

Ash then sighed, switching off the phone and placing it back into his pocket.

"It seems even good looks have flaws," Xavier said, trying to be intelligent.

But the way his words were structured reminded Ash of someone, a person who, a couple of days ago, would've never crossed his mind, even to consider.

"You know what," Ash said with a smile, "I think I've got someone in mind."

{HOURS LATER}

"Listen, people like me and you are original thinkers," Wednesday said, arms folded and eyes completely piercing Eugene. "We are interpretive outliers in this vast cesspool of adolescence. We don't need these inanities of passage to validate who we are."

"—"

"Wait… so you're not going to the Rave'N either?" Eugene asked, clearly stunned by her sentence.

"Yes," Wednesday replied, not waiting for the seconds to linger.

"Then…"

DOO!

The Bee House's door burst open as Ash walked in, hands holding yellow plastic bags and expressions hinting at fading laughter.

"Sup, four eyes," Ash said, closing the door behind him and lightly giggling as he noted Eugene's displeasure. "Fuck, man, every time I come here, your bees always keep stinging me."

Eugene smiled at Ash's words, his mind finally confirming a theory that presetting territory protection on the bees actually worked.

"I hope you got something," Wednesday said bluntly, watching as Ash dropped the plastics he had used to deflect the stings from some bees as he entered.

Ash just smiled, pulling out a page from his pocket, then sticking it on the whiteboard that was standing near them.

Wednesday frowned as she turned to its content.

"So, you know how Xavier is a psychic… right?" He tried to speak.

"You're saying Xavier drew this?" she cut in, voice moving like a knife.

"Wait," Ash said, raising his arms in defense. "Hear me out… look, Xavier's a psychic… and sometimes, not all the time, he tends to see visions." Ash folded his arms, staring at the painting confidently, but his eyes secretly drifted toward her. "And this is one of them…" he hesitated, "So, I asked him to draw it."

"You asked him to draw *it* or drew himself?" she questioned.

"Xavier is not Frankenstein," Ash said, sighing in frustration.

"Frankenstein?" Eugene asked from the far left, confusion fuming from his expression.

"That's the name he gave the monster," Wednesday said, now completely turning to Ash, who was staring away, somewhat acting oblivious to her gaze.

But her eyes persisted, her figure standing three feet away from him, looking upward at his resisting gaze.

"What?" Ash asked, finally turning to her, yet she didn't reply. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Umm… guys," Eugene suddenly whispered, causing both of them to turn to him. "I think I know where the monster is," he said, his eyes turned to the painting Xavier drew.

Breaking the questioning of an underrated detective, one whom Ash was beginning to overestimate.

---

{HOURS LATER}

"So… you guys really think it's there?" Eugene asked, staring at a cave that looked almost identical to the one drawn by Xavier.

"Nope," Ash cut in, watching Wednesday as she walked forward. "If he were there, I would definitely smell him. Frankenstein stinks." Ash raised his hand to Eugene's shoulder. "Stay here, four eyes," he said, following behind her, perhaps on a mission to ask the impossible.

"And don't snitch."
