"Calm down. Analyze slowly. Deduce based on what I already know."

Morin walked as he thought.

"First, the Templar Knight bloodline is said to be similar in function to the assassin bloodline. Let's test that."

With that thought, Morin activated the so-called Knight Bloodline.

The moment it activated, something extra appeared in his mind. At the same time, subtle changes spread through parts of his body, a faint but unmistakable enhancement.

When Morin followed the unfamiliar "memories" in his mind and guided those body parts, the effect became obvious. The boost was real.

"Vision. Hearing. Strength. Speed."

There were no visible changes, but the enhancement was undeniable.

The side effects that accompanied activation-faster heartbeat, increased blood flow-were all firmly under his control. For Morin, regulating his body like this was simple.

"Basically, it stimulates the human body through hormone secretion, pushing it into a physical state-and even beyond normal limits."

That was his conclusion.

"A special gene. An innate ability. The boost is small for me now, but what happens at higher levels?"

"Then there's stealth and backstabbing..."

Morin mentally reviewed the [Stealth Technique] and [Backstabbing Technique].

"Are they really just two techniques?"

That didn't feel right.

How did techniques level up?

Were there advanced versions?

Morin frowned, thought briefly, then put the issue aside. Guessing wouldn't help. He'd understand once he leveled up.

Right now, something else mattered more.

Making money.

More precisely-making money that counted as experience points.

Earning money itself wasn't hard for Morin. The problem was how to do it as a Templar Knight.

"Templar Knight..."

Morin stared at the profession panel, analyzing every word of the description. A vague idea formed. Not complete, but workable.

"I'll try everything."

He memorized a nearby street sign, waved down a taxi, and decided to handle necessities first.

"Sir, where to?" the driver asked.

"The nearest commercial street."

Morin sat in the back, opened the bag the system provided each time, and checked its contents.

"Ten thousand US dollars. ID... what's this?"

He pulled out a book, puzzled.

"Revelation."

Morin paused, then opened it. He had a feeling the answer he was looking for might be inside.

[The Templar Knights and the Fraternity of Assassins originated from the same ancestor, the same organization, before gradually splitting apart.]

[Their missions and characteristics diverged completely, even becoming opposing.]

[The Assassins are unruly and yearn for freedom. They believe in fate and the guidance it provides, upholding the philosophy of "killing one to save thousands."]

[The Templar Knights adhere to rules and maintain order. They believe humanity's destiny should be decided by humans themselves, not by a so-called Loom of Fate. They uphold human civilization and order, which inevitably led to conflict with the Assassins.]

[When the first Templar Knight elder appeared on the Fraternity of Assassins' Loom of Fate, the two sides entered a bloody struggle that has lasted thousands of years.]

...

Morin read quickly.

By the time the taxi reached the commercial street, he had finished the entire book.

He finally understood what the Templar Knight profession expected of him.

"But before that..."

Morin walked into a phone store.

"I need a phone first."

He didn't want to admit it, but even though he had two phones in storage, neither worked in this world. This wasn't just a SIM card issue.

After completing the paperwork, he bought a computer, hailed another taxi, returned to the intersection where he first appeared, and walked toward the alley.

There was almost a year before the official plot began.

But there were things he needed to do in advance.

For example-finding Wesley's father.

The top assassin known as The Cross.

Carlos.

Morin didn't know where Carlos was right now.

But he knew where Wesley lived.

He also knew Carlos had been watching his son the entire time, never daring to approach him, unwilling to drag Wesley into the assassin world.

In the end, it hadn't mattered.

Wesley still walked the assassin's path.

The worst part was how it happened. He was brought back to the Fraternity of Assassins by Fox-sent by the very organization Carlos betrayed-and trained into a new-generation assassin.

Then he was misled into believing Carlos had killed his father.

And Wesley killed him.

Only later did Wesley learn the truth.

After that, he went on a rampage and wiped out the entire Fraternity of Assassins.

Assassins go on a rampage. Knights use stealth. Mages swing big hammers. Warriors cast forbidden spells.

It was an old tradition.

Perfectly normal.

That was the original story.

Right now...

Wesley was still a miserable office worker, crushed by life.

Morin lingered nearby for a while, occasionally glancing toward Wesley's apartment, then left and checked into a hotel.

"I just need to repeat this a few more times..."

He opened his laptop, plugged in the network cable, and typed 175 Fifth Avenue, Manhattan into the map.

The result appeared instantly.

"The New York Continental Hotel."

Morin stared at the screen, deep in thought.

"So the organization from John Wick exists too. If that's the case, I can-huh?"

A knock interrupted him.

"..."

Morin stood and opened the door.

The moment it opened, a dark gun barrel was pressed toward his head.

"Don't move."

The man's voice was cold.

"Step back quietly. Hands up. I can't guarantee there won't be a bullet through your head in the next second."
