Chapter 159 - Chapter 159 Bulletproof Vest

The gunshots ceased; a man across the carriage, hit six times, fell dead. They had been sent to kill Wesley and Carlos.

But the moment Hammer appeared, he was taken down.

They had no idea that at the other end of the carriage were two top assassins. Hammer, caught off guard, never imagined he would die in such a situation—it was a disgrace.

After firing their Pistols, Zhang Jie and John immediately moved, knowing that staying put would mean not even knowing how they died.

Hammer's sudden death startled Bayonet and Musketeer, but they quickly recovered, immediately darting to either side of the carriage.

They, too, couldn't see their opponents, but they naturally had their methods. Both fired a shot simultaneously, and two bullets curved in opposite directions.

Bang! Bang!

Bullets sparked above their heads, but Zhang Jie and John had already ducked down.

Knowing your bullets can curve, why would I stand here and let you shoot me? That would be too foolish, wouldn't it?

However, Zhang Jie, being the sly one, still gave a muffled groan in cooperation.

Though not very clear, the groan was heard by the other side, and one of them was instantly overjoyed.

So, they both fired again.

Bang! Bang!

John, across from Zhang Jie, saw his signal and reluctantly let out a muffled groan as well.

The two muffled groans were not very clear amidst the train's rumble, but Bayonet and Musketeer were ecstatic; hitting someone was a good sign.

So, the two immediately rushed over, assessing the situation in this carriage.

However, they were met with two shots.

Bang! Bang!

Musketeer was shot in the chest, and Bayonet was shot in the knee.

There was no delay.

Their adrenaline surged instantly; disregarding the pain, they only wanted to eliminate the enemy in front of them immediately.

But Zhang Jie and John were not to be trifled with; their reactions were almost synchronized. The moment they raised their Pistols, John and Zhang Jie simultaneously rose and fired two more shots.

This time, one of Zhang Jie's shots hit Musketeer directly in the heart, and another went straight for his brow.

John, on the other hand, was even more decisive; one shot pierced Bayonet's throat, and the second hit his brow.

Two splashes of red and white brains instantly bloomed. Just like that, Bayonet and Musketeer died without understanding why.

More precisely, Bayonet, Hammer, and Musketeer—all three died without understanding why.

Hammer's death was understandable; he fell victim to the duo's quick reactions, caught completely by surprise. But Bayonet and Musketeer's deaths were truly frustrating; they were completely outmaneuvered by Zhang Jie, the sly one.

John was also surprised by Zhang Jie's quick thinking, coming up with a way to deal with them in such a short time.

In Zhang Jie's words, it was a 'sly' move, something John disdained using but had to admit was incredibly effective.

After dealing with these three, the two scouted the rear carriages, found no trace of assassins, and immediately turned back, rushing towards the rear of the train.

Carlos needed assistance.

On the other side, Carlos and Wesley were already engaged in an intense gunfight. Every one of Wesley's bullets was precisely intercepted by Carlos.

Ahem, this made Wesley feel very frustrated, but Carlos consistently avoided close combat with him, which was a big problem.

The tunnel was ahead, Zhang Jie thought to himself, 'Not good, I need to speed up!'

As for saving others?

Please, I'm not a saint. Whether others live or die is none of my business; I'm a cold-blooded assassin!

When Zhang Jie and John reached the third-to-last carriage, Zhang Jie felt all the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. Without thinking, he slammed John to the ground, and both men lay flat on the carriage floor.

A bullet grazed Zhang Jie's scalp and shot past.

It turned out Simmons had spotted him and fired directly at him.

Then, the two repeated their trick, rolling directly to the corner of the carriage and crouching down.

This time, John couldn't care about his pride; the law of 'it smells good' is always irrefutable.

However, Simmons did not fire again. Instead, she just stood there, coldly looking in the direction of the fourth carriage.

"Hey! I think we've met, right?" Zhang Jie crouched against the carriage, shouting towards Simmons.

"I know you!"

Simmons, of course, remembered him. That day, this guy had stared at her like a pig's head.

She'll reply?

There's a chance!

On the other side, Carlos and Wesley had entered an intensified battle, but even so, he still found himself completely suppressed by Carlos.

At this moment, the train had entered the tunnel, and the scenery outside the window suddenly darkened.

Trouble!

Zhang Jie knew that if he didn't find a way to get there soon, something serious would happen. Although Zhang Jie had made Carlos wear a vest before they set off, Carlos had only reluctantly put it on after Zhang Jie's strong insistence.

Even so, Zhang Jie couldn't guarantee how effective this insurance would be, especially since, under the emotion of losing his father (fake), that anger might cloud his judgment.

Zhang Jie's mind raced, and suddenly he blurted out, "Mrs. Schneider misses you very much!"

The moment these words left his mouth, the other side suddenly fell silent.

"Who are you?"

Then Simmons asked this question, immediately followed by a tremor throughout the entire carriage.

Oh no!

"I'm Mrs. Schneider's tenant. She told me she misses you. You haven't been home in a long time."

After a long silence, Simmons fired a shot directly in the direction of Zhang Jie's voice!

Bang!

"Heh heh, if I didn't know what kind of person that Old Lady is, I might actually believe your nonsense!" Simmons sneered, but her next words made Zhang Jie breathe a sigh of relief.

"Tell her I'll make time to see her."

Like the Old Lady, is she also a person with a sharp tongue but a soft heart?

However, he didn't notice that when he mentioned Mrs. Schneider, John's expression also subtly changed.

Then the train exited the tunnel, followed by violent shaking.

It turned out that the old Ford that Simmons was driving had crashed into the carriage, with a section still protruding outside. When the train entered the tunnel, that section experienced severe friction with the tunnel, causing half of the carriage to derail.

The train lost control the moment it rushed out of the tunnel. The front few carriages immediately plunged into the canyon below.

The people inside were naturally dead; there was no doubt about that. The carriages continued to fall, dragging the ones in front with them, quickly reaching their second-to-last carriage.

Things happened very quickly, but Zhang Jie's reaction was even faster. He immediately pulled John and rushed towards the second carriage, no longer caring whether Simmons would shoot.

However, at this critical moment, the second carriage also detached, instantly turning everything upside down.

Zhang Jie and John could only cling tightly to the seats.

After the carriage plunged sharply downwards for a moment, it then tilted vertically and fell towards the other side of the cliff, finally settling firmly wedged between the two cliffs.

The intense shaking and the disorienting feeling of weightlessness made Zhang Jie feel like he was about to vomit.

John wasn't faring much better, given his age.

Simmons, however, seemed completely unaffected, and at this moment, on the other side, Carlos was lying on the train window, with Wesley pinning him underneath, a Pistol pointed at his forehead.

"Who exactly are you?"

Wesley didn't understand why this man was risking his life to save him.

If he hadn't saved him, he probably would have really fallen to his death just now.

"Because you are my son."

These words instantly confused Wesley's mind.

Unlike the original plot, Wesley's shot hit Carlos in the chest, but the bulletproof vest saved him from this ordeal, though the immense impact still left him feeling breathless and short of breath.

At this moment, Simmons also raised her Pistol, aiming it at Wesley.
