Quantity.
The number of magic spells a person can hold is fixed by the gods' blessing. The minimum is one. The maximum is three.
This meant that after receiving a blessing, a normal person could only learn three spells in their entire life.
Once those three were learned, no new spells could ever be added. Even if they encountered them later.
Of course, this rule wasn't absolute.
The Loki Familia had someone who broke it.
Lefiya Viridis.
She was the Sword Princess Ais's biggest fan and a Level 3 adventurer. In Orario, that placed her firmly in the second tier.
Within the Loki Familia, adventurers like her weren't rare, but they weren't top-tier either.
However, Riveria valued her highly.
Very highly.
The reason was simple.
Lefiya broke the fixed framework of magic, thanks to her third spell-Spirit Ring.
The purpose of that spell was to activate magic restricted to the elf race.
As long as the spell was an elf spell, Lefiya could cast it the moment she understood it.
The cost was higher magic consumption.
But in exchange, she could bypass the three-spell limit entirely.
That was why Riveria placed so much importance on her.
The gods even granted Lefiya the title "Thousand Elves."
But there was only one Thousand Elves.
Even Riveria herself hadn't broken the framework.
So when Riveria saw that, in another world, simply changing professions to "Archmage" allowed someone to learn more magic...
The impact was unimaginable.
After careful consideration, Riveria made her decision.
She would ask Emiya to take her with him.
She wanted to go to that world. Become an adventurer there. Change her profession to Archmage.
And learn more magic.
With more magic, she could better support her companions.
When faced with Riveria's request, Emiya didn't immediately answer.
Instead, he looked at Loki.
Loki waved her hand.
"This is Riveria's request. Don't look at me. Whether you agree or not is up to you."
They were both her Familia members. She wouldn't pressure Emiya just to favor Riveria.
Emiya thought for a moment.
It wasn't a bad deal.
"I'll agree," he said. "But you'll owe me a favor. A big one. Think carefully."
For Emiya, taking Riveria to another world was a small effort.
For Riveria, it was an unprecedented opportunity.
The price matched the value.
"Yes," Riveria answered without hesitation. "I agree."
Emiya smiled.
Then-
"Can I go too?"
The Sword Princess Ais spoke up from the side.
She had been listening for a while. Now she finally understood.
Seeing Riveria plead so earnestly had stirred something in her.
If she went with Emiya...
Could she become strong faster?
She had always been obsessed with strength. Far beyond what was normal.
"No! Absolutely not!"
Before Emiya could respond, Loki jumped up, crying as she clung to Ais.
"Ais-tan! Are you abandoning me to go with this guy? I'll never agree!"
Ais didn't hesitate.
She swung her fist.
Emiya winced just watching.
That was a heavy hit.
Are you sure it's okay to punch your own goddess like that?
Riveria spoke calmly from the side. "Don't worry. That's just how they are. Loki won't take it to heart."
Emiya nodded.
As expected of the Sword Princess.
Anyone else would never dare.
When a god loves you, rules stop applying.
Perhaps because Emiya was present, Ais didn't beat Loki senseless.
After teaching her a brief lesson, she released her grip and looked straight at Emiya.
Golden eyes.
Unblinking.
Emiya felt uncomfortable and took a few steps to the side.
Her gaze followed.
Locked on.
If he ran, she would chase.
So Emiya turned to Loki instead. He didn't want to ignore her opinion.
Loki noticed his gaze and immediately turned her head away.
She even started whistling.
Emiya didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
"I'll think about it and give you an answer later," he said. Then he walked toward Loki.
"Loki, let's go to your room. Update my information."
Loki nodded and made a heart gesture toward Ais.
"Ais-tan, I'll be right back. Wait for me!"
Ais watched Emiya's retreating back in silence.
He could feel her gaze burning into him and unconsciously sped up.
Soon, they arrived at Loki's room.
Loki locked the door.
Emiya took off his top. "Where should I lie down? The bed or the sofa?"
"Wherever," Loki replied.
He chose the bed.
Loki placed her hand on his back and began updating his Falna.
Moments later, she froze.
All five of Emiya's basic abilities had broken past the 999 limit.
They were in the 1000s.
His highest stat-magic-had surpassed 1100.
And there were new skills.
Besides Transcendence, Psychic, and Language Comprehension, he now had Fantasy Creation, Finding Foe, and Iron Wall.
He also gained a new magic spell.
Healing.
"You gained a lot," Loki muttered.
Then she leveled him up.
In Orario, the fastest to level up was Ais.
She reached LV.2 in one year.
In the future, that rabbit would break the record by doing it in a month.
But Emiya?
Less than a month since receiving his blessing. Not even two weeks.
Already LV.2.
With a pile of new skills.
Fantasy Creation aside, both Enemy Sensing and Iron Wall were extremely practical.
And Healing alone could heal most injuries.
That spell by itself would make countless adventurers line up to befriend him.
It was unfair.
World-hopping was just too unfair.
"These are your stats," Loki said, copying them and handing them over.
Emiya put his clothes back on and read the sheet.
He nodded.
Mostly as expected.
The only surprise was the level-up.
LV.1 to LV.2.
He hadn't expected that.
At most, he thought his stats would reach A. Maybe S.
Directly leveling up never crossed his mind.
Two different leveling systems reinforcing each other...
This exceeded his expectations completely.
Looks like I'm already a legend in Orario.
Even Bell Cranel didn't level this fast.
If this got out, Orario would explode.
But Emiya had no intention of spreading it.
He preferred quiet profits over fame.
He finished reading and casually destroyed the paper.
Then he looked at Loki, who was sitting on the sofa pouring black tea.
"What are you thinking?"
Loki blinked. "Huh?"
Emiya's face darkened. "Don't play dumb. I'm talking about Ais. She wants to go to the other world. Do you agree or not?"
Loki took a sip. "That's her decision. What does it have to do with me?"
"Then why were you so desperate to refuse earlier?"
"I just don't want Ais-tan to leave me!"
"Then I'll refuse her."
"Do you want Ais-tan to hate me forever?" Loki snapped.
"It's not that serious," Emiya said. "With her air-headed personality, she'd stop talking to you for a month. Maybe less."
"I don't want that either."
"Fine," Emiya said. "Then I'll agree. It's not a big deal."
Loki hesitated. "I don't want Ais-tan to leave me."
"It's only a few days," Emiya said. "Is that really such a big deal?"
She doted on Ais too much.
Treating her like personal property.
"You don't understand," Loki said. "Ais-tan has never left since joining my Familia. Now she's going to another world. What if she gets hurt?"
Her voice wavered.
That world was far more dangerous than she had imagined.
The gods behind it weren't something Loki Familia could challenge.
If something happened to Ais, Loki wouldn't even be able to seek justice.
Orario's gods wouldn't start a war over a single child.
She knew Emiya would never accept such a demand.
Emiya didn't know her deeper thoughts.
He only saw a worried goddess.
"Relax," he said. "You've seen the story. You know Aqua. She's an idiot, but her revival magic is solid."
"If Ais gets into danger, one revival is enough to fix any accident."
