Chapter 34 - Chapter 32: The deadly soup

I waved goodbye as I saw Tomas, Wesley and Gideon leave out of my view.

Only Amelia stayed beside me.

We turned around and headed to our village.

"Hey, your birthday is right around the corner right? Is there anything you want?" She asked.

How about I bedrot and doomscroll all day? Ah, the good old days.

Before I got FUCKING isekaid here!

"Ha, I really don't know what I should get for my birthday. Just something to eat can work." I said.

"Just something to eat? Your so lame! How about you get something you actually want!"

For you the shut the hell up.

"Uh...Maybe...uh...mmm...eh." I kept on blabbering as I thought deeply on what I should get.

She sighed.

"Maybe you'll need an actual brain to use. How about that?"

"Heh, an extra brain cell to use will be nice."

We quietly giggled together.

"Well, I should be at home by now, my mom said she wanted to do something and needed my help, so good luck on your part." She went the other direction from me and waved her hand around to say goodbye without even looking back at me.

I stood in the kitchen as I cooked up something up.

Stewing and stirring the pot of soup as I wore an apron.

I pulled the spoon up that I used it to stir.

I brought it up to my mouth and took a small sip.

Mama Mia, this is cooking up quite fine!

I smiled brightly with immense satisfaction.

This only took 1863 attempts to make something this good! I can't wait to show it to my mother.

Soon I thought deeply of my past. Reminiscing past attempts.

***

"Oh wow! You made this!" Said Sabine.

"I did, it only took a few times!" As I stood in the middle of a pile of dumps caused from the failed few times.

She slowly brought it to her mouth and took a small sip.

And then she pulled it back.

And just sat there indifferently. Her eyes wide open but still expressionless.

"...Mom?" I asked.

Thud!

"Mom!" I yelled as Sabine fell on the floor.

"Uh, you made it again?" Sabine asked.

"Yes! But don't worry because I went extra careful this time!"

She looked at the bowl of soup before taking a sip.

And barfed out after.

"Mom!" I yelled as Sabine fell on the floor again but covered in her own vomit.

Gulp!

I stood there with a spoon in hand as Sabine looked closely at the dish I made.

"Um...how about another time? Heh..." She slowly pushed the dish.

***

Ah, those were the good old days when I almost killed my own mother.

Click! Creak!

The front door slowly opens and Sabine comes in wearing workers clothes.

"Your home early, look what I made!" I extended my hands and revealed my dish.

Sabine looked and realized what I have done.

In a second, her forehead was drenched in sweat.

"Uh, mom?" I said.

"Huh? Oh! Yes sweety heheheh." She tried to play it off but I knew what she was doing.

"Don't worry mine! This time, my soup will not send you the hospital again!" I smiled pridefully as I made a pose to signify it.

"Yeah..." She gulped.

"Oh don't be so nervous, here try some!" I pointed my finger at the table, indicating her to sit as I grabbed a bowl to fill it up with soup.

I placed down the bowl of soup steaming with a unique aroma.

She sniffed.

"Hmm, a very unique smell heh heh heh..."

I grabbed a spoon and gave it to her with Sabine accepting.

Looking down at the soup, the only thing she could think of was how was she going to get out of this situation without killing herself or making Lukas cry.

She looked up to see me with a gracious and intrigued smile.

As I waited for her to taste it.

Slowly but steadily, she get a spoonful of my special soup and brought it up to her face.

Nearing her mouth, she opened it up and sipped.

"...Wait, this is actually good!" She said enthusiastically.

"Yeah!" I screamed in joy as I finally succeeded in making an actual good dish that didn't kill somebody.

Soon, Sabine finished the meal I've made for her.

She got up from her chair.

"Lukas, remember the check the pipes alright?" She said.

She headed towards the stairs.

And stopped.

And stood there for a minute.

"Mom?" I said worriedly.

Thud!

She dropped to the floor.

"Mom!"
