Chapter 127: Bloodline Resonance
"Mu En, Shrek Academy."
Di Tian's voice was like the clash of cold ice, sharp and biting.
"This is not a place for you. You'd better leave immediately, or don't blame me for being impolite!"
Elder Mu stepped forward. Despite his hunched back, his presence was undiminished, as imposing as a towering mountain.
"The celestial phenomenon we just witnessed was likely not caused by a usual soul beast's breakthrough. Di Tian, you better give us an explanation!"
Di Tian sneered, "What does the Star Dou Forest have to do with you? This is the territory of soul beasts. Humans should stay out of it!"
His golden pupils swept across the group, lingering on Elder Mu for a moment, a trace of disdain flashing in his eyes.
"It seems you... don't feel good, do you? You're at this age, and yet you still come out and stir things up."
Yan Shaozhe shouted angrily, "Nonsense! How dare you speak to my master like that!"
The Light Phoenix Martial Soul instantly enveloped him, flames igniting around him as though to dispel the darkness.
But Elder Mu held his shoulder, signaling for him to calm down.
"An old, frail body. Don't worry about it."
Elder Mu coughed twice, then changed the subject, "But this phenomenon affects the entire continent. If it triggers a beast wave, it will be a disaster for all living beings. Don't you care about the safety of the entire Douluo Continent?"
"Hmph!"
Di Tian was surrounded by black mist, the pressure of an 800,000-year-old soul beast causing the surrounding trees to snap and crack with a loud noise.
"What does the continent's safety have to do with me? Now—leave! Don't make me take action!"
With his final roar, a terrifying wave of energy forced everyone back several steps.
When the black mist cleared, Di Tian had already disappeared.
"How arrogant!"
Qian Duoduo fumed, his beard sticking straight up like an angry hedgehog.
Xian Lin'er, however, seemed lost in thought, "He seems to be hiding something. There must be something more to this."
Yan Shaozhe suddenly recalled something from the auction at the Star Auction Pavilion, "Right! One of the items they auctioned this time: the dragon egg containing both life and dark powers, this matches exactly with the phenomenon we just saw!"
Elder Mu's murky eyes suddenly lit up, "No wonder Di Tian was so nervous... They must have obtained something extraordinary. The birth of this mysterious soul beast could very well disrupt the balance of the entire Douluo Continent."
While the group was in silence, Elder Zhuang suddenly pointed at the ground and exclaimed, "Look!"
They saw countless glowing fungi emerging from the soil, growing and blooming at an observable rate.
What was even stranger was that these mushrooms cast dragon-shaped shadows in the moonlight.
Elder Mu bent down and touched one of the mushrooms. His fingertip immediately turned emerald green, the glow containing an overwhelming amount of life energy.
"The purity of life energy is ten times greater than normal!" He quickly pulled his hand back, and where his hand had touched, tiny black spots appeared, as if the darkness was eroding the light.
"Light and dark originate from the same source," the old man's voice trembled, "If this soul beast grows, the consequences are unimaginable! Its power is too great. If it falls into the wrong hands, the entire Douluo Continent will be doomed to an irreversible disaster."
Deep concern appeared on Elder Mu's weathered face: "Storms are approaching. The Spirit Hall, the soul beasts, and this mysterious soul beast—all the forces are stirring. The Douluo Continent is about to face an unprecedented crisis."
"We must prepare thoroughly. Otherwise, the consequences will be unthinkable."
After hearing this, everyone's faces grew serious, an invisible pressure descending on them, as if they were caught in the calm before a storm, unable to breathe.
In the depths of the Life Lake, the emerald water rippled with strange halos.
Gu Yue Nana's silver hair hung loosely, her fingertips lightly touching the surface of the water, creating ripples.
In front of her, the Dark Night Elven Dragon cub was curled up on a piece of green jade, its black and green scales flickering with each breath.
"Master, look at this."
Di Tian held a shattered eggshell in both hands, his golden vertical pupils filled with doubt, "The patterns on the inside of the eggshell—I've never seen them before."
Gu Yue Nana took the piece of the shell, her purple eyes glowing like the stars.
The patterns were not simple designs; they were composed of countless tiny symbols, each containing the profound power of laws.
Then, Gu Yue Nana gently stroked the baby dragon's back, her voice heavier than ever before, "Its bloodline doesn't belong to the Douluo Continent. In fact, in some ways, its bloodline surpasses that of the Dragon God at its peak."
"Bloodline surpassing the Dragon God..." Di Tian's voice was dry. "How is that possible?"
Just as Gu Yue Nana was about to answer, a clear ringing sound came from the lakeside.
The Three-Eyed Golden Lion walked through the moonlight, its golden vertical pupils curiously looking at the baby dragon, "So this is the little one causing the phenomenon?"
"Don't get too close!" Bi Ji rushed to stop it, but the Three-Eyed Golden Lion had already crouched in front of the green jade.
As soon as the golden and silver vertical pupils met, the baby dragon's crystal eye suddenly lit up at the same time as the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's Fate Eye.
"Boom—"
Golden and silver light pillars shot up into the sky, twisting into a double-helix structure in the air.
The entire Life Lake began to boil and evaporate. Gu Yue Nana was shocked to find that her Silver Dragon King bloodline was actually boiling and ascending within this light!
Di Tian, too, revealed his true form, ancient golden patterns appearing on his black dragon scales. He howled toward the sky, "My bottleneck is actually loosening!"
In the center of the light pillar, the Three-Eyed Golden Lion and the baby dragon hovered in midair, their powers of Fate, Life, and Darkness perfectly merging.
Around them, thousands of phantoms appeared: ancient life trees bursting with blinding light, a figure standing at the edge of darkness.
"Power fusion? No... it's bloodline resonance!"
Gu Yue Nana suddenly understood and shouted to the two beasts, "Try to control this power!"
The Three-Eyed Golden Lion's front paw touched the baby dragon's wing, and the golden and silver light suddenly shrank into a small light ball the size of a palm.
Inside the light ball, faint glimpses of a miniature universe of life and death could be seen.
"Go!"
With a light command from the Three-Eyed Golden Lion, the light ball flew toward a mountain peak a hundred miles away.
There was no explosion, no sound, the mountain peak vanished as if erased by an eraser, leaving not even a trace of dust.
What was even more terrifying was that the space where it had disappeared continued to twist, forming a permanent spatial rift.
"Such immense power, and with the added power of fate, it's impossible to defend against!"
The King of Ten Thousand Beasts, Bear Lord, and the other fierce beasts marveled after sensing the aftershock of the attack.
The baby dragon weakly fell into Gu Yue Nana's arms, while the Three-Eyed Golden Lion was also panting.
But both of their eyes sparkled with excitement.
Gu Yue Nana checked the baby dragon and found that not only had the resonance not caused any harm, but it had also stabilized the dragon's bloodline. The Three-Eyed Golden Lion's Fate Eye now had additional silver patterns.
Di Tian, returning to human form, approached excitedly, "Master, if they grow up like this..."
Gu Yue Nana, however, looked toward the south, her gaze seeming to pierce through layers of space, "For thousands of years, humans have suppressed our soul beast clan."
She gently stroked the baby dragon's crystal eye, "But now, with the auspicious beasts and the Dark Night Elven Dragon, we have a chance to change our fate."
