Cherreads

Chapter 46 - Chapter 45 - Join my Crew!

The crew strayed through the streets of Water 7 in an attempt to locate the whereabouts of Iceburg or the shipwright's.

Galley-La Company came into sight whereas Jake and Gojo trailed behind Ryuken while gawking at the towering structure in view.

"Galley-La, huh? It's enormous!"

"I expected no less from the famous shipwrights in the world."

"I could feel the intense aura emanating from within. Anyways, let's lump inside."

Galley-La Company is a prominent company of shipwrights. The company, which has been established for seven years, built ships for citizens and pirates, as well as for the world Government. This company was led by Iceburg, the mayor of Water 7 and the elder apprentice of the legendary shipwright, Tom.

The towering door screamed and opened with a decent push as it revealed the fragrance of fresh woods being cut and nailed. Galley-La Company consisted of seven docks and each had its own set of workers and shipwrights.

Each dock can be entered through a towering door with its number on it, through which the shipyards can be reached precisely. They stepped inside the company with their jaws agape catching a better glimpse at the wonderful company and as well as the shipwrights at work.

A figure approached the trio with a cigarette engraved in his lips. "Let me guess, are you guys here to fix a ship?" He puffs out a smoke.

Jake stepped forward, hooking hands with the figure. "We're here to get a brand new vessel for our voyage."

The figure, Paulie, was the vice president of the administration of Galley-La Company. "Pirates?" He smirked, not withdrawing his gaze from Jake who'd a cigarette in his mouth also.

"Yes. We need a unique vessel in order to sail in the Grand Line waters." Jake let loose of his hands.

"Very well." Paulie said, "the cost of a new vessel would cost you 300 million belli."

"300 million?!" They exclaimed in unison, sharing a glare at each other. Jake stepped forward fizzling his hair. "We've got a marine vessel on the port. Could we sell it for some cash?"

Paulie hesitated for a second before defoliating his throat. "Fine. But first, I would love to take a look at the vessel."

"Sure. Let's take you there."

Paulie slid another cigarette strapped around his chest into his mouth. "About that, you don't have to worry about that. You guys could take your time exploring Water 7 while I'll have one of the Foremen scout it out."

"Really?"

"Yeah. You guys could come back during the day while we scout out the ship if it's okay to fix or to purchase."

"Thanks a lot, Paulie." Jake shook hands with him again before the trio turned to exit the Galley-La Company.

"Kaku!" Paulie exclaimed. "I'll have you scout out the marine vessel ducked at the shore if it has any problems."

Kaku, a tall figure with a long square-ish nose, yellow hair and big round black eyes lumped forward. "I'll have that secured right away." Kaku dismissed himself with a smirk, menacing the cap he'd worn to shroud his face.

Gojo tilted his head and shot a glimpse at the figure he'd seen earlier. "He looks suspicious." Gojo whispered to himself. A wide smile creeped on his face. "You guys go on without me, I'll take a stroll."

"Huh?"

Alas, Gojo's figure faded into thin air before Ryuken and Jake could stop him. "I hope that fool doesn't cause us troubles."

"Perhaps knowing him, he'd be alright on his own. Let's keep going."

"Okay."

Straying alongside the road, Jake mistakenly bumped into a tall man wearing a black hat who strode past them with his hands tucked inside his pockets. The man was slim, not muscular, he had arched eyebrows and a close-shaved goatee. A white dove was located on his shoulders wearing a black suit tie around its neck.

"Sorry mister." Jake apologized to the man who continued straying away from them into the Galley-La Company.

Lucci, an agent of the World Government known as CP9. This organization was reputed as assassins who worked in secret and also operating undercover to obtain the Pluton blueprints from Iceburg.

The Pluton was desired by the World Government since it was said to be an ancient weapon which could abolish an island.

In order to acquire these blueprints, Lucci and his crew disguise themselves while working under Iceburg as a sawyer, treenail, and a bolt specialist for the Galley-La Company's Dock 1 in Water 7.

Yet, Lucci strode past the Blue-Eyed pirates with a smirk, wondering the whereabouts of their captain. Lucci was curious to meet Satoru Gojo, the man who'd wreaked havoc in Impel Down before sailing into the Grand Line.

Earlier, after the incident occurred in Impel Down, Lucci received a dire call from Sengoku. Sengoku, who'd received orders from the Elders in Mary Geoise relayed the message to Lucci and identified the Blue Eyed pirates would definitely mostly sail to Water 7 to secure a new vessel.

Without any hesitation, Lucci understood the hidden message behind the information Sengoku had just revealed to him. Lucci made sure the mission was flawless while also disguising himself in order to acquire the Pluton blueprints.

"Don't worry about it." Lucci waves at the duo behind him, surging his way into the Galley-La Company.

"Is he a shipwright? Holy shit! He looks so handsome."

"Huh? What the fuck?!"

Swoosh!

Kaku leaped through buildings as he swayed his way to the shore where the pirate's vessel was docked. "Are those scumbags really strong?" Kaku whispered to himself, descending from the sky.

He landed on the surface with a flip, picking himself up, he strayed towards the marine vessel. "How'd they steal this vessel from the marines?"

"Curious?" A voice broke out from Kaku's rear, evoking him hopping backwards safekeeping his distance.

'How the hell wasn't I able to feel his presence until now?' He questioned himself. "Heh, look who we have here. Gojo Satoru, the man who wrecked chaos in Impel Down." Sweat slid down Kaku's brows.

"Am I that famous?" He chuckled to himself, extracting a digusting look from his opp, Kaku. "Nice to meet you," Gojo smiled, "hey, do you certainly think I'll be able to acquire a strong vessel?"

Kaku smiled, "I'm certain you'll do. First, I'll have to scout out the vessel and see if it's worth purchasing."

Kaku leaped upward and thumped onto the deck, reverting a gentle creek from the wood. "Pardon me, I'll take a look around."

"Feel free. By the way shipwright-san, how much would a new vessel cost me?" Gojo trailed behind Kaku as he observed the ship.

A minute of suspense and silence..

"We'll purchase the ship." Kaku massaged his temples.

"Really?"

"Yeah. Since you guys want a new vessel, you'll pay up to 250 million alongside this ship."

Gojo's jaw dropped simultaneously, auditoring the cost of obtaining a new vessel got him in a damped melancholy.

"Shipwright-san, why don't you join my crew? It'll be fun and you'll be our shipwright who gets to counsel the ship and also be part of the future Kings of the Pirates crew." Gojo outstretched both hands positively, his smile never fading from his lips.

Kaku shot Gojo a serious gaze before bursting into laughter. "Thanks for the offer," Kaku wiped the tears off his eyes, "currently, I'm not interested in being a pirate. I have a job and I love it."

"That's disappointing," he let out an exasperated sigh regardless, "I thought I'd recruit a shipwright already. You have a life to live so I won't force you."

Gojo lunged downward from the deck with his hands tucked inside his pockets. "I'll be on my way. It's nice meeting you." He dismissed himself with a wave while Kaku gritted his teeth in frustration.

Despite being a master of the Rokushiki (Six powers) techniques, Kaku affirmed he could've dealt with Gojo on the ship instantly without transitory through the act of recruiting him as part of the Warlords of the Sea.

Given the mastery and prowess of the members of CP9 to be endowed with, their devil fruit powers and awakening meant oblivion to the Six Eyes.

Kaku let out a sigh. "There he goes."

Nighttime drew faster, the sky became cloudy before it started pouring out droplets of rain until it became chunky.

Jake and Ryuken sat inside a well lit restaurant which buzzed with lots of people and chatter. The duo savoured a nice curry rice whereas they haven't heard from their captain since his departure.

"Do you think those shipwrights are talented or skillful?"

"Huh? Where the hell did that come from?"

With a faint chuckle escaping his lips, Ryuken sipped his liquor, extracting himself from the wooden chair he'd sat on while hovering himself to the gamblers on the nearby table.

"What is he planning to do now?" Jake lit up his cigarette. Glancing at the Log Pose strapped around his left wrist. "How long is it going to reset to the next island?" He whispered to himself, slamming the wooden barrel on the table.
