It was a supercar they had never seen before.
The car stopped.
Its doors lifted upward.
Then Morin stepped out.
Beach shorts. Tank top. Slippers. Sunglasses.
Everyone froze.
Sure, his physique was outstanding. He was handsome. That much was undeniable.
But paired with this car?
It was completely wrong.
"What?" Morin said, taking off his sunglasses and looking around. "Why does everyone look so shocked?"
"Hahaha." Toretto was the only one who didn't react. Or rather, he was already used to it. He laughed and walked over, pulling Morin into a hug. "Morin, you really haven't changed at all."
"Why would I?" Morin shrugged casually. "I've never been to Rio's beaches before."
"Fair enough." Toretto nodded, then glanced at the car. "By the way... what car is this?"
Even Toretto felt tempted.
It was just too cool.
"I built it myself," Morin said with a grin. "Not for sale. One of a kind. What do you think?"
The exterior was based on the Mercedes-AMG VGT concept car-the kind that screamed I'm rich. The internals were, naturally, the best components Morin could get his hands on.
"It looks cool," Roman said. "But how does it drive?" Despite Toretto and O'Conner's looks, his curiosity got the better of him. "Bro, can you even drive?"
"Drive?" Morin answered calmly. "Of course not."
Roman blinked.
"This thing uses the latest AI autopilot. I just input the destination and relax."
"...That's terrible," Roman said, shaking his head. "That's a complete waste of a car-hey, O'Conner, why are you pulling me?"
"Stop talking," O'Conner muttered darkly. "Can't you tell he's messing with you?"
"Huh?" Roman looked at Morin. "Are you messing with me?"
"Of course not," Morin replied, smiling and nodding.
Roman: "..."
"I think he is messing with me," Roman said, turning to O'Conner.
"No doubt about it," O'Conner said, rubbing his forehead.
Morin lost interest in Roman.
"Mia. Long time no see."
"Long time no see, Morin," Mia said, smiling as she hugged him.
"So you're Han." Morin shook Han's hand. Then Tej's.
Then he reached the person he had actually come for.
Gisele.
Gal Gadot. Later known to the world as Wonder Woman.
Morin was a man with principles.
He had never committed to any woman.
Everything was mutual. Clear. Honest.
His stance had always been simple.
He would pass through the garden.
And pick the flowers.
Ahem.
Only the beautiful ones.
That was exactly why Toretto had been so protective of Mia in the past.
He knew Morin too well.
And he knew Mia wasn't the type of woman who could keep a man like him.
As for now-
Toretto trusted Morin.
Despite being unreliable at times. Despite being a blatant womanizer.
He kept his word.
Promises were promises.
Kindness was always repaid.
And there was one more rule.
If Morin went somewhere to modify or fix a car, there had to be either beautiful scenery-
Or a beautiful woman.
"Gisele," she said, extending her hand.
"Morin. Just Morin." He shook her hand and went straight to the point. "Want to go to the beach later?"
"...Huh?" Gisele was caught off guard.
"Wait." Toretto cut in immediately. "Let's finish the job first."
He wasn't worried Morin would fail.
He was worried Morin would succeed.
Too fast.
Gisele was part of the plan. He couldn't afford to lose her.
They were about to rob a local kingpin.
"Fine." Morin shrugged. "I'm not here to cause trouble."
Then he spotted O'Conner, who was hiding behind Roman.
Morin smiled kindly.
"Hey, O'Conner. Let me check if your punches got any stronger."
"Haha... long time no see, Morin..." O'Conner replied stiffly.
Years ago, when O'Conner was still undercover, he'd fallen for Mia.
At the time, Mia had feelings for Morin.
Morin had promised Toretto to treat her like a sister.
And he did.
As for O'Conner-
Love made people stupid.
Sometimes exponentially so.
He misunderstood Morin and Mia's relationship and challenged Morin to a fight.
Back then, Morin was only a Junior Auto Mechanic.
But his [Physical] and [Intelligence] stats were already at ten.
Almost brushing the human limit.
The result was obvious.
O'Conner was "educated."
Ever since then, O'Conner developed a mental block around Morin.
He had never seen someone that strong.
...That sounded weird.
"Alright." Toretto clapped his hands. "Enough. Let's focus."
"Dom, what's the plan?" Han asked, chewing on a snack.
"Yeah," Tej added. "Why drag us halfway across the world?"
"We've got a job," Toretto said, ignoring Morin, who was smiling at Gisele. "A big one."
"Our target is Hernan Reyes," O'Conner said, pointing at a map covered in red circles. Having finally recovered, he continued. "He controls the drug trade here. No records. No paper trail. He's protected by the local police and government."
"No records means cash," Gisele said.
"Exactly," O'Conner nodded. "His money is scattered all over the city."
"And we're taking it," Toretto said.
"All of it?" Tej asked.
"All of it," Toretto confirmed.
