Chapter 48 - Gangbuk Pt II

"So that's your plan, huh?" Sigyeong Ryu murmured, clearly astonished by God Dog's scheme.

As the future Number 10 of Gangbuk North and a spy in Gangbuk South for a time, Sigyeong was perceptive, and as soon as he heard Hope Park's plan for Gangbuk North, he quickly understood God Dog's plan.

At that moment, Sigyeong Ryu was amazed by Johan Seong's cunning and intelligence. He was the undisputed leader of all Gangbuk for a reason. "He's a terrifying person," he thought, "with a combination of intelligence and strength, Johan really is a fearsome guy."

"So, are you in?" Hope Park looked impatiently at Cheon Taeho and asked.

Cheon Taeho didn't look at Hope Park, he simply nodded, without taking his eyes off Ivan Park.

Taeho's gaze was filled with starlight and fanaticism. That expression made Ivan Park feel very uneasy.

"Well, with God Dog's strength and manpower, this should all be easy. Although they might have trouble with North Gangbuk High School," Sigyeong Ryu said seriously, immediately capturing everyone's attention. Even Taeho Cheon's fanatical gaze suddenly turned serious.

"Oh, and why do you think that?" Hope Park asked curiously.

Sigyeong Ryu took a cigarette from his bag, lit it, and took a deep drag before calmly replying,

"You see, there are two pretty strong guys at North Gangbuk High School. You could say they're the two undisputed leaders of all the high schools in North Gangbuk."

"Hmm, tell me more," Hope Park said, immediately interested. Even Ivan Park strained his ears, curious for the details.

"Fhew… their names are Sechan Kang and Daniel. The former is the leader, and Daniel is number two."

Hope Park rubbed his chin thoughtfully, without losing his focus.

"Is that right?"

Sigyeong Ryu nodded solemnly.

"Yes, I've heard they're quite strong. But knowing Johan Seong's reputation, they'll probably submit without a fight."

"Also, I've heard that the number one student at North Gangbuk High School is a strange sort. He prefers dialogue to fighting. So if you go and talk to him, he'll probably agree without much resistance."

"Hmmm, I see…" Hope Park replied thoughtfully. He didn't mind using Johan Seong's name to expedite the process of taking over the schools. After all, it's always useful to take advantage of available resources.

" And if that didn't work, he'd resort to force. The truth was, he honestly looked down on all the so-called "strong" people of North Gangbuk. He was certain that with his own strength, his brother's, and the other members of God Dog, they could take over the entire area in a single day.

"Alright, let's take all the remaining schools in the area first and leave North Gangbuk High School for last," he said after a few minutes of reflection, deciding to save the "main course" for the end.

"Oh, right," Hope Park glanced at Sigyeong Ryu, changing the subject, and asked, "Do you know a woman named Haru Seong?"

...

Sigyeong Ryu froze momentarily upon hearing the name Haru Seong. Something about that name sounded vaguely familiar.

He rubbed his chin, trying to remember where he'd heard that name before. After a moment of reflection, he suddenly burst into laughter, causing everyone to stare at him in surprise.

"Hahaha! I remember! I remember!"

Sigyeong Ryu wiped away a tear that threatened to spill from the corner of his eye and began to recount the story with enthusiasm.

"I'm not sure if calling her 'she' is the right thing to do..."

Hope Park frowned, not quite understanding what Sigyeong Ryu meant.

Seeing Hope's confused expression, Sigyeong Ryu continued, a slight smile on his face.

"You see, I often pass by North Gangbuk High School, and sometimes I've seen "this guy or this girl" named Haru Seong."

"What do you mean? Isn't it a girl? What the hell are you talking about?" "—asked Hope Park, now even more puzzled, not understanding what Sigyeong Ryu was getting at.

Sigyeong Ryu waved his hands, shaking his head, his face full of confusion.

"Honestly, I don't know. Even I'm a little confused about this."

...

"Stop beating around the bush and get to the point," Hope Park glared at Sigyeong Ryu fiercely, urging him to speak.

"Ugh, I really don't know!" Sigyeong Ryu scratched his head in frustration. "You see, Sechan Kang and Daniel, even though they're Number 1 and Number 2 in North Gangbuk, are always fighting despite being on the same side."

Sigyeong Ryu looked at Hope Park and said solemnly, "And it's all because of this person named Haru Seong. They both want his or her love."

"..."

"Damn, so two men are fighting over the love of one man?" Hope Park's face paled with fear and he stuttered as he put the pieces together.

The other members of God Dog were just as confused, even the usually silent Ivan Park wasn't doing any better.

"No, no, that's why I'm saying it's impossible to know if she's a man or a woman," Sigyeong Ryu replied. "You see, Haru Seong is beautiful. Her features are delicate, her hair is a bright reddish color, and her skin is as white as any Korean model's."

"But despite all this, Haru Seong always says she's not a woman, but on the other hand, Sechan Kang and Daniel fight over her. Whatever, screw it, I'm confused!"

"Too much of this crap is frying my brain. Let's forget it."

Seeing how Sigyeong Ryu's brain was frying due to the mystery of Haru Seong's true gender, Hope Park didn't want to ask any more questions, fearing he'd die from overthinking it.

Hope Park patted Sigyeong Ryu's shoulder and nodded. "Let's forget about that for now. Let's finish what I told you."

Upon hearing this, Sigyeong Ryu nodded and, along with the fanboy Cheon Taeho, followed Hope Park and Ivan Park.

East Gangbuk.

"Hey Mark Sa, this is too easy, way too easy," Scott Kwon said, effortlessly dodging the attacks of an unknown man.

His face was bored and he wore a mocking grin. Mark Sa, on the other hand, wasn't paying attention to the nonsense Scott Kwon was spouting; he was currently interrogating a minion along with other members of God Dog.

"You're saying the leader of this whole area is a guy named Jaeha Han?" Mark Sa asked, typing all the information about this so-called leader into his phone.

"Y-yes, I already told you everything I know. We'll join you, so they can stop hitting me," the man replied fearfully, looking at Mark Sa, a terrifying guy.

"Alright, so be it, welcome to God Dog," Mark Sa replied with a smile.

Taking East Gangbuk had been easier and quicker than taking North Gangbuk. With a smart guy like Mark Sa in charge of all the logistics, it was easy to do.

Only one place remained: East Gangbuk High School. There was an interesting guy there. Reading the profile he'd made of Jaeha Han, Mark Sa analyzed that this guy was undoubtedly the same as that kid Dominic Min—a ruthless guy who fought dirty and was trash to his subordinates.

With all this information, Mark Sa already knew how to deal with Jaeha Han.

Mark Sa looked up at the sky and murmured, "Ah, at this rate, we'll probably be the first ones finished."

Swoosh...

Scott Kwon landed an uppercut on the chin of the guy he was fighting, knocking him out completely.

 thud.

The guy's body fell unconscious, his eyes rolled back, his face contorted in despair.

"Pheeew, that was easy," Scott Kwon whispered, stretching his arms with a lazy expression.

"So, Mark Sa, what's next?" Scott Kwon asked, looking at Mark Sa.

Mark Sa grinned. "Let's finish taking over all the schools in the area and leave South Gangbuk High School for last. After that, it'll be much easier. You probably won't even have to fight, hahaha."

"What would be the point? It would be so boring if there were no more fights!"

"Fights, fights. Why fight when you can win without doing anything?" Mark Sa replied with a sneer.

...

Scott Kwon stared at Mark Sa, speechless.

Some time later.

A blond-haired, tanned man with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, a silver chain, and black earrings sat lazily in the back of East Gangbuk High School.

His gaze was lazy, staring blankly up at the sky.

Ding...

At that moment, his cell phone rang. Slowly and deliberately, he picked it up. Seeing the message, he frowned, his bored expression turning fierce.

"You bunch of stupid trash," he muttered, quickly replying to the message. He glanced at the minion beside him and gestured for it to follow.

The minions followed the man, trailing behind him in submissive postures, but their faces betrayed mockery and contempt.

"Jaeha Han, your days of anarchy are over," one of them thought.

Remembering the message one of his friends from another high school had sent him, he knew the end had come for Jaeha Han.

Jaeha Han, who felt something strange behind him, turned around but saw nothing. In the end, he continued on his way without looking back.

...

Jaeha Han had arrived at his usual meeting point, but looking around, he noticed something was wrong. At that moment, hundreds of people emerged from the abandoned buildings and surrounded Jaeha Han's group.

...

Seeing this, Jaeha Han knew he had fallen into a trap. "Who?" he thought as his gaze swept over those present. At that moment, when he saw the black hoodies printed with a dog biting a cross, his pupils narrowed.

"God Dog? Johan Seong? What the hell are they doing here? Weren't these guys supposed to dislike doing business in Gangbuk schools and only enjoy engaging in the "scam" business?"

Jaeha Han's mind was a mess, racing a mile a minute as he tried to understand why God Dog had come looking for him.

At that moment, when he wasn't paying attention, one of his subordinates stealthily approached him from behind. The man's face was dark and ferocious. Using the wooden stick he had brought with him, he viciously struck Jaeha Han on the head.

Bang...

The stick broke in two upon impact. Jaeha Han, who had been lost in thought, snapped out of his daze with the pain in his head. He immediately became furious and wanted to strike the man who had done that, but at that moment...

Bang...

Bang...

Bang...

The other members who had accompanied him rushed at him and, with equally hostile faces, slammed their sticks across Jaeha Han's head and body.

...

Scott Kwon, who had been watching this, looked at Mark Sa with a strange expression. "You're truly a ruthless and filthy man."

....

Mark Sa shrugged upon hearing Scott Kwon's words. "I told you that you wouldn't have to fight. It only took one push for this guy's subordinates to betray him. After all, they've been very dissatisfied with him for how he's been treating them."

.....

Scott Kwon scratched his head, unsure what to say. After the group of former subordinates unleashed their anger on Jaeha Han, Mark Sa and Scott Kwon approached.

Jaeha Han lifted his head from the ground and stared at them both, unconcerned by the blood trickling down his forehead.

"You're a tough guy. I would have liked to fight you," Scott Kwon finally said, breaking the silence.

"W-what's God Dog doing here?" Jaeha Han asked, his face fixed on Mark Sa.

"Well, we can go anywhere, after all, Gangbuk is ours," Mark Sa replied mockingly.

Hearing this, Jaeha Han wanted to retort, but remembering Johan, he said nothing. For everyone in Gangbuk, Johan was like a sword of Damocles hanging over their heads; they couldn't resist him.

Mark Sa looked at Jaeha Han and asked with a smile, "Will you join God Dog? Can we allow you to remain the leader of East Gangbuk High School? The only ones above you will be the two of us."

Jaeha Han weighed the pros and cons. After thinking for a few minutes, his face turned fierce, and he said reluctantly, "I will join you, but let me meet your leader."

Mark Sa and Scott Kwon exchanged glances, remembering that a meeting would be held after all the schools in Gangbuk were united. They accepted Jaeha Han's proposal.

"Alright, but you'll have to wait," Mark Sa replied, helping Jaeha Han to his feet.

The subordinates who had betrayed Jaeha Han never expected him to remain the leader of East Gangbuk High School.

They looked at each other, unsure what to do or say.

Jaeha Han glared at them with a terrifying, threatening smile. After recovering, he viciously attacked the men who had dared to betray him.

Mark Sa and Scott Kwon watched this but didn't intervene. Mark Sa didn't stop him because his objective had been achieved, and besides, a strong man similar to Dominic Min was more valuable than a bunch of low-level minions.

And as for Scott Kwon, well, let's just say he was more interested in Jaeha Han's abilities.
