----------------------------------------------------------
Finding a place to stay turned out to be more troublesome than expected.
Emiya remembered that there was a noble's mansion on the outskirts of Axel.
For some reason, it would later become haunted by an evil spirit and end up abandoned.
With Aqua around, dealing with an evil spirit wouldn't be a problem.
However, when Emiya went to the housing agency, he discovered something unexpected.
The suburban mansion hadn't encountered any evil spirit issues yet. It was still perfectly intact.
Emiya immediately realized the reason.
He had arrived too early.
In the original plot, Kazuma Sato's group only encountered the haunted mansion after defeating one of the Demon King's generals, the Dullahan.
And right now, this was only their first day in this world.
So Emiya settled for the second-best option and asked about cheap housing instead.
The housing agent was a middle-aged man. After flipping through the records, he informed Emiya that even the cheapest houses couldn't be purchased with just tens of thousands of Eris.
In the end, Emiya left empty-handed.
"What do we do now?" Aqua asked as they walked along a quiet road. "How about staying at an inn for today?"
"We still have the 100,000 Eris from selling the blade," she added. "We should be able to afford a decent place."
Kazuma nodded in agreement.
Emiya thought for a moment, then shook his head.
"An inn isn't very convenient. Why don't we just find an empty place and build a house?"
"B-build a house?" Kazuma stared at him. "The three of us? Impossible. Absolutely impossible."
"Relax," Emiya said. "Don't forget my ability."
Kazuma paused. "Your ability can do that?"
"Yes," Emiya replied calmly.
The first Japanese person Aqua had sent here hadn't just built a house-he'd built an ancient palace that later became ruins.
Compared to that, building a house wasn't difficult.
"I see!" Kazuma suddenly perked up. "Alright, then let's do it!"
The two humans and one goddess wandered around Axel and eventually found a secluded piece of land with no one around.
Emiya stood before the empty space, closed his eyes, and began to imagine a mansion.
A moment later, light flashed.
A mansion materialized.
At the same time, Emiya felt a portion of his mental energy drain away.
He looked at the building and nodded in satisfaction.
It was a luxury mansion he had once seen online in his previous life. Priced at 300 million yen. Something he had always wanted, but could never afford.
And now, he had created it himself.
The feeling was complicated.
The joy of having superpowers really was hard to describe.
"Ohhh! A mansion!" Kazuma shouted. "This is way too luxurious!"
Before transmigrating, he'd been a shut-in who had only ever seen places like this on TV.
Now he was going to live in one.
"This world is amazing."
Aqua was just as excited. "As expected of Emiya! You're so reliable! With this mansion, our wonderful life is basically guaranteed."
She glanced at Kazuma. "Unlike a certain useless someone."
Kazuma didn't hear her.
His mind was already filled with thoughts of moving in.
The three of them entered the mansion. Emiya looked around and nodded again.
It was a complete replica-exterior, furniture, kitchen, everything.
There was only one issue.
No electricity.
In this world, that was normal.
But it wasn't a problem.
If there was no electricity, Emiya would just make some.
After a bit more work, by the time night fell, the mansion finally had power.
Lights turned on throughout the building.
Kazuma sprawled on the sofa, looking utterly satisfied. "It feels just like Japan."
Aqua looked at him disdainfully. "As if a shut-in like you could ever afford a place like this."
"What did you say?!"
Emiya returned to the living room after turning off the unnecessary lights and sighed when he saw the two of them glaring at each other.
"Enough. You're both hungry, right? Let's eat."
"Works for me."
"I'm fine with that too."
Peace was instantly restored.
Since the Adventurers' Guild also functioned as a tavern, the three of them decided to eat there.
Buying a house was impossible.
Buying dinner wasn't.
After some discussion, they ordered smoked lizard burger patties and ice-cold Crimson Neroid.
There was no need to explain the burgers.
The highlight was the Crimson Neroid.
It was technically a monster, but it could be turned into a drink. It tasted exceptionally good-a local specialty.
Emiya liked it after just a few sips.
It was even better than cola.
Aqua and Kazuma agreed.
So they ordered more and drank to their fill.
After eating and drinking their fill, Emiya led them back to the mansion.
Aqua immediately claimed the largest room.
"I'm a goddess," she declared confidently. "Isn't it natural that I get the best room?"
Emiya didn't care and chose a smaller one.
Kazuma glanced at Emiya. Since the person who built the mansion wasn't complaining, he swallowed his own objections.
With two people already in agreement, there was no point arguing.
"Well then," Kazuma said, "good night."
"Good night," Aqua replied.
"Good night," Emiya said. "Sleep well. Tomorrow, our adventure officially begins."
With that, he returned to his room, leaving behind two people filled with excitement.
