Chapter 126 - Chapter 127: A Day of Li Yao's Secluded Training

Chapter 127: A Day of Li Yao's Secluded Training

A new day began with the crescent moon rising into the sky.

Around six in the morning… Though truth be told, Li Yao couldn't really tell the time. The day-night cycle in the Arctic Circle was vastly different from that near the equator.

But it didn't matter. Li Yao didn't care about time.

After taking a long pee, Li Yao woke up refreshed and full of energy. He decided to take that as the start of a new day.

"Let's begin the day by training in the Lightning Style Chakra Mode."

Li Yao sat cross-legged atop a large protruding boulder in the center of a valley. His eyes were closed, and his body occasionally flickered with faint blue-white arcs of electricity.

Deep within his body, Li Yao continuously manipulated Lightning Style chakra, channeling faint electric currents to stimulate his cells, keeping them excited and active—as though undergoing electrotherapy, albeit for a much longer duration.

Zzzzz… After a while, maybe about a minute, the cells began to show signs of strain, unable to endure the constant stimulation.

At that moment, with a shift in focus, Li Yao summoned Wood Style chakra to heal the damaged cells, and then resumed the electrotherapy.

This was the essence of training Lightning Style Chakra Mode—there were no shortcuts, only the gradual accumulation of time and the body's adaptation.

During his prolonged conflict with the Third Raikage, especially the final close-range battle, Li Yao had perceived the secrets of the Raikage's Lightning Style Chakra Mode.

It wasn't simply a matter of cloaking the body in Lightning chakra to enhance physical performance and reflexes—this was no ordinary ninjutsu-body technique hybrid.

In the battle at the unnamed valley in the Land of Earth, the Third Raikage had gotten close enough to almost touch Li Yao's true body, allowing him to sense it with clarity.

In that state, the Raikage's body had almost fused with Lightning chakra, becoming a special type of lifeform that was half chakra energy, half flesh and blood.

In that semi-energetic state, the Third Raikage's reaction speed was astonishing. Even with Li Yao having opened the Gate of Death and dramatically enhanced his nervous reflexes, his black iron chains were still largely ineffective against the Raikage.

That was how fast the Raikage could move in that form.

Achieving such physical responsiveness wasn't possible through a mere chakra armor overlay.

The key lay in that state where the flesh had become nearly indistinguishable from pure Lightning chakra.

That near-complete fusion elevated the Raikage's body to its absolute limit, giving him unbelievable reflexes and durability.

To reach that level of physical strength…

Li Yao's path forward was clear: continuously train his cells to adapt to Lightning chakra until the two fused, and the body would naturally evolve.

So that was what Li Yao was doing now—condensing Lightning chakra and using electricity to stimulate his cells, speeding up their adaptation.

Once the cells reached a sufficient level of adaptation, he could activate Lightning Style Chakra Mode and master the technique.

Up until now, when reviewing his various abilities…

Li Yao's weakest aspect was taijutsu. His proficiency in ninjutsu, genjutsu, and sealing techniques was all above average.

His biggest limiting factor was his chakra reserves.

And chakra required a powerful body.

Now that he had opened the Gate of Death, Li Yao's body felt like it had all its limiters removed.

Lately, even without training—just walking, breathing, and sleeping—his body continued to grow stronger day by day. His dantian space had even expanded.

Li Yao began to wonder: would he become like Saitama from One Punch Man—train for three years and gain the power to split the Earth with a side parting?

This was why he chose to focus on Lightning Style Chakra Mode—to accelerate his physical growth.

Taijutsu might seem unimpressive, but once it broke through its limits, it had the potential to deliver world-ending blows.

Imagine: three years later, a casual punch equals Evening Elephant; a serious kick becomes Night Guy.

When Six Paths Madara arrived, Li Yao wouldn't just dance—he'd party hard.

Forget waiting for Naruto and Sasuke to be born. In three years, he'd kick off the final battle and destroy the entire ninja world.

He just didn't know if his current body had any limits left.

Fully focused on refining Lightning chakra and stimulating his cells, Li Yao silently looked forward to who he would become in four years.

An hour passed.

After exhausting a large amount of chakra, Li Yao paused his training, leapt down, and arrived at the frozen sea to begin high-speed sprint training.

Running—the most fundamental form of physical training.

First, a ten-minute all-out sprint. Then ten minutes of rest. Then ten minutes of push-ups, ten minutes of rest, ten minutes of sit-ups, and finally another ten-minute sprint, completing a one-hour training circuit.

After that, he returned to training Lightning Style Chakra Mode for another hour, followed by a physical training session.

Repeating this cycle three times, totaling six hours of training, Li Yao finished his morning routine and was ready to eat.

"Fish it is today!"

Li Yao thought to himself, condensing a blazing fireball in his hand. He leapt into the air and smashed it down onto the ice.

Boom!

After an explosive burst of heat, a two-meter-wide hole opened in the ice, revealing the dark seawater beneath.

Thud!

Li Yao landed beside the hole. With a thought, a fishing rod made of ink materialized in his hand, complete with a line, hook, and bait—all formed using his Ink Mimicry Technique.

He dropped the bait—an ink-crafted fish—into the water, controlling it to swim around below the surface.

Despite the freezing, desolate surroundings, there was clearly no shortage of wildlife. Fish were bound to be plentiful beneath the ice.

Sure enough, he didn't wait long. A large fish took the bait in one gulp.

Thanks to the chakra infused with his consciousness, Li Yao could sense the catch clearly, even without a bobber.

With a thought, the small bait fish transformed into eight ink threads that shot through the big fish's body, binding it tightly.

Li Yao yanked the rod with strength.

Though the fish was powerful, against Li Yao's chakra-enhanced physical strength, it was like reeling in a guppy. No need to wear it out—he hoisted it straight from the hole.

"A tuna?"

The fish looked like a giant bluefin tuna from Earth, probably weighing 700–800 pounds.

It was still thrashing wildly.

"Should I bleed it?"

"Yeah, let's do it."

Remembering some videos he'd seen on Douyin about handling tuna, Li Yao slit the fish's tail after killing it, draining its blood.

By the time he returned to his valley cabin, he had already butchered the tuna into over fifty pieces. He only kept one piece of meat and bone to eat—the rest went into his black water storage space.

In the kitchen of the wooden house, the stove was made using Earth Style, the pot with Ink Mimicry, the firewood with Wood Style, and it was lit using Fire Style. The water in the pot came from Water Style. The fish… was 100% organic.

On Earth's internet, some joked that if the Sand Village had applied their Earth Style to infrastructure, they wouldn't have been so poor—even needing the Kazekage himself to go gold mining just to scrape by.

Clearly, ninjutsu held enormous potential for construction and survival.

At least for Li Yao, the advantages of elemental jutsu in the wild were undeniable.

Of course, this only worked if you knew a lot of different jutsu.

Things like conjuring a proper cooking pot weren't within most ninja's capabilities.

Thankfully, Li Yao had developed the Ink Mimicry Technique, which allowed ink to retain real-world physical properties. His ink pots could transfer heat and hold water like real cookware.

Ten minutes later…

Li Yao filled a massive ink-formed bowl with fish soup and meat, sat in the dining room on a chair made from Wood Style, and began eating.

Once he was full, he returned to his bedroom for a nap.

While he slept, beneath the cabin, in front of a boiler, one of Li Yao's shadow clones tended the fire and kept the water boiling.

Li Yao had installed a heating system in the cabin.

By continuously boiling water to produce steam, which flowed through ink-formed pipes, the cabin temperature stayed at a steady 20 degrees Celsius.

So, even though the average temperature outside was below minus ten, Li Yao could sleep comfortably inside without a blanket.

This highlighted his special talent once again.

Because his consciousness was fused with chakra…

The ink-formed pipes and boiler remained under his absolute control and could persist almost indefinitely.

Unless he actively dispelled the chakra, the ink constructs wouldn't fade.

This ability allowed him the luxury of installing a central heating system in his little wooden cabin.

Two hours later, Li Yao woke up.

After washing up, he returned to the valley.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

With a single fireball, he cleared a wide patch of snow to expose the rocky ground. He picked up a stone, bounced it in his hand, and scanned it with chakra.

Then, with a thought…

"Transformation Technique."

Using the transformation chakra he'd copied from Enma, combined with the standard Transformation Technique, he activated the jutsu.

Poof!

A puff of white smoke dissipated. Li Yao was gone, replaced by a strange greenish-brown rock with Li Yao's face on it.

"Such a weird sensation!"

Li Yao could feel part of his body turning into stone. No—his whole body was stone, except for his head, which remained flesh.

The transformation chakra copied from Enma was truly insane. When combined with the Transformation Technique, it could change living flesh into non-living material like stone—while still retaining self-awareness.

Poof!

Li Yao deactivated the transformation and returned to normal.

He still couldn't fully master the fusion of transformation chakra with the Transformation Technique. It would take long-term practice.

Next, Li Yao captured a snow rabbit, used chakra to scan and collect its biological data, and then tried transforming into the rabbit.

Though not fully successful, the parts that were transformed replicated the snow rabbit's flesh exactly.

"Excellent. I've chosen the right path."

In a way, the Transformation Technique was already close to a perfect transformation.

Apart from being unable to hide his chakra signature, there was virtually no difference from Li Yao's ideal version of the jutsu.

Because the technique allowed him to perfectly replicate another being's flesh, down to the genes and cells.

If Li Yao transformed into the Third Hokage, even his cellular structure would be identical.

"Too bad chakra can't be copied too."

Li Yao sighed to himself. If he could also replicate someone's chakra perfectly, then even someone like Minato, with his chakra-sensing ability, wouldn't be able to detect the fake.

"How can I replicate chakra too?"

While continuing his transformation training, he pondered this problem.

But no matter how long he thought, he had no leads.

Flesh and blood could be copied, but chakra was the fusion of physical and mental energy—and the mental component was tied to the soul.

Li Yao couldn't even perceive others' souls. How could he possibly copy them?

It was a dead end. For now, there was no solution.

But he wasn't in a rush. First, he needed to master the transformation technique to the point of flawlessly replicating flesh and blood.

Once he became stronger, he could search for secret techniques related to souls.

"The Third's always wanted my improved Spirit Transformation Technique. That probably means he has the original version, right?"

"Hmph, most likely."

Li Yao smirked to himself. Back then, the Third tortured him to get the Spirit Transformation Technique. Four years from now, it would be his turn to torment the Third to hand it over.

Once he acquired the Spirit Transformation Technique and developed a perfect transformation…

Hehehe.

The Third Hokage, Konoha—we've got plenty of time to play.

After four more hours of training, night fell—well, supposedly. The sun had just made a curve and was still in the sky.

Li Yao returned to the cabin. After eating and resting, he began researching how to strengthen the black iron chains.

Those chains couldn't withstand the Third Raikage's One-Finger Thrust, and that almost cost him dearly—he hadn't forgotten.

While Li Yao studied the chains, his shadow clone continued tending the fire and refining Wood Style chakra.

Chakra nature wasn't static once mastered.

Even with the same Wood Style, some users could only grow plants, while Hashirama could grab Tailed Beast Bombs with giant wooden avatars.

That difference stemmed from the quality of their Wood Style chakra.

It was like comparing raw iron to finely forged steel—the strength wasn't even close.

Li Yao's Wood Style still had a long way to go before reaching the level of the God of Shinobi.

Back in the battle at the valley in the Land of Earth, his Deep Forest Emergence may have looked impressive, but it was still a far cry from Hashirama's.

His trees could be sliced apart by Wind Style attacks from Cloud Jonin, unlike Hashirama's which could withstand Tailed Beast Bombs.

His Wood Style was too fragile—that's why he couldn't defeat the Third Raikage.

Otherwise, if the trees were harder to cut, the Raikage would already be dead.

That's why his shadow clone was constantly refining the quality of his Wood Style chakra—to increase the overall strength of his Wood techniques.

Four hours later.

Li Yao stopped researching the black iron chains, dismissed his clone, and created another to tend the boiler. Then he went to bed.

This time he slept longer—more like a proper night's rest—before starting the same training routine the next day.

This was a rough picture of Li Yao's daily life during seclusion.

Though a bit monotonous, his six years of lab experience made it feel natural—he even enjoyed it.

After all, the sensation of growing stronger each day… was exhilarating.
