The officiator's voice echoed through the hall, it was calm and steady, like he was here to officiate an happy union like he was meant to.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today…"
Ava barely heard him.
Her palms were damp around her bouquet, but she kept her expression still. Every pair of eyes in the room was fixed on her. She felt them on her skin like heat and it wasn't helping that damian was standing right beside her. A part of her wished the ground would open up and swallow her whole.
Damian stood beside her, unmoving, his gaze slicing through the noise and settling only on her. He looked like he was studying every breath she took which made ava even more anxious..
When it was time for the vows, the officiator turned to Damian first.
"Do you, Damian Cross, take Ava Sinclair..."
Damian's answer came immediately and he didn't wait for him to be done talking.
"I do." He said in a strong and clear voice with no hint of hesitation.
