Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Kizaru

Jack created a chain forged from cosmic technology, its dark blue links pulsing with flickers of light. The chain slithered around Akainu like a living serpent absorbing akainu haki and magma power. Akainu roared, after waking up for a while, he struggling violently, but the more he fought, the weaker he became. His logia powere were absorbed. Soon, his strength drained completely, leaving him powerless and unable to even lift his arm.

Jack watched carefully, adjusting the chain power output. "This tech was designed to seal energy and the user of logia like you," he muttered. "You can't melt the chain with your magma power.."

The reason Jack wanted Akainu alive was simple, everything is for research. He had recently succeeded in extracting a Devil Fruit from a captured CP9 member. The process was groundbreaking but there is a weakness, the user will die if he extracted everything which he accidentally kill Blueno.

After that he try to extract a power from it and left residual fragments,, leaving behind a "hole" that carried the curse of the sea. The subject lost all Devil Fruit powers but still became weak with seawater or seastone.

That means even if the power was extracted, the person can't eat another devil fruit otherwise he or she would explode.

Suddenly his radar detected someone who moved very fast, almost the same speed when he tapped into Makkari power.

Before anyone could react, a golden flash tore across the clouds. Every pirate, Marine, and revolutionary paused, heads turning toward the sky as a beam of radiant light pierced through the storm.

Admiral Kizaru had arrived.

"Man… this island's turned into quite the disaster, huh?" he said lazily, hovering above the battlefield. Even his usually carefree voice carried tension. Sweat rolled down his cheek as he scanned the destruction below, Akainu defeated, the Holy Knights cornered and Marine forces crushed and only few remains but by the looks of it they will soon be defeated.

Kizaru eyes hardened behind his sunglasses. "Akainu… down? My, my…" he muttered, half in disbelief. "Didn't expect things to get this bad. My orders are to retrieve the Holy Knights… but can I save Akainu too?"

He hesitated. Garling and Shamrock were far closer to his position than Akainu, whose body was wrapped in Jack cosmic chains. The logical choice was obvious he couldn't save them all and he wasn't sure if he could save son and father at the same time.

Below, Garling clashed with Zoro, his blade trembling under the weight of Zoro Haki his haki nearly depleted. Nearby, Shamrock was surrounded by Dragon, and Sabo tired but still resisting through sheer will and regeneration.

Father and son stood back to back, breathing heavily, their auras flickering like dying flames.

Kizaru exhaled softly. "Yare yare… orders are orders."

In the next instant, he vanished.

A blinding flash engulfed the battlefield.

Zoro cursed, shielding his eyes. "What the.... ?! I can't see anything!"

Jack felt the sudden surge of photonic energy and tried to counter, but Kizaru light was so intense that they need to closed their eyes.

When the glare faded, both Garling and Shamrock were gone.

Far above, Kizaru hovered in the clouds, holding one Holy Knight under each arm, his coat fluttering in the fierce wind.

Sabo clenched his fists. "KIZARU!"

"Now, now…" Kizaru's voice echoed lazily from above. "You revolutionaries really made a mess this time. Admirals defeated, Marines wiped out… You've certainly outdone yourselves."

Dragon's gaze sharpened, cloak rippling like a storm. "You're not leaving with them, Borsalino."

"Ah, afraid I can't help it, Dragon-san," Kizaru replied, forcing a calm smile. "Orders from the very top. Besides…" his tone dropped "I'm not here to fight. I'm here to save them."

The next second, the sky flashed with light again and Kizaru was gone, vanishing beyond the horizon with the two Holy Knights in tow.

Akainu remained bound and unconscious on the battlefield, still trapped in Jack cosmic chain.

High above the sky of Whiskey Peak, a lone figure hovered amidst the drifting smoke, watching, recording, and capturing as much footage as he could.

That person was none other than Big News Morgans.

Even though Jack had noticed him earlier, he didn't bother trying to capture him. After all, Morgans was one of his favorite characters, a man who dared to broadcast truth no matter how dangerous it was. Knowing him, this battle would be printed across the front page of tomorrow newspaper without fail.

In one of the original stories, the World Government once sent Cipher Pol agents to control and suppress the news. But Morgans refused. Instead of bowing down, he confronted them head-on, proving that he was not a puppet of the Government.

Sometimes he would suppress the news if World Government paid him enough money and with that money he expanded his business, hire more staff and upgrading the equipment. But when he feel it was necessary to report the truth he would do it no matter how much World Government was willing to pay.

Jack, was curious to see whether Morgans would dare to publish everything this time or if he'd hide some of the truth.

"Kwaaaaahhh!" Morgans cackled, his beak splitting into a manic grin as he adjusted his hat. "Now this… this is front-page gold! The Marines defeated! The Admirals down! The Holy Knights were saved by Kizaru! And the Straw Hats standing tall beside the Revolutionary Army!"

He flapped his wings, circling the devastated island as he snapped photo after photo. His Den Den Mushi remained open, its lens clicking nonstop.

"B-Boss!" one of his reporters stammered through the transponder. "If you publish this… the World Government will—"

"Shut it!" Morgans barked gleefully, his eyes gleaming behind his round lenses. "You think I care what those bald-headed fossils think? This is the story of the century! The balance of power just cracked in half, and the whole world's gonna hear it!"

He zoomed in with his camera, capturing Luffy standing proudly beside his crewmates, the Revolutionary Army behind them, and the fallen Marine ships burning along the shoreline. Akainu and the remaining marines who survived were already being taken into custody. Every single photo he took was a scandal waiting to explode.

"Look at that shot!" Morgans crooned, feathers puffing in satisfaction. "Monkey D. Luffy, the man who defeated an Admiral! Monkey D. Dragon, leader of the Revolutionary Army, fighting side by side with his son! And that boy, Jack… who the heck is he? That combat suit was probably made by him! Should I make another headline about him too?!"

He chuckled darkly, flapping higher into the air as the wind whipped through his feathers. "Doesn't matter. The world gonna find out soon enough."

A few moment later, Morgans landed back inside his movable office blimp, barking orders to his crew to speed things up. The headline was already forming in his mind.

Suddenly, one of his subordinates ran up to him in panic.

"Boss, the World Government just sent a transmission! They're ordering us to stop the publication!"

"Who cares about those old fossils?" Morgans replied arrogantly, slamming one claw on his desk. "I am the news! And it's me who decides whether to publish it or not!"

Before anyone could respond, the subordinate froze. Then, without warning, he pulled out a gun and aimed it at Morgans. His disguise fell apart, revealing a black Cipher Pol uniform beneath his coat.

"You are under arrest," said the agent coldly.

BAM!!

Before the man could even fire, Morgans moved faster. His clawed wing struck like lightning, sending the agent crashing into a pile of papers. The gun clattered across the floor.

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!" Morgans roared. "MARINES, WORLD GOVERNMENT, EVEN THE ELDERS, NO ONE CAN STOP ME!"

He turned toward his staff. "HEY YOU GUYS! PACK EVERYTHING UP! OUR LOCATION'S BEEN COMPROMISED, WE'RE MOVING OUT!"

Within minutes, the crew scrambled to relocate the entire airship. The massive newsroom engines roared to life, rising into the clouds once more.

When they were finally safe, Morgans sat back at his desk, feathers still ruffled, and began typing furiously.

"MARINES CRUSHED AT WHISKEY PEAK! STRAW HATS AND REVOLUTIONARY ARMY VICTORIOUS — ADMIRALS DEFEATED!"

"THE SCIENTIST WHO RIVALED VEGAPUNK — JACK F. CORRIE AND HIS COMBAT SUIT THAT WITHSTOOD AN ADMIRAL MAGMA!"

Morgans wrote in vivid detail everything he saw, the fall of Akainu, the mysterious power of Jack suit, Luffy's reunion with his father, and Kizaru saving the Celestial Dragon Knights. He printed the pictures he took during the battle and even the aftermath of the destruction.

"Full print run!" Morgans shouted, raising one clawed wing dramatically. "Triple circulation! The world deserves to know the truth!"

His staff erupted into motion. The sound of printing presses filled the air, papers flying in every direction. Morgans watched proudly as the first copies rolled out, his grin stretching from ear to ear.

"History being written right now," he said softly, his voice low but filled with excitement. "And I'm the one holding the pen."

He walked to the edge of his flying newsroom and looked out toward the direction of Whiskey Peak.

Then, spreading his massive wings, he let the sunlight hit his feathers as he laughed into the wind.

"KUWAHAHAHAHAHA! LET THE WORLD TREMBLE, BECAUSE TODAY'S NEWS WILL SHAKE IT TO ITS CORE!"

In Marineford the meeting took place on Fleet Admiral room.

"That's what happened…" reported Kizaru, his tone unusually heavy and lost his playful tone.

Everyone inside the room fell silent.

He had just returned from Marie Geoise after personally saving the severely wounded Saint Figarland Garling and the barely conscious Saint Shamrock. The usually relaxed admiral looked visibly strained, his coat torn, his shades cracked, and his usual lazy smile nowhere to be seen.

After dropping them off, he immediately headed back to Marineford to report everything directly to Fleet Admiral Sengoku, who was sitting alongside the other Vice Admiral and among them there is Vice Admiral Tsuru and Vice Admiral Garp.

Sengoku leaned forward, hands clasped tightly on the desk. "Is Akainu still alive?"

Kizaru hesitated, the room tension thickening.

Garp crossed his arms, his expression unreadable, but his jaw tightened slightly. He knew better than anyone how serious things were especially when his own son was involved on the opposite side.

"…He's alive, barely," Kizaru finally said, voice low and grim. "I managed to save the Holy Knights, but Akainu… it was impossible to bring him too. Saint Garling is in critical condition. Saint Shamrock… barely breathing. The Straw Hats and the Revolutionary Army completely overpowered us. Even the Buster Call...." he paused, clenching his fist, "....was destroyed."

A long silence followed. Only the faint ticking of the wall clock could be heard.

Sengoku rubbed his forehead, trying to process the report. "The Buster Call… destroyed? Do you have any idea what this means, Kizaru?"

Kizaru nodded slightly but said nothing.

Vice Admiral Tsuru spoke next, her sharp eyes narrowing. "So the Revolutionary Army truly moved openly this time… and the Straw Hats fought alongside them?"

"Yes," Kizaru replied. "The combat suit that they wore is a technology that I believe surpassed Vegapunk."

"That black suit on the bounty poster?" asked Sengoku.

"Yes.... but by the looks of it I believe it was created by Vice Captain Jack F Corrie.

Sengoku frowned. "Jack? That Vice Captain of Straw Hat Pirates?"

Kizaru adjusted his broken shades, his expression serious. "Yes it is him, I saw him did something and I believe he was the scientist that created the combat suit. A technology I've never seen before, even from Vegapunk. His combat suit neutralized Akainu magma completely. The Admiral's attacks did nothing against strawhat pirates."

Tsuru eyes widened slightly. "Neutralized magma? That's impossible unless they are coated with Haki."

"I thought so too," said Kizaru, shaking his head. "But I saw it myself. The suit absorbed the heat on the ground and I can't feel haki when Jack on top of magma."

"Kizaru, ask Vegapunk if he could create something similar that man Jack had built." ordered Sengoku.
