What a headache !
" G'morning, Anning." , the headache said . Anning smiled in return, " 'morning ". Now both were walking side by side. Sizi again said in a not-so-quiet voice, " Ah, do you know what's going on with the professors. They again notified the students to gather in the assembly hall." Anning, perplexed, asked, " Isn't its third time already in a month?" "Mhm-hmm, I heard it's again for the same thing."
"It's weird . Something must be happening inside, that we don't know."
"Of course. If they won't tell, how would we know. Not a single professor is ready to open it's mouth about the matter, leaving us confused."
Anning fell silent, contemplating her thought, and the headache next to her too, as they reached the classroom. The professor had yet to come. They went to their respective seats . Anning sat next by the window alone, and Sizi, who was not long ago talking with her enthusiastically, sat with her friends , three columns and one row behind Anning.
Anning is used to it. Sizi chose her before because no one was there, of course, plus to know if she had any idea about the gathering as Anning was a studious student to whom most of the professors like to talk with. In case, anyone revealed something to her.
Most of the students also only talk with her when they needed help, otherwise they don't even think twice before dumping her.
Anning couldn't care more or less. She has been treated like this from a very long time, since she was a kid, because of her cold exterior and not-flattering nature.
People are like this . She doesn't feel anything, anyways.
Does she?
She has nothing to do, so as to avoid the silent-awkwardness, she pulled a book from her bag which was the subject of the class and started reading. It was a little difficult to concentrate on the book , since everywhere around her there was a ruckus going-on , laughing and chattering loudly.
Not long after, the professor came to the classroom, silencing the hustle. Everyone greeted him. This professor's name was Lin Huang . He is one of the favourite professor of Anning because of his straight forward nature, though many students and some of his colleagues don't like this strait. Mr. Lin was a middle aged man with sturdy stature and scholarly aura. Although he was quite young to be a professor, he was still experienced.
Professor Lin , " Morning, students. As you have been already notified by the notice board about today's meeting, I'll still give you an account on behalf of the Dean, as many students are busy bodies to spare some time for notice board."
Anning felt a bit guilty at these words.
He continued, " Today all of you have to gather in the assembly hall at the bell after the lunch break. Don't be late as for not to get punished publicly.
"Okay then, now let's move to our class topic."
He didn't even stopped in between so as not to be asked about the meeting.
"Today we are going to study the structures suitable for various terrains and fields. You had already studied it in the previous year. But now, we are going to the depths. As a architecturer, you should know that this is one of the most important topics. So kindly pay your attention here." He said the last line looking at a boy who was daydreaming while seating.
Although this is always Anning's favourite class but still she was looking forward for the next class with eagerness.
Ding-ding.
The bell rang two times to indicate the commencement of second period. Everyone packed their belongings and exited the classroom towing the professor, in pairs except Anning.
Passing through the corridor, Anning's eyes started searching someone. But that someone was nowhere to be seen, that's why she reluctantly went to the class and took her seat. Next professor, Mr. Duan , entered the classroom.
Why she's is not up yet.
Anning thought still looking for 'someone' .
Just when the professor was reading the presentation, a girl entered the class.
She has a round face, large blossom eyes , average height and a cheerful demeanor. She quickly scanned the classroom with her peach blossoms looking for her companion and sat next to Anning. Anning glanced at her then lowered her eyes. This girl was Baizhi, that exception.
Anning was waiting for her, but now that she came , she waited for other party to speak.
After a moment , Baizhi finally gave in and said, " Hey, did you completed yesterday's assignment?"
"Yeah." Looking at her, Anning replied. Then she continued," Why did you came so early?"
Baizhi stared at her.
"Ah, the hell early! Actually I went to professor Lu's cabin to ask about the topics , I didn't understand in the lecture. But she was already attending someone. I waited outside the room but they were still not done. And finally I have to return without even getting my answers after waiting for so long."
"Oh" , Anning replied.
